hiddenraven7 said:Hi everyone—I’m actually dealing with a delay myself. My last period was around May 19th or 20th, though I can't be entirely certain of the exact date. My cycles have always been a bit irregular—even if they follow a 28-day pattern, they usually run late by a week or two, sometimes even three. This time, though, it’s been about a month. I am sexually active, but I always use protection, so... I guess pregnancy isn't likely. Last month was just a total nightmare—finals week was incredibly stressful, followed immediately by two trips, and then a sudden toothache that kept me on Advil for three days. I even had to undergo anesthesia for the dental work—which was my first time ever, by the way. I took a test this past Thursday and it was negative, yet my period still hasn't arrived. I've been trying to reach my OB-GYN, but I assume everyone is away on vacation because nobody is picking up. I even called three different local clinics in my neighborhood, but it's the same story—just ringing and ringing. I don't have any symptoms at all, really—nothing unusual. Nothing hurts, nothing feels off, my appetite is fine, and I'm not experiencing any nausea or anything. I assume I'm not pregnant, but I wonder if the stress could have caused such a long delay, especially since the exam stress is over now. Could this potentially be some kind of underlying health issue? Has anyone else gone through something similar?
At this point, we're all just guessing what it could be:
- maybe it's just stress
- maybe you are pregnant
- maybe it's PCOS or something similar
- who knows, maybe something else entirely
The best move is definitely to see an OBGYN, like you mentioned. Maybe try one of the private practices instead? Some of them are bound to be open. It might cost a bit more out of pocket, but at least you'll have peace of mind.
Have you tried taking another pregnancy test? If you're having trouble tracking down a doctor, you might as well rule out pregnancy first.
Good luck!
