My deadline is just three days away, and I can't deal with what's happening. Since last week, people have been calling me constantly, blowing up my phone with texts, or even posting on my Facebook wall. It’s getting to the point where I’m questioning my own sanity.
I honestly don't have the energy or the patience left to answer the phone when it rings. I really don't.
My mother actually brought up this whole idea of bringing children back to life too. I just attribute all of it to the generational gap and a lack of education.
My mother-in-law is great, but she and my mom didn't see a single OB-GYN until they were actually in labor (honestly, that shocked me). Now, every one of my checkups becomes an experience for her; she’s always asking what the doctor said or how everything went. She isn't being annoying or pushy, but I already know that once I have kids, my own family will be a bigger handful than hers.
My latest "nerve-wracking" encounter happened a few days ago when my neighbor called me fat. And she actually had the nerve to smirk while doing it. I just don't get people. First off, I’m not fat—I’m pregnant. Second, I’m not even a heavy pregnant woman. Third, how much of an idiot do you have to be to call a pregnant woman fat? It’s as absurd as calling someone in a wheelchair "stunted."
People can be absolute trash.
Sometimes I’m not the type to make a scene. Instead, I just sit there and vent internally. I know, I’m pretty foolish when it comes to stuff like that.
Here’s a fresh example from yesterday: I was standing in line at Target, and there was nobody behind me, just two women ahead of me finishing up their checkout. Suddenly, this woman just smoothly slides right between me and them, acting like she’s next in line.
Honestly, I had to fight the urge to lose my cool completely. First off, I was clearly the only one waiting in line. Secondly, you can't exactly mistake me for being pregnant—I have a bump. I just don't understand people who blatantly pretend they're blind. I also don't get the cashier, who saw I was pregnant and couldn't even find the nerve to tell that lady to back off and let me go first.
I swear, once I actually have this baby, I’m going to be pushing that stroller right through anyone in my way. My patience for this stuff is officially gone.
I have to mention that even before I was pregnant, those constant questions about "so, when are you having a baby?" or "what are you waiting for?" used to drive me absolutely insane.
Now, both my partner and I are deep in the middle of fertility testing and IVF treatments. We’ve been at this forever, and honestly, there isn't a lower point you can hit than this. People can be incredibly insensitive, poking their noses into things that simply aren't any of their business.
So, I’m officially 35 now, and I am getting seriously tired of people asking if I'm "counting down."
I honestly feel like a ticking time bomb with those big green digital numbers flashing ominously...
And don't even get me started on the endless stream of "just wait until you have kids" comments. It makes me want to lose my mind...
Do you have any other pregnancy symptoms that prompted you to take a test this early, like before your period was even due?
It makes sense to me that results might vary in the morning since your urine is most concentrated after sleeping through the night. But honestly, since you tested so early, I'm not entirely sure anymore. Your best bet is to wait for your next period; if it shows up, fine, and if not, just head to Planned Parenthood like you mentioned once you hit your deadline. There's no point in buying more tests right now.
If that first morning urine was positive, then in my opinion, it’s a positive. For instance, I took a test on day 28 of my cycle and saw that faint second line indicating pregnancy, and I really was pregnant.
When was your last period? Are your cycles usually regular or irregular?
You should always use your first urine of the morning for a pregnancy test; you shouldn't have even bothered testing this afternoon. It would have been better to save it and wait to test again in a few days if you think there's no way you could be pregnant.
I honestly thought I had finally reached that Zen state where nothing gets under my skin anymore. Then, yesterday, I walk into the local bakery—where I only see the owner once every few months—and she looks at me and goes, "Wait, you haven't had the baby yet???"
Otfak.
It’s incredibly frustrating how forgetful I’ve become lately. It feels like my brain has completely checked out. I am honestly just counting down the days until I give birth and finally get my mental clarity and memory back 🙂
The only thing getting on my nerves right now is how nobody seems happy when I tell them I'm doing well. If I say I'm good or—heaven forbid—great, everyone just gives me this disappointed look. Like, wtf?
I’m with Michael King on this one.
I’m 21, and I happen to be one of those people who has a flat, barely visible stomach 🙂 even though I eat plenty. It drives me crazy when people ask stupid questions like, "Are you even eating anything?" or "Don't starve yourself." Honestly, my apologies if I didn't eat a massive feast just so I could fit into all my clothes.
As for touching my stomach—especially since mine is so small—it’s well below my belly button, yet people constantly try to poke me above the navel or near my ribs. Get it together, everyone. Ask first, and then MAYBE you can touch me.
