I am in complete agreement with Nicole Johnson20 regarding her assessment. Appointing this specific moderator was a poor decision, not necessarily because of the selective, frantic deletions, but because she allows discussions to veer wildly off course. By permitting the destruction of threads while making any actual dialogue—whether for or against a point—impossible due to the way titles are handled, everything eventually turns into a total mess. It is a predictable pattern: when someone fails to grasp a concept, they simply destroy it and retreat into the areas where they feel competent.

The lateral effect here is that whenever a new forum member arrives with a fresh perspective, they become collateral damage, falling victim to the sheer idiocy and incompetence that the moderator permits under the guise of "freedom of expression." There is a massive distinction between offering an alternative viewpoint and the persistent, emotional denial of reality we see here.
Which brings us back to the fact that everything eventually turns into a total mess... it is patently obvious that this represents the absolute ceiling of her capabilities...

analogwalker2 said:I currently have Windows 7 32-bit running, but I am looking to switch over to the 64-bit version. Even though I have 6 GB of RAM installed—a 2 GB stick paired with a 4 GB one—the system refuses to utilize more than 4 GB. According to my motherboard's technical specifications, if you exceed the 4 GB threshold while running 32-bit Windows, the usable memory is capped at just over 3 GB.
I recall a time when my PC was at a repair shop in Chicago; they swapped out my hard drive and migrated all my existing programs onto the new one. It made me wonder if such a thing is possible during a reinstallation.

Certain legacy software applications only function on 32-bit versions. Disk cloning is an entirely different matter, but as others have suggested, setting up a dual boot configuration might be your best path forward...

Usually, psychiatrists are most needed by the people who are absolutely convinced they don't need one in the first place.

You're perfectly fine... that's my final verdict. It’s more about your environment than anything else, though there's likely a phenotypic component at play here too.
Don't mistake being broken or overly conditioned for being "normal." Everyone is entitled to their own idiosyncrasies, provided they don't infringe upon the liberty or rights of others...

And you, true to form, are being incredibly vague and shady.

My motivations for seeking help were never personal; they were always for the sake of others.
I fail to see why there is such a trend toward seeing a psychiatrist when a candid, off-the-record conversation is often superior. In my estimation, you are the primary authority on your own sanity.
If you find yourself uncertain, you may consult me; I tend to be quite blunt.
It is perfectly standard for healthy individuals to experience intrusive, unsettling thoughts due to the thin line between contemplation and impulse. However, those impulses can be quite destructive.

That applies only to those who lack an understanding of ☕ 😁

But one should not be flippant here; if my memory serves me correctly regarding why this discussion about "strange thoughts" was initiated, we are discussing things that have nothing to do with an actual perception of reality.

It would be far more prudent to spend that capital on decent company or perhaps with high-caliber psychiatrists—off the record, of course. 😁 You should discuss this without offering a definitive "conclusion," yet you must conclude why such an approach is fundamentally flawed.

For instance, I used to view my bouts of derealization and depersonalization as something almost interesting—a sort of lucid, creative facet of my personality that helped me channel my artistic side... until I sat down with the professionals and got handed a formal diagnosis.

Those are merely the "aftershocks" that trigger larger waves; if you dig just a little deeper, you eventually arrive at the root cause. You know the old adage—conquer yourself and you have conquered the world.
It truly begs the question: why subject yourself to such torment if you aren't causing harm to anyone else?

Jerry Robinson56, everything you’ve laid out is perfectly sound, and I find myself in almost total agreement with your stance. However, one could argue this from a purely technical perspective. A word in a foreign language doesn't fundamentally alter the cognitive process for someone who actually understands it. That is where the fallacy lies. Whether it is German or French, the impact remains identical to any other tongue—it is all just noise. It seems to me that your disagreement with Monty is predicated on a flawed premise.

I apologize if my tone was somewhat abrasive, but this discussion is centered on "technique," where the facts are quite indisputable. Perhaps we should move this over to the thread regarding alternative improvements; we really ought to address the issue of certain redundant members who force us to constantly reiterate the obvious. It reminds me of that old joke where Bob asks Rudy if he happens to be Chinese...
I would suggest a chilled glass of Italian Pinot Grigio—about three ounces—paired with two ounces of ice water. And please, do serve it in a tall, narrow flute.

