Should R. Čačić just step down from politics already? in Close to Politics ·
swiftwalker43 said:I'll just offer an unofficial opinion here—from a traffic cop with 15 years under his belt, a degree in traffic studies, and plenty of accident scene experience. I asked him what he thought, assuming the driver of the struck vehicle was telling the truth when she said she was doing at least 100-68 miles mph. Based on the rear-end damage and what was visible, he thinks that if Čačić hit the car in front of him at least 60-44 miles mph faster than the lead vehicle, it means Čačić was traveling somewhere between 160 and 112 miles mph at the moment of impact. He concluded it’s most likely Čačić fell asleep or was distracted by something else, failing to even see the car ahead until the collision occurred; you can tell because both cars stayed in the same lane and collided perfectly parallel.

Not trying to step on anyone's toes here, but that kind of speculation doesn't carry much weight...

It’s pathetic.

Again, the comparison feels a bit forced...

Bandić was a mayor, elected by the people... and let's not forget he was drunk, refused the breathalyzer, and just drove off from the scene...

Meanwhile, Čačić holds his position through party appointment—if we're strictly talking about his party role...

As far as I recall, even Mile didn't resign from the party...

And I suppose Čačić will eventually resign from HTS and HOO...

Ready for anything, with a conscience as thick as a brick, devoid of shame or moral integrity—a complete psychopath. He even leveraged this entire situation for his own self-promotion because he knows 90% of the media outlets back him up, pushing the political agenda to which this ego-driven maniac belongs.

Knowing his arrogant attitude and condescending behavior, to me, he is nothing more than a common vehicular killer.
Traffic accidents can happen to anyone. However, several total write-offs and the deaths of two people is no accident.

Furthermore, the behavior of the American media and how they coddle Čačić's psychopathic ego is truly revolting.

Does anyone with half a brain actually believe he feels any level of guilt?

Please, the only thing a dark soul like him fears is an American prison and the threat to his own skin.

So, what you're saying is, if accidents happen to you through no fault of your own, it somehow proves you're guilty when you *do* cause one?

Interesting logic there...

So what’s the excuse for a road rager?!
"I got dizzy"? "I wasn't paying attention"??
Or was he "provoked" by the slow driver in front of him too?
All bullies are cut from the same cloth.!!!

Fine then, you go wait for the final verdict while the rest of us actually talk
and debate things....

So, unlike you!!!!

Who do you think you are—the supreme online judge?
The moderator? The guy who started this thread???!!!

I don't get it—are you Čačić's digital spokesperson now? His defense attorney?...

Did you act this way in any other thread?!?!
Were we supposed to wait for the election results before talking about those too!?!?!

First off, you actually have to prove someone is a "road rage criminal"...

Second, it’s pretty clear you aren't reading between the lines here. I’m not defending Čačić; I’m just saying we should probably wait for actual facts to come out before jumping to conclusions...

The only time I actually "defended" him was regarding that comparison to Žužić, which—let's be honest—is completely ridiculous and doesn't hold water at all... except, apparently, in your eyes...

briskbison55 said:I put the word expert in quotes, didn't I? Actually, whatever. They'll figure everything out once they check the skid marks.

And I tried looking for where the fog was, but no luck... plus, the police spokesperson isn't even a party to the proceedings or a witness...

Exactly, she’s just relaying what the cops found on the scene about 15 minutes after the crash happened.

Čačić offered money to the families right away, so now we just have to see if Canada decides to drop the prosecution. I doubt it, but who knows.

The real question here—and I mean this, let's be serious for a second—is whether there’s actually any evidence of skid marks.

Just because he’s throwing money at those families doesn't mean a damn thing—it's basically just a band-aid on a bullet wound. If he actually wants to save his own skin, he's going to need more than a checkbook; he needs to be looking over his shoulder for private lawsuits regarding emotional distress and damages. Money won't fix this.

That’s it then... nothing left to say.

swiftwalker43 said:I think I saw it on ABC yesterday, or maybe the day before—they mentioned that in Canada, the penalty for a situation like this would be anywhere from two to eight years behind bars.

It’s just like how certain lawyers were out there claiming a suspended sentence was totally on the table... though, honestly, I can't help but wonder if Čačić had some sort of hand in nudging them toward that narrative. Who knows...

So, we're in for quite a show here...

That's why I'm actually looking forward to the trial—it'll be a real eye-opener to see how the legal system operates over in the European Union.

Obviously, courts didn't exist before this forum
and since they started, you aren't even allowed to post on here
about anything until the court hands down an official ruling
since we're all basically parties to the case or legal reps ourselves!!

The court, unlike us mere mortals, actually has access to the facts...

Especially since the accident happened overseas...

briskbison55 said:Yeah, well, you could probably just go online yourself and find out exactly where the fog was rolling in that day, if the police spokesperson's statement wasn't enough for you. And then there's that one "expert" of ours claiming that the damage to the car couldn't possibly have been caused by the speed Čačić mentioned.

That "expert" we're talking about was Željko Marušić... maybe do a little digging into why he got canned from the FBI and ended up working in traffic control instead...

Anyway, I tried looking up the fog situation myself, but came up empty... and honestly, the police spokesperson isn't even a party to the case or a witness here...

Like I said, let's just wait for the trial to play out... personally, I'm more interested in when this whole thing is actually going to kick off...

Just so we don't end up with things dragging on forever like they do back home...

People are back at it again, trying to draw lines between little Žužić and Čačić...

The fallout ends up looking pretty much the same, sure—but the circumstances under which this all went down are night and day, and honestly, comparing them just does Žužić dirty...

That last sentence actually fits the topic perfectly!!!
And your promise too!

