Astrology Forum in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Hello,
A while back, I received a permanent ban from the astrology subforum—though if I recall correctly, the reasons were always a bit fuzzy to me (I don't think I was quite tuned into the specific topics being debated at the time, even though I wasn't exactly a frequent contributor).
Since I haven't been active on the forum lately, I’ve been able to read the astrology articles just by browsing without logging in.
Now that I'm feeling a bit more social and have been logging in regularly, I've run into a snag: whenever I try to read an article in the astrology section, I can't because of that permanent ban..
It's become this annoying routine where I have to log out, read, and then log back in.
Honestly, it's such a hassle.
I don't feel much like posting there, but I do enjoy reading the content.

Is there any way my permanent ban could be reviewed and potentially lifted?

Thank you.

So, what's the real reason? 🤔 😁

bluemason3 said:You aren't being objective because of your little feud. I'm not sure if Fish is right this time, but generally, I'd say he's a pretty solid moderator.

I’ll admit—I am definitely being subjective here.

Up until now, I've always maintained—and I still stand by it—that I actually enjoy reading Fish's posts; I find them quite good—clear, concise, and without any fluff. So, it's entirely possible that Fish is a high-quality mod in that regard...

However,

can someone explain what exactly I'm being accused of? ☕
Because it's pretty obvious that Fish views me as some kind of villain just looking to mess with his head.

Or maybe I'm just irrelevant and he doesn't want to bother with me? 😉

Actually, my apologies—he already made it clear that he doesn't need my input. 🤣

I'm logging off now so I can go read the drama elsewhere.☕

Look, I don't go looking for trouble there (except maybe with her and Mittzek—they just know how to push my buttons)—and I am certainly not a clone.
If you actually bother to read what the lead moderator is posting, she's basically just gushing about her crush on Jean Ren, and honestly, even Javier Bardem wouldn't be off the table for her. ☕
Between the hair trends, shoes, and bathroom decor, there's more fluff in there than a horoscope column.
I'll admit, Scorpios can be pretty good lovers. 😁

Not even close.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, though. 🙂

And she basically has her own little private corner to play in. Yuck. 😁

Their whole explanation (and by the way, Fish is still exactly what I claimed it was from the start) is complete nonsense, and you know it.

Honestly, everything I’ve vented about here feels pretty insignificant compared to how much Fish fails at actually moderating.

I mean, credit where credit is due—she definitely knows her astrology—but she just doesn't have the chops for leadership.
☕

p.s. Just to be clear, the people on this sub have absolutely nothing to do with my actual life back home 😬
(since you brought up my personal business ☕ ))

hollowtrucker77 said:From what I can gather, the mods have decided to keep the astrology chat reserved specifically for those who actually practice it or have a genuine interest in the subject.

I don't personally get involved in the discussions, but I am definitely interested. So, what’s our next move? There are plenty of people out there interested in astrology—I don't see any reason why I should be barred from even reading this subforum.

If this chat is strictly reserved for astrology enthusiasts, then that really should be made clear—otherwise, I’ll just go ahead and stay out of it.

However, the action itself just proves what we’ve all been hinting at—that there's a real "old boys' club" forming within the company.

☕

Don't worry about being late—I've got plenty of time to kill. 😍
bluemason3 As requested:
So, there wasn't really any room for the space enthusiasts originally—I'm certainly not one to claim expertise there myself, so I just stayed in my lane. As for her joining that specific chat, I think she mostly ended up there because of another forum.

A man tells the truth. ☕

hollowtrucker77 said:Well, since we have the "General Discussion" subforums available, I don't really see much point in hanging around the astrology section just for the sake of having a chat.