I shall request that the administrator or the site moderator review the disputed post and issue a final ruling on the matter.

There is no need to trouble yourself with such heavy lifting. The act of returning itself has become entirely meaningless—much like executing an innocent man. It is clear to anyone paying attention that there is nothing left to gain here. In the interim, he has already squandered everything that was rightfully his. Monty and I have both laid out our positions clearly, proposing a reasonable *modus vivendi*, yet "these people" seem fundamentally incapable of comprehension. Jerry Robinson56 was correct when she took decisive action to clear the slate, but this latest individual failed to act; or perhaps, they simply lacked the decency to be professional. There have been instances where they were caught in blatant falsehoods and resorted to petty scheming. We all stumble, certainly, but only those with actual integrity possess the capacity to admit when they are wrong.

It isn’t an issue that content gets deleted—that is well within your rights—but this particular instance was a massive blunder. This wasn't some technical glitch where someone accidentally hit a button; it was a deliberate decision on her part. Within the blink of an eye, the whole thing just vanished. Honestly, even the most attentive reader wouldn't be able to process a single sentence before it disappears into thin air.
It is becoming increasingly evident that even here, one cannot engage in any semblance of a rational debate. This is due to the presence of certain fanatics who contribute nothing of substance to the conversation; they exist solely to manufacture their own delusions and project them onto everyone else.

Here is a fresh example of what I mean—though, frankly, it’s entirely irrelevant to our current topic. It is quite evident from the very beginning that this individual simply fails to grasp the core issue at hand.
I find myself returning to this particular topic quite often, as it seems to be one of those perennial issues that people love to debate without ever truly grasping the underlying complexities. It is a peculiar habit of certain individuals to jump to conclusions based on surface-level observations, ignoring the structural realities that actually dictate how things function in our society. There is a pervasive sense of misplaced confidence among the masses lately. People speak with such absolute certainty about matters they barely understand, as if their personal anecdotes carry the weight of empirical data. It’s exhausting, frankly. I have spent a significant portion of my life observing these cycles of public fervor—where everyone is shouting at once, yet nobody is actually saying anything of substance. It reminds me of a situation I encountered years ago while working in Chicago. There was a local policy change regarding urban development that caused a similar frenzy. Everyone was convinced they knew exactly how it would play out, only to watch as the reality unfolded in a way that contradicted nearly every prediction made during those heated town hall meetings. The ego involved in being "right" often outweighs the desire to be accurate. One must maintain a level of detachment if one wishes to see clearly. If you allow yourself to get swept up in the emotional current of the moment, you lose the ability to make measured judgments. It is much better to sit back, observe the patterns, and wait for the dust to settle before forming an opinion. Most of what is presented as "breaking news" or "urgent crisis" is merely noise designed to provoke a reaction rather than inform a mind. Jerry Robinson56 seems to believe otherwise, of course. His perspective, while certainly spirited, lacks the necessary nuance required for a serious discussion on this subject. He tends to favor immediate, reactionary solutions over the long-term strategic thinking that is actually required to solve these systemic problems. It is a common pitfall, but a regrettable one nonetheless.
Jerry Robinson56 Jerry Robinson56 said:If someone decides to corner you with a lecture on photons, my advice is simple: prepare for a long, tedious descent into madness. It starts innocently enough—a casual mention of light particles—but before you know it, you’re trapped in some pedantic monologue about quantum mechanics and wave-particle duality that absolutely nobody asked for. It is an exhausting way to spend an afternoon. Go ahead and ask him that. I’d love to hear his explanation on how photons from a filament are somehow capable of filling an entire room that is significantly larger than the filament itself. It is a rather elementary question of physics, really.

And yet, there isn't even a response in sight.🤣

If you end up with him, he’s absolutely worthless—nothing more than a total wash.😂

Even if you respond to him with the relentless, mindless consistency of a garden hose filling a swimming pool, he will inevitably find himself back at square one, utterly bewildered. The fundamental issue remains: the passage of electrons—that flow of electric current—through a filament is what generates photons. It is the very essence of blackbody radiation, a phenomenon that exists independently of any arbitrary temperature scale. 😁...you see, that is precisely the point I am championing. If I didn't know him personally—given his supposed "expert status"—I would be forced to conclude that he is simply playing the fool.
I have crossed paths with some truly remarkable individuals lately, yet I find myself compelled to note that Alatnicar remains an absolute anomaly—a man who possesses a profound, almost impressive capacity for knowing absolutely nothing about anything.

