Gregory Jackson said:Yeah, being tied down to worldly stuff totally stunts your spiritual growth, which is pretty much common knowledge at this point. I mean, Jesus basically said He came to set us apart from even our own mothers and fathers—it sounds a bit intense when you put it that way, but yeah, that's pretty much the gist of it.

I wouldn't call it harsh; honestly, I think it was beautifully put.
Sounds pretty good to me.

lonehawk16 said:I have a somewhat practical question for the group: how many of you actually practice the movements described in Carlos Castaneda's "magical movement"? I am curious to know after what period of time you began to notice or feel any tangible results—specifically regarding shifts or increases in your body's energy levels—and, more importantly, how those changes actually manifest for you physically or mentally?

I’ve been doing them for about a year now—not strictly, though. Sometimes I do them daily, sometimes just once or twice a week, depending on how I feel. At first, you won't feel a thing—it probably takes some time for your energy to actually kick in. But after a while, you start feeling this sense of calm wherever you go; it kind of strips away that fake ego mask we all wear. Then, you start to look... brighter. People will tell you that you've lost weight, even when you haven't—they just don't know what else to call it because they have no clue what's actually happening.
After practicing for a while, you start to feel a slight hum of energy when you pull it through or move through it. Just last week, I actually had a vision of how certain movements disperse energy through the egg and the directions it flows, or how the energy fills up the aura. Most importantly—and this is the best part—it perfectly redirects sexual energy, which is absolutely vital if you want to maintain consciousness during dreams.

Gregory Jackson said:That’s it, man! I had no idea physics had pushed things that far; maybe some of our ramblings will actually turn into real science someday, I guess. 🙂 Regarding this alpha state stuff—for the most part, that’s the state we find ourselves in during meditation, and we automatically start receiving energy, just like she said. That’s probably why people feel so much better and more relaxed after meditating, like they've actually received something. It kind of gives you the impression that we automatically attract energies that vibrate at a frequency matching our current brain wave frequency. I’d also add, from my own experience, that we can actually ask for a specific kind of energy to help us heal, relax, or aid our development and such.

There’s even a Theta Healing movement here in the States that uses theta waves for healing and various effects; it's basically the same concept, just involving a lower range of frequencies, which means even more powerful energy.

I'll say something else that might sound a bit heretical, but it's been tried in practice—if someone manages to reach 0.15 Hz through prayer or meditation, an "inner spiritual teacher" emerges during the session. I'm reminded of Barbara Brennan and her "Hojehn." In reality, it’s this special energy that calls itself the energy field (EF), and its job is to take over individuals who are spiritually developed and guide them toward enlightenment, because a person just can't practice their way down to those low brain wave frequencies on their own. Reaching 0.15 Hz could take years, maybe even like 20 years of constant meditation. When the EF appears (and it usually shows up in a form that feels familiar to the person, like the Virgin Mary, or Krishna to Hindus, or just a simple, real inner voice—it rarely shows up as itself), a person can finally breathe easy because they know they're in safe hands. Communication during meditation happens through direct knowing; it's like a person is aware of a sentence without a single word being spoken—at least, that's what those who do this say! Once you get down to the 4 Hz range, personal powers start to emerge, like seeing energies or whatever it is the person is practicing or naturally inclined toward.

Thanks, Nancy Harris6, for the support! We really need more exchanges of information like this; I feel like we can all learn something from it.

Ugh, well, I guess I’ve been stuck at that level this whole time.😁 Oh, thanks for the heads up—I had absolutely no idea...😂

Gregory Jackson said:Based on personal experience? Hmm, I mean, during those first few years on the path, maybe our experiences aren't even that frequent yet, or maybe we just can't quite wrap our heads around how to interpret them, so having some external support feels pretty necessary—for me, honestly, just being around people who are moving in the same direction helps so much because we can bounce ideas off each other or just cheer each other on.
The whole thing about killing for ideas sounds super extremist to me, like some radical group style, though I suppose we're hopefully a bit smarter than that. Could you maybe elaborate a little? I'm kind of a literalist, I guess, so I really like it when things are laid out clearly for me.

Honestly, I'm surprised you didn't catch my drift.

But fine, let me try to break it down for you;
if you obsess too much over anything, you drain your energy into it, and then you've got nothing left to connect with the spirit.