🤔
I don't even hang around this chat much—not really my scene. 😉
I drop in occasionally. I'm a skydiver.
I used to post a lot more back in the day—but honestly, after everything Fish put me through, I just didn't feel much like showing my face around here anymore.
I decided to join this chat because—as I mentioned before—my interests go a bit beyond just sex and eroticism. ☕)

So, my chat has basically dwindled down to me just popping in occasionally to say hi to certain people—you know I love you guys, bluemason3 is a total legend, haven't seen Papica in ages, and hey there, Adiam. 🤔Without making a big deal out of it, I just wanted to ask a quick question that they might actually be able to answer—without starting an entirely new thread, since I’m constantly being accused of being a bot and feeding everyone fake info, blah blah... 😕

That being said—I suppose even that was a bit much. 😁

So, following my own little "astrological" logic here—if I want to reach out to some of my favorite people on this forum without bothering everyone at once—I guess I should just send them individual DMs, right? 😂

Since I haven't heard back from the moderators, I’d like to request an official statement from the site admin.
A few other points to address:

How is it that posts directed at me by mittzeka haven't faced any consequences? Shouldn't she receive at least a warning for her insults? It feels inconsistent—why is certain behavior tolerated for some users while others face a permanent ban?

I've also noticed the astrology subforum has gone completely quiet lately. Only a handful of threads are active, and it seems newcomers are strictly blocked from participating until they satisfy the demands of the few remaining regulars there. ☕

From what I gather, quite a few people have stopped posting there entirely because of how the moderator handles things.

Here is the link to the thread and the specific moment that led to my permanent ban.
It isn't even that long—you could easily skim through it in about two minutes.
One of my posts was removed—somewhat clumsily, I might add—because it contained all my frustration regarding her rather blunt way of speaking, which is something that might have earned me a ban (though not a permanent one).😬

I would appreciate a response regarding this matter.🙂

My apologies—it seems I’ve been banned because the moderators (whether it's Fish or someone else over there) decided my input wasn't quite necessary for this subforum ☕

So, effectively, I can't read the posts and I can't participate in the chat (which, honestly, I rarely do anyway) simply because the mods feel my contributions don't fit their vision.

It's a strange way to look at things, really.🙄

And if Fish isn't feeling particularly formal today, I'd love to just run my modest thoughts by the other moderator instead.😁

First off—it hurts my feelings that I got a permanent ban, and honestly, you don't even have to lift a finger to overturn it—but I have every right to call out the nonsense moderator Fish is pulling here. ☕

Ever since I registered on this forum, she’s been convinced I’m some kind of clone. Of course, she never actually specified whose clone she thinks I am, despite me asking her countless times.

After being relentlessly targeted by her—basically, I’d drop into that subforum to ask a question, and she and her sidekick Mittzek would start labeling me as "unstable," telling me to stick to the general boards, or saying I needed to be in "quarantine"—well, all for no reason on my part—even the other users there started keeping their distance. It meant my questions almost always went unanswered.

I’ve ignored them until today. Truly, I have. And it’s been a year since I joined.
Today, I finally lost my cool and told them exactly what they are.
Basically—they are tiny, insignificant people for withholding actual information from me (like whose clone I supposedly am), refusing to quote me, and making passive-aggressive posts about me...

It's enough to drive anyone crazy. My issue isn't even the permanent ban—that subforum isn't that vital to me anyway—it's the constant promotion of lies and the way they completely ignore my questions.

I’m not trying to stop this nonsense—clearly, that’s impossible—but let it be known that the moderator treats the astrology section like her own private kingdom, and little by little, she is systematically driving everyone else away.

So, who is this "clone" supposed to be?
And honestly, I’d love for them to come forward—if not, at least answer the admins regarding who they think I'm imitating.

By the way, I got banned because I called the moderator a jerk. ☕

If anyone knows a better word to describe spineless cowardice that isn't quite as rude, I'm all ears. ☕

Fish—go ahead, prove you aren't just a coward and tell me whose clone I am. 😁
Is having five kids actually worth it? in Psychology ·
briskpuma23 said:I know it’s not exactly trendy to advocate for large families these days, unless you’re coming from the Catholic Church—but it’s easy for them to talk when they don't even recognize their own kids.

To be clear, my stance on needing at least five kids has nothing to do with some nonsense about "procreation" or any kind of moral crusade.

The truth is, you have children for your own sake.

When our time finally runs out, most people—especially people today—will find it pretty hard to sing My Way while looking back at their lives as a selfless sacrifice for others. There's no way. Most of us are just focused on how to cut corners, how to get the most out of life while spending the least, how to hustle, how to score a weekend trip to a beach house, then head to work, maybe join a committee, and so on. In short, we'd rather people didn't judge us by our actions.