I appreciate you taking the time to respond; it was a generous use of your attention. I realize I haven't provided an exhaustive deep dive into this specific subject yet—and I certainly intend to expand on my position more thoroughly in due course—but the core principles I am laying out here remain universally applicable to everyone on this forum.

Kimberly White63 said:Jerry Robinson56: I won't bother quoting your specific post here; there is an intervening comment between yours and my response, and quite frankly, there is no sense in cluttering up the page with unnecessary scrolling.

You are both right and wrong. I have already cautioned you about indulging in such overly aggressive outbursts; if you continue, I will be forced to delete your posts, which are otherwise perfectly relevant and quite dry.

That is true, but this is where we finally arrive at the crux of the matter. I didn't raise an objection regarding the previous deletions or the instances where my posts were censored—those were legitimate calls, and she was objectively correct to act. However, this latest deletion is nothing short of a disgrace. She scrubbed the post almost instantly without even bothering to read it. To make matters worse, her subsequent "response" was a total farce. I suppose I could grant some leniency there, considering my initial phrasing was somewhat ambiguous, though any reasonable person should have grasped my intent. But once the question was properly articulated? That’s when she resorted to outright lying. One can certainly observe the details laid out in that particular post.

Kimberly White63 said:I find your attacks on our colleague to be entirely misplaced. I am not offering this observation out of some misguided sense of professional solidarity, but rather from a position of sincere conviction. She is genuinely striving to perform her duties to the highest possible standard—a stark contrast to my own recent performance, as I have already candidly admitted in my report that I haven't been putting in much effort lately. I find myself profoundly disillusioned by the overall atmosphere of this PDF, as well as my own utter inability to bring it into any semblance of order..

It is not your responsibility to offer comfort. When you encounter individuals who are pathologically exclusionary and aggressive in their rhetoric, there is no point in attempting to provide solace. In those instances, one finds that the only pragmatic course of action is to mirror their tone; otherwise, any attempt at assistance is entirely futile.
Violence begets more violence—unless, of course, one isn't being sufficiently forceful about it. I realize how blunt that sounds, but it is simply an unyielding law of nature. You aren't going to change certain people by pointing out the truth or attempting to show empathy for "them." Some things are just immutable.

She is failing miserably at her "job," if one can even call it that. This is a technical subject where reality can be proven definitively every single time—take, for instance, that transparent hose filled with water used to establish a level position. Or consider those deleted posts where she so eloquently explained why there isn't a single chair in sight and how the "landing problem" was supposedly solved. Instead of actually addressing the root cause, she simply hides the cure. And let’s be honest, she’s hiding the version that doesn't come with side effects. She approaches her work much like a bureaucrat attempting to justify blatant nepotism.
And where exactly is this topic heading? You can see it for yourself.

Kimberly White63 said:Even your own post serves as a perfect illustration of the point I made earlier: you have a persistent tendency to conflate logical arguments with personal attacks.

One can observe that they aren't immediately clicking... Just look at the sequence involving that particular individual—it’s quite transparent, isn't it? In all my previous posts, there hasn't been a single insult; I have simply been providing clear, logical explanations. Yet, he persists in initiating a new flame in every subsequent thread, only to be met with an entirely civil response each time. Let me be clear: Alternative is not a playground for nonsense or for mocking Natural Science. It is a dedicated pursuit of what is possible.

Unknown is contrary to the forum rules, but if a moderator fails to engage with the "other" side, what choice remains for you? Simply sit there and take it?
I am an atheist😉 and I merely reflect their own image back at them.
Believe it or not, I am capable of writing with clinical precision—believe that instead, and it will hurt more—but this is how it is... we aren't machines, we are human beings.

