I was watching a game the other night—nothing special, just a mid-season matchup on a Tuesday—and I found myself getting increasingly frustrated with the constant dugout chatter. It’s not that I don't respect the tactical genius of a modern manager; I get it, the analytics are mind-blowing and the data is incredibly precise. But there’s something about the constant, heavy-handed intervention from the bench that feels like it’s stripping the soul out of the competition.

We’ve moved into an era where every single movement is scrutinized, every pitch type is calculated by a computer in a room somewhere, and every decision seems to be filtered through a dozen different layers of "optimization." It’s efficient, sure. It’s probably "smarter" in a purely mathematical sense. But is it actually better baseball? To me, it feels like we're turning a high-stakes psychological duel into a glorified math equation.

I remember watching old clips of the greats—the legends who seemed to have this telepathic connection with their battery mates. There was a rhythm to it. You could see the catcher reading the hitter, sensing the slight hesitation in a batter's stance, or noticing how a pitcher's grip was slightly off due to the humidity. That "gut feeling" was a legitimate skill. It was an intuitive, human element that couldn't be captured by a spreadsheet. When a manager steps in to call a specific sequence just because the "win probability" says so, it feels like they are overriding the lived experience and the instinct of the people actually standing on the dirt.

There’s a specific kind of magic in seeing two players—the one throwing and the one receiving—lock into a flow state where they are essentially playing a game of chess against the hitter in real-time. When that flow is interrupted by a signal from the dugout, that tension breaks. It’s like watching a jazz musician start playing a beautiful, improvisational solo, only for the conductor to tap them on the shoulder and say, "Actually, play these exact notes instead." The technical execution might be perfect, but the spontaneity and the raw, human agency are gone.

I worry that by over-managing the micro-details, we are actually making the players less capable. If you always have a voice in your ear telling you exactly what to do, when do you learn how to think for yourself? When do you learn how to read a situation, adjust to a changing wind, or sense that a hitter is leaning too heavily on his front foot? We are essentially training a generation of specialists to be highly efficient components in a machine, rather than masters of their craft. We're prioritizing the "correct" statistical outcome over the development of intuition and autonomy.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not suggesting we go back to the dark ages of pure guesswork. The data has its place, and it's undoubtedly helped the game evolve. But there has to be a balance. There has to be room for the players to own their decisions, to take the risks, and to live with the consequences of their own choices. That's where the drama comes from. That's where the greatness is forged. If every decision is pre-ordained by a coaching staff or an algorithm, then the players are just actors following a script, and the outcome feels less like a victory and more like a calculation.

I’m curious to see if anyone else feels this "over-optimization" fatigue. Do you think the increased level of coaching and data-driven decision-making has genuinely made the game better, or have we traded the human element for a sterile kind of perfection?

Jessica Grant56 said:Thanks for clearing that up.🙂 It’s actually pretty simple... though now I'm left wondering 😂—I mean, I'll try, but seriously—why aren't there any smileys for peppers, Luke, or tomato salad??? 🙂 Still, I'm very 🙂 and sending you your favorite one... 🙂 (is that supposed to be a dig?!???)

And what about this other thing?!? Come on, we really have nothing to talk about... or anyone to talk to. Who needs what?? Luke! And water.

Oh, wait, I almost forgot... She says you're being SHREWD, so maybe Luke is up to something suspicious here?!?

What a pathetic group. No wonder you guys use some masochistic program just to stroke your own egos...

Henry Edwards33 said:It’s far from perfect. Claiming that I’m insisting things are flawless or that I’m ignoring posts is just poking the bear to get a reaction out of me. Honestly, I don't go looking for perfection in anything in life. I'm not a complete idiot. 🙂

Just because I haven't used it lately doesn't mean I'm out of the loop. I deal with plenty of people I talk to regularly—mostly accountants and service techs—and I'm constantly hearing their complaints.

I hear those complaints all the time too. You ask someone a simple question like, "How's it going?" and you get hit with a barrage of grievances. People love to complain. They love to broadcast how hard life is. Not everyone does, but a good chunk of them do.

So basically, every word I say carries weight, while anyone else can complain or insult people as much as they want. You don't do anything about personal attacks.