And given the kind of shallow people society has turned us into, we can barely manage to bring one child into this world; having two would already feel like an incredible sacrifice.

Because we are so spiritually numb and, let's be honest, lazy and immature, we’ll probably end up ruining the kid too. We’ll pass all our neuroses down to them, instill hypochondria and cynicism, blast them with antibiotics the second they cough, and then complain at the office about how "fragile" our child is. Besides, if you spend your time talking about your kid at work, only the worst kind of boss would actually trust you with a serious project. So, that one child becomes the perfect excuse to stay lazy and avoid doing any real work.

But again, after fifty or sixty years of dodging actual life, retirement rolls around with its tiny pension, and you realize that your one precious child doesn't really love you. They’re busy living their own selfish little lives with an equally rotten spouse and an only child of their own—an obnoxious, spoiled brat who won't even bother to visit Grandma. That's when you realize you have nobody.

That wouldn't happen if you had managed to have five kids. Granted, one would probably be an idiot. One might get hit by a bus, but that still leaves you with three healthy individuals. Healthy because, by necessity, they had to learn how to share, and because you didn't have enough time to focus all your dysfunction on just one person, they didn't develop those stupid neuroses. Plus, a big family naturally builds a competitive spirit, starting from when they're toddlers fighting over fries at McDonald's during a Happy Meal you take them to on Sundays because you're too lazy to cook a Sunday roast.

And those three healthy ones will actually love you. They’ll remember how warm and happy the home felt, conveniently forgetting the fact that it was only warm because you could only afford to give them one bedroom. They’ll turn all the flaws of their upbringing into beautiful memories. And they’ll take care of you in your old age because they grew up to be decent people. When you die, someone will actually cry for you. And honestly, there’s nothing more a person can wish for than that.

whatever happens, happens🙄
There are five of us—we're basically just counting down the days until we can finally have some peace from our parents. My dad doesn't even live with us anymore because keeping up with four daughters and one disinterested son is just too much work for him, and Mom... well, she moved out for a few years before eventually coming back.🙄
I guess we're stuck with her forever.

Sometimes I honestly feel like she doesn't even love us; she just uses us as a prop so people will tell her, "Wow, you're such an amazing mother." Honestly, forget that. We’re young, we’re healthy, we actually enjoy each other's company—and then she shows up with that whole "I brought you into this world" attitude.🙄

I am definitely not having any kids. I'd rather die alone than raise someone who is just waiting for me to kick the bucket.

Love and respect are things you have to earn.
Deep down, we all have that "but she's our mom" mindset, but there are so many times we find ourselves daydreaming about how great life was when we were on our own.

Anyway.

Having five kids is great if you want your house to be loud and chaotic 24/7.👋

I love my sisters and my idiot brother.🙂

You’re the type who just waits to see which way the wind blows before deciding where to go.
That’s a valid way to live, I suppose.
Which is why I mentioned earlier that some people are pioneers, while others are merely followers, simply adapting to the world as others shape it for them.

Hey there, pioneer. 😬

That’s why I mentioned earlier that some people are pioneers, while others are just followers who go along with whatever everyone else decides.

Well, I guess the pioneers know best—no point in me trying to act smart by stating the obvious, right? 🥳

Charles Howard said:The obvious differences aren't there, but you have to look beneath or perhaps beyond the surface level constraints. That’s when the distinctions become apparent: how one views the world, their general approach to life, how they handle the "baggage" we all carry, and so on.
I didn't say you were unhappy, but there are certainly differences in worldview. As there are differences in how one defines happiness.

Like what, specifically? Give me an example ☕ where I’d be perfectly happy with a million dollars in the bank, but you'd still find some way to argue that it isn't "true" fulfillment.
Is that it?

A person just needs to be able to find a little contentment now and then 😬 🤣

slymaker9 said:Exactly. So the question remains: have we overstepped at some point? Has the beast broken free from its leash, dominating us until we became slaves to it while it pulls the strings? Or does the individual still hold the reins? Is progress simply a revolution destined to consume its own children?

