Joshua Wood4, thanks so much, you're the best! 🙏
Megan Rodriguez44 said:Tomislav Speranda. He’s playing bass now with Arsenal (that cover band out in Seattle).

Gotta beat you to the punch on the next question 😁—Renato from Australia is actually Renato Grancieri. He makes furniture over in Melbourne and plays gigs for the local American community there.

Or so I've heard.

Hahha super thanks! 🙂

So, what bands were they even in before?
I’m actually kinda curious too—who exactly is Spyro? Like, is he some kind of inspector over at City Hall? 😁

Man, what a bummer. Did they move it or just cancel it altogether?

How was the David Byrne set?

It was honestly such a vibe 😍
The Great Gig was seriously amazing last night 🙏
Have you ever lied about seeing a movie? in Movies ·
Just once, but it was a totally different vibe! A friend of mine got me some awesome Christmas gifts—The Dark Knight and the Depeche Mode Live DVD—but that first one didn't even work 🤣 So she goes did you watch it? I thought it was amazing, and I was like oh yeah, definitely, it's so good 🤣 Happiness didn't ask too many questions
You’re totally right, there’s way too much music out there and just not enough time (or sometimes enough data on my phone plan 😁). I usually find bands either through Last.fm recommendations or because they're constantly being hailed as "legends" in the media, so I'll go check them out myself. I have a list of maybe 30 bands on my phone that I've heard of, but honestly, I don't know anything about them yet—I'm moving pretty slow, I guess :P
And most of them are older bands. I don't know why, but new stuff just doesn't really grab me. Maybe I'm just too used to that 80s sound? Or maybe I'm waiting for them to become legends first? It’s kind of a bummer though, because in 30 years people will ask what I was listening to and I'll have to say, "Oh, just old stuff, I totally ignored everything modern." 😢
Anyway, I'm willing to put in some work, and it usually pays off big time (like with the Stone Roses, Suede, The Smiths, EKV, or AFoS) 😍
Now I'm slowly diving into early 80s goth, so we'll see how that goes 🙂

Ugh, I honestly get such a bad vibe whenever I see her, I don't even know why 🤣
Forrest Gump (2003) in Movies ·
Honestly, the most ridiculous part has to be when Colin heads over to Amalia's uncle's place, and it feels like the entire city is following them just to get to the bar. But hey, even if that's wild, the sister and the whole vibe of that scene are still so good 🤣

Uncle: This American guy wants to marry you
Sister: I've seriously never even seen him! You'd really sell me off to some stranger?!
Uncle: Sell you? Please, I'll just pay him instead 🤣

Shut up Miss Donut 2003 😂

Absolute perfection, Americans couldn't pull this off if they tried🙏
Every single scene is iconic, the soundtrack, everything... it's one of those movies you can watch a trillion times and still find something new. Like, I just realized it was January Jones, and I am totally head over heels for Colin Firth when he's speaking whatever language that is—like apologia or eusebio😍

My absolute favorites are:

1. Bill Nighy

Nuff said 🙏🙏🙏

2. Colin Firth when he's speaking god knows what language (apologia, eusebio😂)

One of the prettiest scenes ever😍 The guy is super quiet in the movie, but Keira Knightley is just stunning as usual

Morgan Cooper34 said:Go read the thread about violent children. Personally, I've sat there and watched kids slap, spit at, and scream at their parents while the mother just crouches down next to them saying, "Oh honey, we don't do that."
Those kids grow up to be delinquents.

As for that bolded part, I was talking about parental statements and parental actions. In the sense that you truly never know how a single critique, a smack, or even just a harsh tone might wreck a child's self-esteem and shape their future behavior.

John Parker5—you're comparing spanking a kid for every little thing to "major" offenses. Take me, for example. I got my first real beating when I swiped candy from a convenience store for the fourth time. I was four years old. For the first three times, my mom tried the gentle approach—"Sweetie, that's not right, that's not okay." But honestly? If she hadn't laid the hammer down on that fourth time, I probably would've kept stealing.

Those parents clearly have zero control and let things slide until they're dealing with actual criminals, but violence isn't the answer, obviously.
I honestly can't stand people whose first instinct is to hit, instead of saving it as a last resort.
Hitting kids is just a sign of total incompetence; it's what happens when people have no clue how to actually parent.👎
John Parker5 said:It's wrong if a man hits a woman, or a woman hits a man... but somehow it's fine to hit a child?! Give me a break! Talk about irony...

Carol Myers98 said:Yeah, true, but it’s still totally uncool. I mean, I had one of those glowing things too, and it never even crossed my mind to toss it onto the stage. But then some guy actually asked if he could take mine just to throw it up there! Of course I didn't give it to him. It's just not right, honestly. It feels kind of low-class, you know? Like, show up to a concert and then start pelting the performers with pieces of plastic. It makes zero sense.

Way to go, Carol Myers98
I seriously don't get why those idiots even bought tickets to the show if they were just gonna act like total morons 😕 The only "logical" explanation is that they were probably super wasted beforehand...
Betty Barnes57 said:Seriously, some people are just straight-up jerks!!! 👎

So what? Honestly, I’d probably just grab that plastic thing and chuck it right back into the crowd 😁

Man, I don't even have an NBC+ subscription to catch Lily Allen and see how you guys are doing 😢
Oh man, this sucks, I'm so bummed 😢
Gary Baker3 said:That might be a little harder to pull off, since Lily Allen plays first, and then YYYs overlap with FF

🙂 Ehh, so Lily Allen is on at 6:45, but I don't really plan on hanging out at the YYYs set for too long. I barely even know who they are! Their new song Zeroooo is pretty great though, so they'll probably just keep me from losing my mind while waiting for FF....
Gosh, what am I even talking about? I'm not even going to 😵, 🙈
Ehh, if I could actually make this happen, my schedule would be absolutely perfect 😍 I'd hit up YYYs first, grab a quick bite to eat, then catch Lily Allen, followed by Franz Ferdinand—all in one single day. Ahhh, sweet dreams...