I'm not silencing you. 🤣
Unfortunately, you haven't quite grasped how the system works. I don't shut down anyone who stays polite and sticks to the topic. Like I told you before, you can report any posts you think need a look or some discipline. Reports go to all five moderators in the Department, the head super-moderator, and three administrators. That should give you an idea of how much weight a report actually carries. Most of us listed there will review reports and act accordingly.
If you get a warning telling you not to do something, and then you go ahead and do exactly that, getting the ban you were warned about isn't really a problem in my book.

A super-mod can tell me, "Henry Edwards33, stop calling user XY an idiot or you'll get a strike for harassment."
If I write a post where I call user XY an idiot, how could a strike for harassment possibly catch me by surprise? 🤷
I was clearly trying to say the situation was stupid, so if I end up with a strike for it, so be it. I weighed the pros and cons and decided to call out the stupidity. 😁

Can we move on from my moderation duties now, or do I need to keep explaining this?

I don't mind people talking about other software or pointing out the flaws in any particular program, provided they do it respectfully and follow the rules. Try using that approach for a while, and we'll see how it goes. 😉

You’re being incredibly clever by trying to dilute my point. My people aren't complaining about vague things; they're dealing with very specific issues regarding Synesis.

You clearly missed the point. I’m not silencing anyone who actually stays on topic and acts like a decent human being.

You’re undermining your own interests. For example, you moved a few posts over to the chat that don't belong here at all, simply because they offered solid pros and cons regarding book programs. Meanwhile, you leave in random nonsense about onions and peppers that has absolutely nothing to do with this thread. That isn't moderation; it's just playing favorites.

Besides, you’re being incredibly vindictive. Just because I called you out, now you're banning me over every little thing while letting everyone else slide. Look at the sheer amount of insults—both direct and passive-aggressive—on this thread right now.

Like I already told you, you can report any posts you think need a look or some actual consequences.

That’s how you play games with little kids. If you actually moderated properly, there wouldn't be any need for complaining.

I was clearly trying to say it’s a total load of crap, and honestly, I don't care if I get banned for it. I weighed the pros and cons, and then I just called out the stupidity for what it is. 😁

I’ve never called anyone an idiot, nor do I feel the need to vent my frustrations on internet forums.

I don't care if you talk about other programs or point out their flaws, as long as you keep it civil and follow the rules. Try playing it that way for a while and we'll see how things go. 😉

I’m out here putting in the work the whole time, but apparently, that’s an issue for you and Pupil’s little clique. That's when the personal attacks start—the constant insults and the total fabrications about garages and whatnot.

stormybadger8 said:What arguments exactly???

Seriously, there are tons of them...
Look, I've been using this software for what, 15 or 20 years? (I can't remember exactly, but I've been at it since the DOS days). And honestly, something about your "arguments" just doesn't sit right with me...

As far as I'm concerned, the program has never been slow. Not once. Maybe for some massive accounting firm drowning in data, sure, but for me? Never.
Unstable? I have no clue what you mean by that. It hasn't crashed on me once. Using it for 15 years is probably proof enough that it isn't unstable.🤷
Complicated? I might give you that—they definitely over-engineered it. But once you set things up, it's dead simple, even for someone who isn't an accountant.

Besides, if it is complicated, it's mostly because of how often our tax laws and regulations change constantly... more than the software itself.
Really hoping we stop getting hit with these stupid law changes before they're even published or explained properly.

And as for arguments for Techno, I've never heard anything besides people claiming it's perfect and the absolute best, supposedly because it has some "superior SQL database."
To be honest, as a regular user, I don't care if it uses SQL, Access, or whatever. For me, DOS was the easiest thing to type in. 😁
So, what other arguments do you actually have? 🤷

So, do you actually have an argument here or not? Look back at the whole thread, not just the last post. If everyone put as much effort into their points as I do (and if apis would actually try sometimes), this debate would be a hell of a lot more productive.
As far as I'm concerned, the program was never slow. I personally never experienced that... sure, maybe for some accounting firm buried under mountains of paperwork it was, but for me, just handling my own stuff, it wasn't.

That’s exactly my point. It might run fine on a single PC with minimal data for a simple business. Anything beyond that, and you're asking for trouble. It’s the same story with Clipper. But with Clipper (meaning DBF), nobody cared because it was the only—or at least the most popular—alternative to the expensive solutions back then.