Hey, you're out here speculating and giving your opinion too.
Why shouldn't everyone else on this board be allowed to do the same?
This is the politics section—pure political chatter, not even a legal forum!!
If you want to debate court rulings, go hit the Law sub!

It wasn't an accident, especially knowing what kind of driver he is!!!
Just like how nobody "accidentally" becomes a violent person in society...
Nobody "accidentally" becomes a reckless driver either!!

Comparing domestic violence or social aggression to "violence" on the road is a stretch...

Because most people who act out in society will always use the dumbest excuse possible: "I was provoked"...

And no, I'm not speculating about the crash itself—I'm just pointing out that we need to wait for the court's verdict...

briskbison55 said:Exactly. It’s like if someone sees fog that wasn't there earlier and ends up speeding on a slick road. There was no intent to cause harm, sure, but honestly, that isn't really the point or even worth debating. It happened. Now we just wait and see if having enough money can actually keep him out of prison.

It’s true that nobody knows exactly what led up to the crash... and right now, everything is still just pure speculation...

But courts don't make rulings based on guesswork—they rely on forensic evidence and expert testimony...

So, if you actually have some inside info on this, please, do us all a favor and share it...

swiftwalker43 said:Give it a rest already. Stop being so angry; accidents happen to everyone. It’s true, they happen, but some people seem to have them more often than others. With Čačić's constant, frantic driving—having three totaled cars and god knows how many dozens of traffic tickets—it was really just a matter of time before this happened. Should we wait until he causes a wreck involving a bus full of kids? To all those people defending Čačić: would you still be making excuses for him and dodging his legal and political accountability if your own child was on that bus, and by some miracle, escaped without serious injury—or worse, suffered devastating consequences?

Honestly, it’s exactly because of posts like this that we even have a court system...

It is incredibly difficult to remain objective when emotions are running high, which is precisely why the courts exist—to follow the law while maintaining enough distance to reach a fair verdict...

And yeah, sure, anyone could have been in an accident... it falls under the category of "unforeseen circumstances" rather than intentional harm...

But that doesn't mean we're defending Čačić, nor does it mean the judge will view "accidents happen" as a valid legal defense when handing down a sentence...

I get it, but I can still draw parallels regarding responsibility!
Especially if your take on things is the same!

Particularly when you try to drop evidence right after celebrating those handball wins!
😍

Which, by the way, you actually did—you’ve got that footage right there showing that Cervar isn't even standing on the podium when the medals are handed out, let alone wearing one around her neck...☕

And honestly, all this stuff about Gobac Červar putting the roster together or deciding who makes the cut—like what Metličić does—is just creating alibis for their placement. It has absolutely nothing to do with Čačić...

Look, if you're so obsessed with Cervar, go ahead and start a whole new thread about him—I won't stop you—or maybe just wander over to the Sports subforum instead...

I have zero intention of trolling here...

The topic of this discussion is Čačić. If you can't manage to read a simple thread title, maybe find someone else to do it for you...

Unlike Lin Cervar!

Look, unlike Linek—who basically just goes along for the ride—Čaččić actually stepped up, took ownership of his actions, and acted like he was actually the one steering the ship...

Which is a far cry from Cervar, where it feels like someone else is always at the wheel...

To put it bluntly...

Let’s just be real here—no matter what he does, he’s going to look like the bad guy anyway...

If he stays quiet, it looks like he's hiding from the public or trying to dodge accountability for his actions—which, again, would make him seem cold and irresponsible or whatever...

It’s the same old story whether he shows up on TV or stays out of the spotlight...

casualangler9 said:The first part of the show was just a confused mess; once he started talking about the budget, I lost all empathy for him. He knows he’s playing games—you can see it in his expression in those final shots when everything was already decided. If you can contradict what he said every five minutes, it’s basically just a lesson in PR spin.
And regarding how many friends he claims to have who were responsible for fatal car accidents—I have plenty of friends, and not one of them has ever committed such a crime. In my experience growing up, I've known quite a few people 🙂

Was it a mere coincidence that killed those people, or was it his "arrogance and culture of violent behavior"?
Take the Australian Heath Ledger. He was an addict who accidentally took too much one night; did he really die just by pure accident due to a simple addiction? He didn't lead a dark life, but the media covered up everything about his family life, his little kid, and his wife. And if you look at his last role in Batman, the man plays the darkest character I've ever seen... it's more than that, it feels like he's promoting dark behavior through the role.

When you talk about "arrogance and violent behavior," it feels like you're describing nothing but Democratic Party members on this forum throughout history. Some might say it's cosmic karma finally catching up to a powerful negative influence in this country.
It's being put on display so people can finally realize that people like this kill the human spirit,
whether through death or sickness. It's tragic.

May God remove him from public life so America can live! ☕

What a load of absolute nonsense...

From bringing up the late Ledger to dragging in R. Čačić... and now suddenly America can't live because of Čačić... give me a break. It's laughable...

Scott Cruz4 said:Alright, fine—but how many years behind bars does the law actually call for when someone "unintentionally" causes a traffic accident that ends in a fatality?

Usually somewhere between one and five years here in the States...

But he’s clearly not facing any real consequences over here...

Harold Wright6 said:Since when is probation the standard punishment for causing the deaths of two people? And civil damages have nothing to do with criminal prosecution.

You're just parroting whatever headlines were running in the papers back then...

Maybe those lawyers were just feeding the press certain narratives—purely self-serving moves to clear a path for Čačić's defense...

Though, I doubt politics will even play a role here, seeing as the trial is being held overseas...

I'm honestly just wondering how long it’ll take before this actually hits a courtroom...