There. Was that literal enough for you?

👍
God, the Cosmos, and Jesus in Spirituality ·
Take, for instance, when someone says: I believe in God. In those cases, what you’re really saying is that certain ideas were handed to you, and you just decided to pick them up and adopt them—and now, suddenly, you're willing to die for them. So, basically,
you aren't even the ones making the call! It’s someone else doing the deciding—it's pre-programmed reasoning.
It would be a lot better if you actually built your life around your own direct experience. If your belief system depends on something outside of yourself, watch out. Anything that doesn't make you free is just keeping you captive.

Sure, this makes us "experts" in a field, but at the same time, it freezes those energy channels—the only way we can actually react to certain stimuli—
by burying our true selves under a mountain of borrowed ideas and judgments.

The universe is dualistic. It's made of two forces, symbolically shown as two intertwined snakes.
But those forces have nothing to do with the usual dualities we talk about—like good and evil, God and the Devil, positive and negative, or any other pair of opposites you can think of. To be more precise, they create an unimaginable
wave of energy—materially right here, right now, and spiritually, the stuff that exists even though we can't see it.

Joseph Cook7 said:By listening to that gut feeling before you even open your mouth. A real warrior doesn't just chat because they feel like it or because someone else wants to talk—they listen to that inner voice first to see if a conversation is even worth having... like, once I was talking to this kid and something just told me he wasn't being real with me, so I shut it down right then and there. If I’d explained why, he probably would've thought I was losing my mind, but I'm telling you, I just followed my gut... As for the other guys in the discussion, nothing felt off, so we stayed on good terms.

If you're just talking for the sake of talking, I totally get it—it's a massive waste of time. If that's what you meant, we're on the same page.

It's fine if it hits you like an actual voice. For me, it's not really a sound in my head; it's more of a gut feeling—you know, like a silent realization.

Joseph Cook7 said:Look, I get it—you mean well and want to lend a hand whenever you can. But honestly? I think you lost the plot with how you're phrasing things. A tracker lives by control, discipline, and restraint, but none of that matters without perfect timing. A warrior isn't just sitting there passive; they strike once, decisively, at the exact right moment. To an outsider, it might look off, but a warrior doesn't have time for empty chatter or pointless games that go nowhere—basically they don't have time to waste or talk nonsense —and they need to make that clear to everyone. I'm worried you're missing the point by constantly trying to lecture people. That's not it. You should just drop a hint about the path; long stories and unsolicited advice lead nowhere and definitely aren't in the spirit of a tracker, who makes every second count and uses time extremely sparingly.

Subtle hints? Good luck getting anyone to pick up on those—they're pretty rare to begin with.
Look, I’m not claiming to be some genius or have all the answers here. Honestly, if someone points out when I'm messing up, I actually appreciate it—so please, if you see me tripping up, just tell me how to fix it.

How exactly do you think you "save time" or "spend it efficiently"?

Joseph Cook7 said:Look, man, I was just trying to shut down a pointless argument between two people who aren't even listening to each other—I never said the kid insulted me. Another guy on the forum asked me about it, so I had to explain why I made the call... don't worry about my ego or how much "thrust" I've got left—I think I'm doing just fine.

You didn't even have to say it—it was obvious.
Look, I'm constantly re-evaluating what I know. There have been plenty of times where I was dead certain I was right, only to realize I was being totally blind to my own mistakes until someone else pointed them out.

Real fighters seek out people on that same path just so they can get some honest feedback—to hear the things an individual might miss on their own.

I wasn't trying to be a jerk; I was just trying to help. It's up to you guys to take that info and decide if you need to rethink your own approach.

Sometimes it happens spontaneously, and other times I lean into being a complete idiot on purpose... just pure, unadulterated stupidity... 😛 I try to conserve my energy, mostly because I have this tendency to give too much of myself away... I find myself getting sucked into someone else's movie, desperate to truly understand... 🙄It’s like some kind of energy vampire latches onto me and just won't let go, staring me down with this relentless, unblinking intensity... and the more they try to drain me, the harder it becomes to break free... 😠

I mean, I’ve definitely mastered the art of playing the fool for this society... It happens rarely and usually only when the mood strikes me... levels... The energies involved—that sense of being present, the relaxation in the moment, the level of composure... it all starts out naturally, but over time it becomes more frequent and intentional, growing proportionally... It seems like things are starting to pick up... If this really is all about energies... then I suppose I’m planning on becoming a complete idiot at record speed... 🤣
There's also this sense that all this acting feels somewhat hollow, a kind of surface-level absurdity regarding human existence that pales in comparison to my own experience of actual meaning...