And I've never read any actual arguments for Techno... just that it's perfect and the best ever, and supposedly has some superior SQL database...

Clearly, you didn't bother looking (I've cited them, and so have others—and I'm not just talking about praise, but flaws too).

And when you can't even get the name right, it's obvious you didn't even want to try.

We are talking about Techno software, just so you know for next time.

Henry Edwards33 Asks:
That's a weak argument. You're claiming Synapse is garbage, yet you admit you haven't used it in ages. How exactly is that supposed to be a valid take? 🤷
That isn't an actual argument.

You aren't even reading my arguments, which is a shame because they’re airtight. Just because I haven't used the software lately doesn't mean I'm out of the loop. I talk to plenty of people on a daily or weekly basis—mostly accountants and service technicians—and I'm constantly hearing their complaints.
Who exactly is trying to shut you up? 🙂

So, what you're saying is that every single word I say carries weight, yet anyone else can complain about me or insult me whenever they feel like it? You just sit there and don't sanction the personal attacks.

Honestly, you’re so boring that even someone like me, who sticks to bell peppers😂 (just for myself), and doesn't find them cheap or perfect either, has an actual physical aversion to that famous onion🤣
that I’ve somehow never even tried—and thanks to you, probably never will...
In case you're wondering who this is or why I'm here... I rarely post on this topic, but I read it constantly...

And yeah, you're definitely overdoing it with the pepper-shaming and the onion-worship. It's getting ridiculous.

Why would anyone be surprised? Everyone is entitled to an opinion. You, me, whoever. If some people try to shut me up—using every dirty trick in the book just because I won't fall in line—that’s their issue. Fine, you think I'm boring. So what?
This forum shouldn't be about me or anyone else personally. It should be about whether my arguments hold water. We should be discussing whether Techno or Synapse is better, where their strengths lie, or where they fall short.
I provided well-reasoned critiques, and in return, I get hit with personal attacks and smears against the company.
Attack my logic. Leave me alone. Just ignore me, like Jessica Grant56 says. 😍

Richard Howard55 said:Terry Johnson3, don't flatter yourself and stop exaggerating. You aren't "calm." You can't even watch the communication between Synapse users without jumping in. That doesn't make you calm.
Have I ever interrupted your chats when you were talking to your own software users? No. That means I'm not triggered by other people's presence. But what do you do in these situations? You throw stones at other people's programs, even though I know enough to be sure you have no clue what you're attacking or how it actually functions. You don't know Synapse, and I'll leave it at that—I see zero reason to waste my breath explaining it to you. Your anger is irrational from any objective or logical standpoint... so there's no way to change that state, no matter what I say. You're just Terry Johnson3—a little hothead... there's no helping you, and nothing ever has 🙂.

As for your description of the office space and those other "observations"... that's just not on my level. You exaggerated everything, so I won't even bother commenting on that part or giving it any weight. Just know that you ended up describing yourself more than the office. 😁

Fine, I'm not "calm" then. Have it your way. It clearly matters a lot to you that you always get the last word.
Have I ever interrupted your conversations when you were talking to your software users? No, I haven't!

Nobody is stopping you from speaking up if you actually have a smart, logical point to make. In fact, go ahead...

Synapse is a garbage program—slow, unstable, and overcomplicated. I've laid out plenty of arguments for that. And compared to Techno software, it has one massive flaw: you can't trial it. That’s why you guys are working so hard to hype it up through those passive-aggressive questions and direct pitches; you think people will fall for your sales pitch. With Techno, you can test everything first. If it sucks, you don't buy it. It costs you nothing.

Richard Howard55 said:Look, Terry Johnson3, just calm down!

First you go on a rant 🙂, then maybe you'll stay quiet for a few pages before starting up again. I truly hope you manage to land some actual clients for your site so you'll be too busy working to bother us here.
As long as the moderators let you run free ads, whatever. But let's be real: you aren't following the thread; you're just jumping in to derail everything.

Being honest doesn't mean trashing an entire software package. I've told you before—Synesis is excellent software. It’s not just my opinion; plenty of other users have said the same. If I point out something that could be improved, my goal isn't to bash my own tools or anyone else's, but to actually fix the issue at hand.