Furthermore, the repetition of the word "clean" in the post I was referencing was intentional. If you have doubts, specify the word or sentence and I shall clarify, though nothing should be left to uncertainty. Even Brenda Gonzalez12's posts involve a man exhausting himself with explanations, whereas this Unknown finds satisfaction only in trivialities... quite frankly. And even in those little gadgets...

Kimberly White63 said:So, I suggest once again that you attempt to communicate with a bit more composure and think before you steamroll someone (though I realize you might find that difficult since that is simply your way of communicating, and who am I to try to change you).

A good approach is a correct approach. I understand both Brenda Gonzalez12 and several others here, much like Jason Grant, Ibrahim, and many more. It isn't about changing behavior, but about application; collisions are a natural occurrence that invigorate both sides, albeit not simultaneously. The only true insults are lies and injustice... passion can be used as an excuse... I must mention again the example of the moderator who, after an objection was raised, rescinded his warning; he possesses extraordinary logic, and although many criticize him, he is not wrong. And that was the only instance, because the rest were handed out to me personally...
He could have easily noted that I was already in the "clear"... you understand, correctness.

Kimberly White63 said:I don't want to get involved in your relationship with moderators on other forums, but on Alternative, no one has suffered due to a moderator's personal animosity; if that were the case, a few users would have been permanently banned long ago.

That was not my intention, as to quote you, who am I... I simply wanted you to know that the path ahead is predictable and well-trodden. There is no "haggling." If I am wrong, I will admit it and remain silent, accepting the outcome; if I am right, it is game over unless proven otherwise.
A permanent ban might be a cure, but corruption and threats are more potent than execution, and a simpler way is to directly establish an undeniable fact.
If someone refuses to accept that 1+1=2 and denies it entirely...?
Note: technical matters—biological and chemical ones—are delicate.
But one can observe the discrepancy without issue, though there is always room for "two" for the sake of entertainment.
Progress only occurs through the acceptance of the undeniable; everything is written, no matter how bizarre it may seem.

Kimberly White63 said:I will limit my response strictly to what was quoted: the PDF is titled "Science Fringe," and it resides within the Alternative section. The mere presence of the word "science" in the title does not imply that this specific sub-forum operates under different rules or social norms than the rest of the site. If anyone wishes to engage in discussions following the spirit of "Natural Science," they should do so in that specific section.

Look, please don't assume we lack respect for the moderators or fail to grasp the difficult position you find yourselves in; frankly, we are fortunate not to be in your shoes, but...
As I previously stated, science emerges from the Alternative sphere. However, you must understand that the Alternative crowd isn't the issue; rather, it is the utter nonsense they spew to undermine actual knowledge.
They offer no constructive options, only a denial of reality—which, as you know, is typically a symptom of psychological trauma that frequently results in... well, certain psychological profiles. Therefore, one must attempt to educate them using a vernacular they can actually comprehend.

It is perfectly understandable that you feel entitled to take measures that you believe, or hope, will make the topic more engaging. No one is disputing that right.

However, the core issue regarding the unacceptable behavior of gšm is purely technical in nature. It isn't a complex problem; even someone with the intellectual capacity of a toddler could prove its validity through simple experimentation... at which point, we’ll likely see some pseudo-intellectual appearing to lecture us on spirituality. 🤣

Regarding the technicalities, I will submit a formal suggestion for improvement since this isn't the appropriate venue, but I will reiterate: the behavior of gšm is both unacceptable and dishonest. My last post was deleted despite meeting absolutely no criteria for removal, save for the arbitrary whims of gšm. Believe me, she didn't even have the time to read it, yet there were a hundred explanations provided.

Then there are these "polite" posts that have been circling the drain for years from the same individuals, despite everything being clarified via links, logic, and alternative perspectives. As a moderator, perhaps you should ask them what exactly remains unclear... much like asking why a simple water level tube fails to function as a leveling tool.
Ignoring them isn't the solution, because they are simply generating clutter. Meanwhile, others—myself included—are genuinely trying to learn about the unknown or explore different ways of thinking, only to repeatedly encounter people addicted to conflict, essentially forcing you to play the role of an enabler providing solace to the aggrieved.