Joseph Cook7, would you say that spontaneously playing along with society or just letting things slide counts as controlled madness, or does it actually require a certain level of skill developed through intense self-work? It feels like a bit of a silly question, since you really only reach that point after doing the work... energy...But still, I find myself curious about what an expert has to say on the matter...

Is it actually possible to experience a sense of purpose and the joy of being during the process of transformation—to feel comfortable in one's own skin and in the company of others—or is the defining characteristic truly this coldness, which strikes me as nothing more than a profound sense of emptiness and the sheer meaninglessness of existence... 😢

The concept of controlled madness feels absolutely brilliant... 🙏

Controlled madness isn't actually playing the idiot—it's just masking who you really are. It’s a defense mechanism because, honestly, what would happen if you actually opened up to people and started talking about all this stuff we discuss here? They wouldn't get it.

With controlled madness, you aren't being fake; you're just performing the role everyone expects you to play.

😉

Nancy Harris6 said:Quote: Inside Silence

I took your advice and stepped back for a bit—not only did my mind go completely silent (as in, there wasn't the slightest chance of a single thought drifting in), but I also felt... Better... It’s like running ahead of oneself—that kind of profound mental stillness where you just stumble into this overwhelming sense of happiness... More intense... I felt it...

Quote: Inside Silence

It all comes down to consciousness. I’ve come to realize that mental stillness—that quietude where the internal dialogue finally ceases—is essentially what it means to be conscious in the present moment. Silencing those thoughts is the fundamental prerequisite for stepping into NOW. And honestly, grasping this... it’s been more rewarding to me than anything else in this world... 🙏 Now it’s just a matter of turning all that knowledge into actual practice... That’s where the real artistry lies—it’s easy enough to talk about it or dwell on the theory... It seems like such a waste, all the wisdom in the world if it never meets real-world application, doesn't it...

Quote: Inside Silence

Maybe you could lend me a bit of that humility of yours—I feel like I’ve been throwing posts around this forum like some kind of heavy hitter, and I might be coming across as a little too full of myself... 🤷
How does one share their perspective without coming across as arrogant or overbearing...

I’m certain that you could offer far more than just me... anyone reading your words would find immense value in the knowledge and experience you possess, which truly is a treasure...

I have this growing sense that the more I actually learn, the less I truly know... which is the honest truth...

Quote: Inside Silence

While flipping through Quote: Inside Silence, I thought perhaps you were inspired by the section from the Westwood series—those theories found within the book. The magic of inner silence, living in the now, and true awareness. It makes the story even more compelling if you were actually living out what you read...

I mentioned once that I had read a book by Carlos Castaneda. Specifically, "the art of dreaming." The book I actually wanted for my birthday, and eventually received, was "magical movement." I haven't fully immersed myself in "magical movement" yet; I’ve mostly just skimmed through the chapters. It functions quite a bit like a manual, filled with photos that provide a step-by-step guide for practicing tensegrity (the magical movement), along with various interesting insights...

To save a bit of energy—essentially by transcribing, which is much easier on my energetic system—I'll briefly outline the core concepts...

As Joseph Cook7 previously noted, 🙂 there are six tensegrity sequences:
-The sequence for preparing intention
-The sequence for immersion
-The five-area sequence (the Westwood series)
-Separating the left body from the right body
-The masculinity sequence
-The sequence of means used in conjunction with a magical movement
Each of these sequences meets the criteria for maximum efficiency and serves as a replica of how the longer sequences of magical movement were originally utilized...
It is important to recognize here that these movement sequences weren't simply made up; they are the result of observing unconscious movements the body performs during states of heightened awareness, movements that resulted in a profound improvement in physical and mental states. Initially, the Toltec warriors attributed this improvement to the elevated state of consciousness itself, but they later discovered it was actually caused by those inexplicable, unconscious bodily movements, which they observed and subsequently began to perform consciously in these sequences...

Look, I'm a hands-on kind of guy—whenever I stumble onto something useful, my first instinct is to put it into practice immediately.