But you wouldn't get that. Even Ribba pointed out that you've got it all wrong and that you're basically just running anti-propaganda against the very program you're supposed to be promoting. If I were the owner of the software you're peddling, my blood pressure would spike every time you showed up here to drop your little "gems." 😁

I am calm. You're the ones getting worked up because someone dared to offer a reasoned critique of your flawless software. You immediately resort to personal attacks and insults. That's just gutter behavior. The whole "garage" thing? You heard that from someone here looking for revenge against the owner by claiming the office is in a basement. Feel free to visit and see for yourselves—it’s definitely not a basement, and it looks a hell of a lot better than the local Starbucks. It was a garage once. I was there a few years ago, so maybe it's improved since then, but back then it was a disaster. It felt like walking into a stable full of wild animals. Instead of a greeting, I had to listen to a support lady screaming at some poor client. I won't even repeat the profanity used after she hung up. A total zoo.

As long as the moderators let you advertise for free

I didn't even mention Best Buy, so calling it advertising is a stretch. Great job! I guess I should have praised Apple instead.😂 That would have triggered a wave of sarcastic laughter...

wrote that Sisyphus is an excellent program

"Excellent" is a stretch, but it gets the job done. If it were truly terrible, nobody would buy it. My point is that it works for small-scale needs, provided you don't mind dealing with thousands of settings, endless parameters, constant crashes, and data loss.
It's true that those old legacy programs worked (and some still do, financially speaking, though tax regulations wiped out the warehouse side), but they suffered from the same issues because they relied on bad databases. Back then, cheap alternatives didn't exist. Now, they are everywhere, so I don't understand why anyone would insist on using something this bad. And then there's the guy bragging about "tinkering" with the database himself just to make it work properly. Honestly, the developers would be horrified, and they could probably sue him for that. Given that kind of "intervention," I'm not surprised their support team isn't being helpful.

Ribba said:I’m not attacking you personally, but constantly calling a piece of software garbage is just plain ugly.

Since when is telling the truth "ugly"? Just look at this thread; users are complaining constantly. I recently pulled a few recurring themes from the discussions. It all boils down to slowness, complexity, and instability. Oh, and I forgot to mention the terrible documentation and pathetic customer support. I haven't had much direct contact with the software myself (thankfully), but everyone around me uses it, and I hear the criticism nonstop.

but they're clearly just sheep following the herd, given how many of them there are (according to you).

That was your claim, not mine. Plenty of people wear cheap knockoff sandals—not because they're mindless sheep, but because they can't afford anything else, and they get the job done.
Then you have the ones blinded by slick marketing and low price points, ignoring the long-term damage they do to themselves, their productivity, and everyone around them...

If it serves its purpose for the money (which I think is way too cheap), then it's a good program.

We agree on that, but only in the sense that it serves a function and drives down hourly developer rates, not that it's actually "good." Users don't need to understand database architecture to feel the consequences of constant crashes, data loss, endless compaction cycles, and overly convoluted parameters...

You're really doing an anti-ad for Tech, I have to say.

Where did Tech come from? I didn't even mention them.

Just to clarify, I have zero connection to either program.
😉

Let's just say I believe you.😉

How is it that on Reddit, where everyone is posting thirst traps, people talk about fucking, yet you’re bringing that language into a thread about software?

What's Reddit?
This isn't that kind of fucking. This is getting screwed over in the head. 😲
And this isn't even a software topic—it's about a polite moderator and some curvy assistant... this assistant 😉
silverbison293 said:If you're actually trying to represent something, try doing it with some dignity. Be calm, be logical, and stay flexible. Potential users see you as a slightly neurotic spokesperson, and they’re going to associate that exact vibe with the software itself.

A little bit of wisdom never hurt anyone.🙂
Who wants some neurotic, insecure software that needs a hard reset every five minutes?