My great-great-great-great-grandchild will probably be the one to answer that question for you...😁

The urge to accumulate stuff has been part of our DNA forever—everything from hoarding bones in a cave to chasing modern status symbols. But there’s a catch today: we tend to overlook what actually matters. We forget about spiritual wealth, which is the only thing capable of providing lasting happiness. In my view, that’s the only kind of prosperity truly worthy of the title.

Personally, I feel like that's all just fairy tales for kids—it seems to me people just use that talk to line their own pockets.😁

Sorry, but could someone please list the actual qualities of a "spiritual" person—in an everyday, real-world setting—that would make them any different from someone like me? How exactly is that person wealthier or happier, while I'm somehow left behind?
Man, society, progress, and spirituality in Spirituality ·
slymaker9 said:I don't think we can make a blanket statement here.
Certain individuals are more ambitious, greedier, more inquisitive, more intelligent, or braver—they act as pioneers and pull the rest of society toward what they perceive as a goal. Meanwhile, others are often simply forced to adapt to the reality that has already been established.

And one could easily just isolate themselves and pull away from the rest of society 😁 I’m thinking of various retreats, monasteries, or even communes...

Actually, I’ve lost my train of thought here 🤔 I was talking about a very human trait I notice all around me—specifically that "the human heart always needs something; it's never truly satisfied" and that this exact impulse is what drove the "progress"—or rather, the evolution—of our modern American civilization 🤷

The truth is, we don't actually need much—three meals a day is probably overkill, you can get through a day without the internet, you can even sleep on a wooden floor... yet, because of that constant drive to improve, we've arrived at this age of convenience, technology, and scientific advancement.
Man, society, progress, and spirituality in Spirituality ·
slymaker9 said:Now, that is an interesting thesis, though it is phrased rather curtly. I would appreciate it if you could expand on that point a bit more.

I feel the same way 😬—that’s really just the starting point for my broader theory. 😁

What can I say? Honestly, it seems we’re never quite satisfied. 🤷 Maybe I’m overthinking things and applying this whole philosophy to trivial matters, but it feels like people are never happy with "enough"—they've never been. There's always this constant drive to get more, and more, and more. Whether it's pure curiosity or something else entirely, I'm not sure; I just think the hardest part is learning to be content with what we have. That’s why I’m focusing on that one specific sentence of yours—it just doesn't seem to hold up to scrutiny. 🤔

One of my favorite thinkers and philosophers, Toma Bebić, captures this beautifully in this song (though unfortunately, I could only find the version covered by Banov):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6v5xuBSI7T4

What do we actually need to survive? Food, clothing, shelter, understanding, acceptance, and love from others—that’s it. Some people also require spirituality, while others feel they don't need it at all.

If we look back at history, people worked hard to secure their basic necessities. Once those needs were met, it brought them a genuine sense of satisfaction, achievement, and fulfillment.

So, what has progress actually given us? While life is easier and more convenient in many ways, we are constantly bombarded with information. We are told we can't live without every single thing on the market, and we are perpetually categorized, ranked, and labeled.
Essentially, we have been turned into tools serving capital. Even those who possess wealth are, in a sense, instruments of it, because at some point, money takes control and usurps power over its supposed owner.
Capital has become both a god and a tyrant on this earth. Like water, it always finds a crack to seep through, turning things around in ways no drill ever could.
Some have embraced this easily, making capital their god; others struggle with it, seeking answers, peace, and even solace in spirituality.
Despite all the advancements and conveniences progress has provided, people today are unhappy, alienated, tired, and exhausted.
It seems to me that we are unhappier, more exhausted, and more disconnected than ever before.
We have distanced ourselves from nature, from God, from one another, and in part, from our very essence.
Is progress a revolution that will eventually consume its own children?
P.S. I hesitated between posting this in Philosophy or Spirituality, but I decided Spirituality was the better fit.
If the moderators feel another subforum is more appropriate, I have no objection to moving it.

But honestly, we need a massive amount. I think all this relentless "progress" just proves that point—if we actually only needed the basics, we'd still be out there gathering fruit 😁
