Whenever I share how excited I am about my new baby girl, I get those condescending comments like, "Well, as long as she’s healthy, right?" 😠 😠
Then there are the unsolicited experts claiming I have to stay in bed, or warning me that if my first pregnancy is rough, I'll never conceive again 😵—just endless nonsense.
Everyone seems to be an expert on everything. They question why I'm buying so much gear, asking what I need all these diapers for, or telling me I can just wait until later 😠 🙂 as if the baby won't outgrow everything instantly. Honestly, if I had listened to them, I would have thought size 56 diapers lasted until a toddler was three years old 🙄. Following their logic, I should probably just wait for someone to gift me everything so the kid can grow up naked and barefoot, being bathed in a kitchen sink and wearing dish towels instead of diapers. 🙄
And then there's this one person who keeps coming over and saying, "Oh, I forgot to bring my nursing pillow! It's such a lifesaver, you just need to buy more refill beads" 😵 because it's deflated—which she's said three times now. Personally, I'd be too embarrassed to admit I forgot something that often. This same person, who thinks she's such a pro, actually tried to give me her old maternity dress that she wore during her pregnancy. She hadn't even washed it since; it's been sitting in her closet for seven months, yet she acts like it's "fresh." It smelled so bad I wouldn't touch it even if I were standing there naked.
The pain is constant. It’s reached the point where even a quick trip to the corner store leaves me incapacitated and stuck in bed for the rest of the afternoon. Because of this, I’m stuck wearing these one pair of pants that are way too big; they constantly slide down regardless of whether I have tights or leggings underneath, and don't even get me started on how hot it's been lately 😠. If I actually try to go shopping to find something else, I can barely manage trying on two pairs before the pain just makes me want to scream.
It’s also incredibly frustrating being so forgetful. I’ll decide to do something, and three seconds later, it’s completely vanished from my mind, leaving me just staring at nothing. 😵
At work, it’s been driving me crazy because people keep staring at my stomach, trying to get a look, which is why I always stay bundled up in a jacket or coat 😛. Then there are the mindless questions, like asking when I'm taking medical leave—as if people here have any actual empathy for the fact that I need to limit my walking or that I can't just run around whenever they feel like it.
And of course, I have the worst luck. Every single time I finally decide to take some time off, some random OSHA inspector decides to show up for a surprise visit after three years of silence, forcing me to stay at work just to deal with them.
I'm also struggling to find a thread for a specific topic: when did you first feel your baby move? 🤣
Honestly, I’m mostly just angry at myself. I can't stop panicking and worrying that things won't turn out okay; I feel so foolish for being this anxious. 😠.
Honestly, I don't know why she's complaining when she already has two pairs of maternity pants 🙂 I don't own a single pair 🤣 I'm still wearing my one and only pair of jeans to the office every day, and nothing else fits 🤣 Don't even get me started on sweaters; my bust size jumped two whole sizes, and I'm only 18 weeks along. My bump isn't even showing yet, so I just look bloated 🤣 rather than pregnant. The only things that actually look decent are two tunics I just bought, though one is way too oversized to wear right now, and I can barely wear the other since I have to stick to long, wide-leg trousers for work.
Olivia Cooper272 said:My OB-GYN is seriously getting on my nerves. Every single time I’ve gone in—well, except for last time—she told me we’d be doing an ultrasound every other visit, but then she shows up today and just drops this on me 🤷
The woman handled my first pregnancy perfectly, but now it’s just one stupid mistake after another. Honestly, I have no clue if she actually performed an ultrasound on someone else or if she's just skipping it. At least with those, you aren't wasting supplies. If they really needed more, I could just go grab some lube or that gel they slather on your stomach, but the machine itself doesn't just run out of juicediv>
I just remembered that the door to the ultrasound room at our clinic specifically says "Ultrasounds are free," yet some geniuses still find ways to charge us for them 😠, probably around $50$27. Honestly, it's straight-up theft 😠, especially when it comes to pregnant women. They shouldn't be paying for anything; I'd argue even the supplemental tests required for pregnancy should be covered. I really don't understand these predatory doctors.
Honestly, I’d like to have a word with anyone who claims pregnancy is some "mild" experience 🙂
Mild? Give me a break. Between the constant nausea, the aches, and the mood swings, I don't see anything mild about this. I am more than ready for this baby to finally be out 😬
My mother-in-law 🙂 😬
First off, while I was dealing with intense pain—I’m basically experiencing every possible pregnancy complication, from constant nausea that hasn't let up even at 18 weeks to these horrific abdominal cramps. There are days when I can't even sit or stand properly, which just leaves me feeling incredibly on edge and irritable from the discomfort. Then she swoops in with comments like, "Oh, that doesn't look right, something must be wrong" 😠 Honestly, as if I don't have enough on my plate without her jumping in with those remarks. I really don't need the extra stress 😠
And then, once she heard the baby is 😍, she turned to my husband and asked how such a grown man couldn't manage to produce a son 😠 🙂 , followed by this massive, disappointed sigh: "Aaaah, it's a girl" 😠 I mean, the child isn't even born yet and she's already facing discrimination from her "brilliant" grandmother. Plus, she already has two grandkids from her other son, so you'd think she'd be thrilled about adding another grandchild to the mix
Kenneth Howard2 said:You should seriously look into raspberry leaf tea; I can’t recommend it enough. People call it a miracle herb, and if you search online or check the various wellness forums, you'll see why. I wouldn't say this without having tried it myself—so many women have found success getting pregnant thanks to this tea. It helps balance your hormones and regulates your cycle, so everything stays on schedule, which makes conceiving much easier.
When your cycle is this unpredictable, there isn't much to do but wait until the very last minute passes.
As for the symptoms, it's honestly miserable how they mimic PMS so perfectly. How are you ever supposed to tell the difference?
The days leading up to your period are just plain awful; you find yourself praying it won't start. Personally, I can't even bother taking a test until Friday. By then, it'll be significantly late. Honestly, who has the patience for this kind of waiting?
Thanks, I'll look into that tea. Though, in all honesty, I'm hoping I won't need it because I'm actually pregnant. I can't test until Friday either, maybe even later. Fingers crossed we both get to post good news here soon.😁
Haha, you really cracked me up with those diarrhea stories 🤣
Honestly, my situation with my period is even more frustrating. My cycle is all over the place—one month it’s 26 days, the next it’s 35. It’s driving me absolutely crazy 😠
Kenneth Howard2, keeping my fingers crossed for you.
I bought a test last time and was honestly pretty let down by the results. I think I'll wait a bit longer this time—it’s only been one day so far, but my cycle has always been pretty irregular anyway.