I only recommend this stuff because nobody ever tries to screw me over after buying from my leads; that's why I switched to it in the first place. I don't have any skin in the game here, but you probably won't believe that anyway.
The big plus with Techno programs is that you can actually test them out first—that’s my main selling point whenever I give a recommendation.
As for the unfair moderation, honestly, I think it works in my favor. People see that I don't take any crap, so they figure if I'm recommending a product, they won't get screwed over either. :P
silverbison293 said:Terry, you're a provocateur. A quiet one, sure, but a provocateur nonetheless. 😉

is, especially when I'm being baited by a mob, I know how to strike back.
In my book, those obvious agitators aren't the real issue. You can spot them from a mile away. The real problem is the snakes who wrap everything in fancy packaging and act like they're perfectly polite.
They remind me of our polished, high-society politicians.
I don't know what you're getting at with that. Be specific or don't bother. kaže:
I've tried explaining this more than once: we are just users of the program. These constant insinuations are getting old. They’re insulting to the people posting here who are genuinely trying to help others, not looking to turn a profit. 😉

Lili, those people posting about Techno are actual users, not some collection of clones or bots. Your logic is fundamentally unfair. You act like Microsoft users deserve your protection—which is fine—but you treat Techno fans like they’re fair game to be labeled resellers or mocked. This isn't a one-time thing; it happens constantly, yet you rarely step in. Even now, the post sat there looking ridiculous until I finally filed a formal complaint. It seems Eric Chase12 is so well-protected that it takes a full disciplinary procedure just to rein him in after he's been repeatedly insulting. How many times would I have to make a similar comment before you actually banned me?

Same old insinuations. Whether that’s actually useful to anyone or not isn't really our business to judge.

Sure, there might be some value in a small part of this, but most people have pointed out how useless it actually is. Either the questions go unanswered, or the responses come in too late or are just plain inaccurate. Plus, the title of the thread is a mess.

That’s a total lie. I can find plenty of other posts where I specifically asked for someone with experience using different software to weigh in. Unfortunately, nobody ever steps up.

I know that, but the real issue is how they’re handled. Once they see what Techno users are actually going through compared to that Microsoft crowd, maybe they'll finally realize they don't need any of this in their lives.

The Associated Press really is quite a class act.

I don't know her personally, but I’m certain about this. One of my favorite people to debate here—even if he’s got a sharp tongue and lets his biases get the better of him sometimes, though nothing out of line—is someone I respect. So, I have no idea where you got the impression I was trying to insult her, or that she took offense. It was just a general statement. Nothing personal.
Typical drama from the Microsoft horde. They always have to act like they're being attacked or insulted just to make themselves look like victims.

Thanks to everyone for the support. It really means a lot to read things like this.

Being extra always pays off. 🙂
Michelle Gonzalez50 said:If you aren't a user and you aren't up to date on the facts... what exactly are you even talking about?

Honestly, I wonder how anyone manages to write anything here without it turning into a total hype session for Synapse.

Techtronic only seems to pop up in 99% of threads because you're the one bringing them up. Otherwise, they wouldn't be mentioned at all.

Exactly. Everyone posting about Techtronic is just a clone :P By that logic, I guess everyone on the other side is just a Michelle Gonzalez50 clone too?

The forum is a place to find solutions for our needs, especially if we can't solve things ourselves or aren't sure about the fix.

Who's stopping you?

Look, if everyone wants to use the Automotive section to complain about fixing a junker Ford, fine. I've dealt with much worse.😉
Michelle Gonzalez50 said:I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve had to point this out in the accounting software threads: some people here aren't actually participating in the discussion—they're just working a job for someone else. It’s pretty obvious to me that certain users jump into these threads with one goal: to aggressively push Techtronic software. They wait for anyone to mention Synapse, then swoop in under the guise of a conversation just to drop their plug. It’s a calculated, free way to run an ad campaign, and it’s blatant.

You could say the exact same thing about anyone out there shilling for Synapse. They just manufacture these fake questions just to get the brand mentioned. Most of the time, those questions don't even make sense, nobody gives a coherent answer, and honestly, it’s useless to everyone involved.

No matter how much they claim to know Synapse, they’ve been caught being completely clueless more than a few times. To me, most of what they write feels like a total fabrication. It’s clearly just a tactic to stay visible on this thread, hoping some random person looking for software advice will stumble upon Techtronic.

I never claimed to be a current user, which means I’m not up to speed on the latest updates, but I have plenty of experience with it from before. Everything you're saying applies to your side too. Just like some people get annoyed when someone is constantly obsessed with Synapse, you guys get worked up whenever Techtronic or something similar happens to pop up.