Maybe borrow a little of my humility—I tend to scatter posts all over this forum like I'm some big shot, so I probably come off as arrogant... 🤷
How do you share what you know (or just your opinion) without sounding cocky or aggressive?

You don't look arrogant; you just seem... excited? I don't know how else to put it. It's like you finally found your niche here on the forum and everything is just clicking.

It’s just a phase, though. You'll grow out of it eventually.😁

I was thinking (while flipping through magic movement) that maybe you were inspired by that whole Westwood series—all that theory from the book. The whole thing about Quote : Inside Silence / living in the NOW / awareness. Which makes the story even better—that you were inspired by actually living what you read...

Nah, I haven't actually read that book yet. Usually, I experience something firsthand and then go find it in a book later—that's always been more satisfying for me. What inspired me was just the state I found myself in, and that moment when I realized what was happening. Like, crossing that threshold where the whole narrative shifts—where the "normal" state becomes Quote : Inside Silence, and talking just happens sporadically rather than being the main event.

I mentioned somewhere that I read one of those books by Carlos Castaneda. Specifically, "the art of dreaming." But the book I wanted for my birthday—and ended up getting—is "magic movement." I haven't fully tackled "magic movement" yet; I've mostly just skimmed the chapters. It's basically a manual with photos showing you step-by-step how to practice tensegrity (magic movements), along with some interesting side notes.

Read the magic movement stuff; it's incredible for redirecting your energy.

lonehawk16 said:When I first stumbled upon this thread regarding spirituality, I found myself quite captivated by those initial few posts... However, as I continue reading through to the end, I find myself encountering certain points where my own perspective diverges from the consensus. That said, I recognize the possibility that some ideas might simply be missing the right vocabulary or perhaps remain somewhat underdeveloped rather than being inherently incorrect.

The energy we carry into this world—which manifests as an egg-shaped field surrounding our physical body, what some might call an aura—isn't truly "spent" or depleted throughout our lives in a literal sense; rather, its ebb and flow is conditioned entirely by how we choose to live.

Furthermore, this energy can serve as a compass to help us navigate the complexities of our circumstances and our very existence, provided we can quiet the mind enough to actually interface with that energy. By doing so, we gain a deeper insight into our essence and come to understand the nature of existence within this "illusory reality." This understanding is vital for gaining specific experiences and absorbing the lessons necessary for our growth—specifically, the evolution of the energy that permeates our being.

You mention the necessity of inner silence, which makes perfect sense, as that stillness is required to reconnect with the "inner self," or the "Higher Self." You also speak of detaching from perceived reality, which is equally valid, as such detachment is necessary for us to perceive other dimensions of reality.
However, I detect a certain logical inconsistency within the discussions here, and I would appreciate some clarification, even if you happen to disagree with my line of reasoning.

A being "cold as ice"?
Indifferent to human affairs?

Think about it this way: someone who perceives an orange by its textured, pitted peel would look like a primitive lunatic to someone who sees only a smooth, irregular sphere, wouldn't they? In that scenario, the person seeing the true texture of the orange must "pretend" to see nothing more than a plain sphere just to satisfy the majority. And we all know that whatever the majority believes is labeled "normal"—anything outside those boundaries is dismissed as insanity.

So, I ask you: is it possible that this "being cold as ice" only appears that way at first glance because they perhaps understand the nature of existence more clearly than others? Could it be that they realize the trivialities of life hold little weight, and instead focus on something greater than ourselves—living in alignment with that higher purpose without exhausting themselves on meaningless distractions in an effort to maintain and evolve their state of consciousness?
Secondly, while a certain detachment from human affairs might be necessary to preserve that state of awareness, aren't human activities a fundamental part of this world we have chosen to inhabit for the sake of learning and growth? If we view things through that lens, wouldn't total indifference mean missing out on the very opportunities intended for our education?

Yeah, exactly. Personally, I wouldn't even say it’s "cold as ice"—I’d say it’s just so saturated with energy that human trivialities don't matter anymore. When you're that full, all that mundane stuff just becomes irrelevant. In that moment, you realize there's actually something much bigger and more meaningful out there than whatever people are fussing about daily.

Me? I prefer a bit of controlled madness. On the inside, I’m my true self, but on the outside, I play the part people expect to see. If I actually let them see the real me, people would have a field day—they'd talk constantly, paint me in a negative light, and never leave me alone. That would totally wreck the sense of invisibility I'm working so hard to build.