Furthermore... I have been partially barred from Natural Science due to the similar inclinations of the moderators and their associates, who proved incapable of engaging in actual debate (the same moderator even earned a red mark due to an obsession with me... though they failed to react in time, which another moderator admitted). Consequently, my path is already set, and these matters mean nothing to me, nor should they to you.

That thread turned into a total gutter. Everything I wrote holds true today, regardless of the moderators' expectations. Let's just say that particular individual isn't exactly a paragon of virtue... it isn't about a specific policy, it's just a matter of fact.
If someone is cheating, I won't "help" them just because I am also playing with an advantage.

gšm is utterly unfit, even for Science Fringe, because she cannot even distinguish a standard disagreement from a "flame" war.
I can sympathize with the fact that she doesn't have time to read what doesn't interest her since she already has her own loyal followers... but it is entirely unnecessary and baseless to delete my post when it contained no prohibited content, especially while she goes so far as to lie to the administrator. You are capable of viewing that post and commenting on it yourself, rather than allowing "her" to present a narrative based on other deleted or censored posts to suggest that I am attacking those with differing views... which is merely a clumsy attempt to draw conclusions from a false premise.
As for polite communication, true politeness involves responding openly and directly, not resorting to lies. We are all human, and we all err.

Regarding Brenda Gonzalez12, she is undoubtedly an expert from whom one could learn an immense amount, yet she chooses instead to descend into hysterics and incessantly spout the same absolute garbage. Meanwhile, the moderator sits idly by, taking zero action... it isn't the thief who is truly caught, but rather the one who gets caught ...

And please, don't just suggest we "ignore" them. While ignoring might be easy, ethics dictate that one must extend a hand to the unwell; we shouldn't raise our hands against people like them, nor should we distance ourselves from them (Brenda Gonzalez12 and myself)

Michelle Robinson said:I have intervened in this discussion numerous times to insist on decorum—requesting that everyone communicate politely without resorting to insults or trivialization. It is patently obvious that such an approach yields zero results, given that the current trend has shifted toward mass deletions. Decent communication remains the cornerstone of any functional discourse.
Everyone possesses the right to express their beliefs, regardless of whether those beliefs hold any actual merit, just as they have the right to peddle their fantasies and fringe theories. For anything else, there are plenty of other PDF files available.

Your methodology is a disaster; it bears no relation to a comprehensive alternative, and certainly nothing to pedagogy.

It is quite baffling that you haven't read

The Noetic approach to reality is written by... you simply won't believe it.
Do you even grasp the implication?

I will not dwell on the recent incident where you attempted to defend yourself with falsehoods... suggesting that if one doesn't understand something, one should merely "ask." Furthermore, there is the matter of blatant fallacy, which you fail to sanction despite your desperate desire for "polite" communication.
And please, spare me the "it doesn't hurt" rhetoric. There are individuals here who possess genuine knowledge, people who don't require an internet connection to function, and who exert the necessary effort to demonstrate core truths to forum members of more limited intellectual capacity. Some grasp it, others do not—whether by design or by birth.

You may delete posts or hand out bans as you see fit, but my dear... do not be so incredibly naive as to attempt to hide behind cheap platitudes, regardless of whether this space is a meaningful inquiry or merely a playground for sadomasochistic tendencies.Follow the established rules of the forum rather than your own arbitrary standards, which are fundamentally fraudulent. This is precisely why reality is so fractured; because of this supposed "refinement," you allow others to treat you like a fool, yet when you finally prove that *they* are the fools, you whine and recoil.
Consequently, it is hardly surprising when you call someone a fool or attempt to grade their IQ to facilitate their understanding. All of this, of course, is done in the name of your precious "refinement."🤦

Learn how to communicate properly, then everything will be fine.

Did you even bother to read what was actually written? The message you so expeditiously deleted was an utterly baseless, trolling attempt right here. This isn't about justifying mathematical logic; it's simply a summary of the post, which is glaringly obvious.

So, if you want to practice decent communication, you might try actually responding. If you feel incapable of doing so, we can move forward—hopefully with someone else who can—to issue a warning to you as well for these mindless, threatening remarks. It's quite a nice sentiment you have there: "if the moderator wakes up on the wrong side of the bed, you'll complain..."

Your action is based on which specific sentence from the deleted post?

It is perfectly clear to me how my entry is based on this last point, rather than those posts you either deleted or banned. I didn't complain about those because they contained elements of insult, given the blatant lack of quality from those users who ended up banned... after a long odyssey.

Here is an example that even a visual critic like Unknown would envy....

Don't just click the little icon; the penalty isn't the point, it's the denial of your cheap rhetoric
and the communication with the latter...

Spare us the foolish calculations, the formulas involving square roots, and so on. The matter is simple: those crafts are made of plywood and cardboard; they don't fly. They could serve as nothing more than props for a movie set. Furthermore, how does one explain the heating and cooling for an astronaut at temperatures ranging from -170 to +180 degrees? An astronaut has some sort of box on his back equipped with a VHF antenna (and sound, or electromagnetic waves, cannot travel through a vacuum),

You claim they keep the spacesuits on the floor of the lunar module? Then they aren't sane, because they would be stepping all over the suits. The LEM doesn't even have chairs or belts for the pilot's controls; they operate it standing up. And it remains unclear to me how they control the LEM while standing, given they are essentially weightless—do they just float? On top of that, we have Armstrong chatting with Houston during the entire descent, yet his voice is audible while the rocket engine, producing 150 dB of noise right beneath him, is not? And once he lands and somehow manages to put on those cumbersome suits in such a cramped space, what then? Do they just open the door and walk out? Naturally, one would assume they would need two doors with a decompression chamber between them, but physically, that won't fit in the LEM. The entry and exit processes, along with many other things, are entirely nonsensical. These people are practically magicians. 🤔

Do you understand now? ... she contradicts herself despite the smooth flow of my polite and comprehensive explanations ... thus proving my supposed rudeness, since I have to explain it to you if you cannot see what is written right there.
The alternative isn't mindless babbling, which seems to be what you’re advocating for... let them amuse themselves with religion if they must.

We all make mistakes.
The fact that you have completely misjudged the situation is your own burden, and I suggest you don't attempt to pin it on me.

Everything I assert is backed by mathematical rigor, logical deduction, and empirical tests that anyone can verify, rather than just relying on external links.
It would be highly preferable if a moderator would step forward and clarify exactly what is problematic about my contribution. Or better yet, archive the entire post—for the sake of preserving knowledge—rather than crudely ripping it out of context. It is quite evident from the nature of the inquiries being made that there is a concerted effort to disparage the individuals behind that epic mission.

This is now the third or fourth time this has occurred.
Let us be clear: I am personally unbothered, but it is simply not correct. One assumes that readers and visitors to these forums might actually learn something from our discussions.
Is it truly necessary to demonstrate the progression by which idiocy grows? And what kind of seeds are being left behind?

Consider the instance where I used basic mathematical operations to explain to the user Toolmaker that the Moon's velocity around the Earth is a hundred times slower than what was supposedly "left behind."
By deleting such entries, an untrue and foolish claim is allowed to persist as the foundation for burgeoning stupidity. Whether someone is merely talking nonsense or actively distorting reality, how can we be expected to use scientific terminology regarding disrupted reality... heaven forbid! Who is being insulted here—is it common sense (not mine 😁) when posts reflecting objective facts are erased?

If a moderator has an objection, I request they state it clearly. I shall find it quite simple to prove, both logically and semantically, why they are mistaken. This isn't just about forum rules; shouldn't those rules apply equally to everyone?
Regardless of one's status or seniority.

These two are absolutely brutal... As far as the ending of No Country for Old Men goes... you have yet another heavyweight performance—actually, two heavyweights—and a promise kept true...

It isn't just that both films are excellent and the crews involved are top-tier; it’s that Kevin Spacey delivers a performance of pure, chilling reality, characterized by a total absence of emotion, matched only by superb direction.

To be more precise, the error message explicitly states "NO WRITER FOUND."
Printing is also completely non-functional, even when attempting to send jobs directly from the macOS interface.

There is a 99.9% chance you are dealing with a faulty USB Implementers Forum cable or a bad port—it's almost certainly a hardware failure. It’s quite common for the system to lose track of the device if the drivers were originally configured while it was plugged into a different port.
Your best bet is to swap out the cables or just buy a new one for roughly $3.25.