But you missed the part where "the young gentleman" immediately claimed I just copied my opening post and that I'm just playing a role here. Since he thinks I'm just some copier and manipulator, I can't do much more than "request" that he stop addressing me altogether. Everything I write comes straight from my head—I don't copy anyone. I've been on the Toltec path for over twenty-five years, learning from a student of the last Toltec in California, where I lived and studied. Since I spend so much time traveling, I make typos, which the young gentleman immediately jumped on, failing to realize that internet forums aren't professionally edited books. People just write how they know how to write. I'm open to chatting and making connections, just not to the mockery and childishness...

Hmm, looks like that young guy is getting under your skin.
I’m honestly surprised that after being on the path for so long, something like this can actually offend you—maybe you haven't quite mastered the art of stalking yet.

By the way, I know my tone can be pretty persuasive, but try to look past it. If I can stay chill at 25 and not take stuff personally even in bad situations, then someone much older should be able to do the same. I don't always talk like this, but sometimes there's no other way, though I still think it's better to speak up than just stay silent.

Talking about the Toltec Way is super rare for someone who isn't familiar with it at all, because it’s a fundamentally different worldview compared to our usual way of seeing things.

Wait, where did this idea come from that I'm not familiar with it or the works of Castaneda? Did that just not cross your mind, or is it just impossible for someone to be familiar with this stuff without treating it like their own personal Bible instead of keeping an authentic perspective on existence?
Basically, trying to discuss colors and shades with a colorblind person is just silly and pointless, and that's exactly what's happening here since we can't even land on one topic because you haven't read any of this.

I'm seriously wondering what the point of this thread is when it's just you and Zachary Cook2 going back and forth, and it's set up so that half the text is just copied and pasted just to "enlighten" certain people. Honestly, if you want to do that, start a blog—there's always room for a blogger. 👍 But in that case, I'd suggest taking a quick refresher course on basic grammar if you aren't from the US, because it's pretty rough seeing typos like that.

Don't stress about feeling like you offended anyone, because you didn't. But we constantly have to signal to you that we can't really talk to you because you lack the basic concepts of the subject, which means we have no common ground to actually hold a discussion.

Thanks again for the discriminatory comments. I feel like I'm at a cult meeting where you can't ask a question without getting a shallow answer that has nothing to do with what you asked, just some quotes that are miles away from the core of my question.

And hey, don't go feeling offended yourselves either.

@Zachary Cook2

Look, there's nothing wrong with copying text.

I never said doing that was bad, so stop taking my words out of context. Thanks.🙂

I didn't ask that just to jump to a conclusion, honestly. I asked because most posts here feel like they’re totally missing a real sense of personality. When you don't see that individual spark, it makes me wonder if people are actually thinking for themselves or just blindly following the crowd.
There's zero point in having a debate if everyone is just throwing stuff out there without actually processing it first. If you aren't truly "digesting" the info, you might as well just grab the source material and read it yourself—you'll learn way more that way!

Go ahead, keep going. I'm right here whenever you need me.👍

Where did this idea come from—that I'm not familiar with the subject or even with Castaneda's work? Did it just not cross your mind, or is it simply impossible for someone to be well-versed in something like this without treating it like their own Bible and losing their sense of autonomy and perspective on existence?

There's a massive difference between being informed and actually practicing it. Plenty of people have read the books only to decide they'd rather just stick to reading Stephen King.😂

A Bible?! I don't get why you're comparing millennia of practical knowledge to a thousand years of faith without any actual practice involved!

Honestly, I'm wondering what the point of this thread is when it's just you and Zachary Cook2 debating, and half the text feels like it was just copied and pasted just to "enlighten" a select few. If you want to lecture people, start a blog; it's never too late to become a blogger. 👍 In that case, though, I'd suggest taking a quick refresher course on basic American grammar if you aren't a native speaker, because seeing typos like that is pretty grating.

Grammar? Since when does that even matter?! Is it really that important?!😂
And why shouldn't the two of us sit here and swap experiences? Either jump into the discussion or opt out—the choice is yours.
👍

Thanks again for the discriminatory remarks. It feels like being in a cult where you can't ask a question without getting some shallow answer that barely touches on the point, just quoting stuff that’s miles away from the essence of what I actually asked.

Well, you got all your answers, and they were pretty damn precise.

And hey, don't go taking this personally either.

Not a chance—honestly, I’d probably do more!👍

@Zachary Cook2

Look, I never said it was bad, so quit pulling my words out of context. Thanks. 🙂

My bad if I messed up here.

I didn't ask just to jump to conclusions; I asked because these posts are chronically lacking any individual authenticity. When that's missing, I have to wonder if people are actually thinking for themselves or just blindly following the herd.

Everything Joseph Cook7 has been posting lately—honestly, that’s exactly how I live my life. I can say with total certainty that I’m living life to the fullest compared to most people. I would never go back to living like an average Joe because I remember what that was like, and man, it was pretty bleak.

Look, I get that you dig those sources and find them useful, but that wasn't my question. My original point still hasn't been addressed.

And I’d really love it if Joseph Cook7 could weigh in on this. It seems like everyone else is fine with it except me, probably because they think I'm just trying to stir the pot. But honestly, acting solely on assumptions is the opposite of being an Aztec warrior, and it definitely flies in the face of the Four Agreements.

Thanks in advance for the replies!

Look, there’s nothing wrong with referencing a text.

What’s the big deal?

Personally, I don't have enough juice to turn Nagual knowledge into spoken words—trying to put the indescribable into language requires a massive amount of energy.

The guy who actually passed that knowledge down was Juan—an 80-year-old, flawless warrior—and he had the sheer capacity to tell it.

So, if I wanted to explain this stuff to you, there's no harm in me grabbing a book to help me give you the answer you're looking for.

I haven't really used them before, and you can probably tell by my posts that I tend to be a bit more rigid and heavy-handed compared to Joseph Cook7. Now, since Joseph Cook7 is probably twenty-something years older than me, he’s likely gathered more inner power and can melt that knowledge into words—or even if he's just using a book to help, it's fine. It’s just a way to save your own energy.

At the end of the day, all that matters is that you actually get the answer to the question you asked.

That's pretty much it...

As for getting started, I have... and since we're talking beginnings, my core philosophy is simply that everything is energy, so I start by trying to understand both the world and myself, building my knowledge of the metaphysical and the physical simultaneously... 🙂 I suspect true wisdom remains out of reach if one doesn't establish the right foundations, much like anything else worth doing in this life.

I find myself fascinated by energy in every sense of the word. It’s hard to put into words... it’s an endless expanse, all the timelessness and everything, everything... 😍

Man, that’s actually huge...👍 it’s great, especially if you’re actually aware of it right now. If you've got that realization in this moment, you're already way ahead of the game.

I tend to take my dreams quite seriously, experiencing them with the same weight and intensity as my waking life... They feel full of purpose and genuine vitality. In my mind, there isn't really a distinction between what happens while I sleep and what happens when I'm awake; they both hold equal value... 🙂

Man, where have you been hiding? 😁 Seriously though, it's nice when someone actually gets it, but from what I can see, you still have a lot to learn about this stuff... 😉 Dreams are just as real as what we're doing right now; the only real difference is that in dreams, things are much more fluid and relaxed, so we can shape energy however we want. Here, everything is already set in stone—we don't have that kind of control.
I don't think you get it—this isn't some casual stroll through Central Park.🙂

When it comes to actual knowledge, Kastaned was essentially a once-in-a-millennium bridge—a three-pronged nagual who existed solely to pass this wisdom down through his books.
The thing is, this knowledge wasn't even "his" to begin with; it’s Toltec wisdom that's been handed down through generations for thousands of years.
He describes both the new and the old types of seers. These "new" ones are warriors—which is exactly what we're dealing with here—focusing on nothing but freedom of consciousness, not some dark, paranoid delusions. The books also touch on the old guard; they lost their way and became black magicians, but they're really just mentioned as cautionary tales—examples of what *not* to do and where they went wrong.

What you're saying about the brain misses the point of left and right consciousness. The right side handles everything you visually perceive, while you have to master the left side to actually grasp the knowledge without needing constant explanations or chatter.

Look, just do some reading. It's not like you can't squeeze in 15 or 20 pages during a break every day. Honestly, just keep a book in there with you when you're on the toilet—that's plenty of time. 😂