I’m highlighting my previous thread for one simple reason: it was useful, based on the points I already laid out. But let’s be real—that whole exchange turned into a total wash. It ended up just suffocating the group. That’s a clear sign that we don't need to waste time comparing programs. Instead, we should just "clear the floor" so people can actually ask what they want to know or solve their own problems... and nothing else.

You really hit the nail on the head regarding the core issue here. So, when someone actually brings facts to the table and starts comparing programs, it’s suddenly "too much" for people? If that's the case, then this group has clearly lost the plot. We should just start a new thread: Synapse User Support.
I hope things keep moving in that direction regarding accounting software.

I'm hoping that doesn't happen—mostly because it has nothing to do with the topic at hand anyway. But if it does? I definitely won't be interested in getting involved.

And finally, I want to give my full support to Sarah Morales90. She’s an incredible moderator—someone who manages to be both strictly professional and genuinely human at the same time.

We can go at each other's throats until the day after tomorrow, but that doesn’t change the core issue here. Lilly—who I don't actually have a personal problem with, since I get she’s doing this for free, and hey, it’s cool that people are engaging—is doing an excellent job moderating a thread that was posted in the wrong section. So, look, maybe the problem isn't Lilly.
I'm hoping I can be more blunt here.
Eric Chase12 said:"The guy in question"... if it were just me, maybe the admins would buy it, but there are enough people on this thread who you've treated like subordinates that they should speak up.

Look, just because a few of you are getting paid by the big corporations to praise this garbage program on forums doesn't make you right. As the saying goes, when everyone thinks exactly the same way, nobody is actually thinking.

As far as I'm concerned, I'm not all over the web, just here—and aside from dealing with you, I rarely get heat elsewhere.

This isn't about you (though it clearly would suit your ego), it's about how this PDF forum is moderated. And don't lie about not being active elsewhere; it’s easy to check your ban history. You're just a massive egoist with zero respect for anyone else.

The younger crowd doesn't realize you've always been like this. They don't know that seeing anything related to Synesis makes your blood boil and your blood pressure spike to 190.

My blood pressure is fine; the issue is the entire forum. You aren't allowed to mention anything except Synesis. People have already asked to split the forum off (since there are so many of you, anyway). It's not an issue if a comment leads back to Synesis—what's the harm?—the problem is whenever someone mentions anything else, they're immediately labeled a copycat. You're famous for that provocation. Anyone who isn't a fan of Synesis is just a "copycat." You insult people constantly.
You even provoked Michelle Gonzalez50 during that rare, high-quality debate comparing Tech-Synesis.

It makes no sense to end up in Brooklyn over Synesis. But if you keep comparing your little Fićek to a Mercedes... who knows? Don't play games.

Glad to see you've confirmed your habit of belittling others here too. Just look at what everyone else is saying and you'll see which software is the reliable Merđo and which one is just a broken-down junker.

Bottom line: I want a level playing field on this PDF forum, or let the obsessed Synesis users go start their own space. All this passive-aggressive questioning and blatant advertising for problematic software is driving people crazy.
rustydrifter10 said:This post is total cardboard.

ok

It looks like you think you got a warning just because you complained—you didn't. You got a warning because you broke the rules. Other users got hit with them too, including the person you were complaining about.

That’s not exactly how it went down, but let's not get bogged down arguing about last year's snow.

That’s not going to happen. I check this thread from time to time, and while I know people get into heated arguments that cross the line, I don't think the moderation is generally bad. You tend to overstep, though. For example, when a thread is specifically for people discussing a certain software, you swoop in just to call the users masochists. One post like that might slide, but if you keep using that kind of language, it's not allowed. It’s disrespectful and insults the other participants.

I agree, but the real issue is that this entire forum is biased toward one specific software. Anyone who dares to mention an alternative gets shut down or bullied. I’ll forward you examples of this whenever it happens so you can see how slow the response is—it usually just escalates into a massive flame war because management fails to put out the fire immediately.
Check out this solid debate between Michelle Gonzalez50 and me regarding what these two programs can actually do. Even then, people tried to twist my words and nitpick everything just to back Michelle Gonzalez50—mostly because they can't stop obsessing over that rival software.
I want to file a formal complaint against this moderator because her bias has been blatant for a long time now. She turns a blind eye to insults from Eric Chase12 (who’s already banned across all our forums), and his latest comment is a perfect example:
"It’s not about using the 'ignore' tool right now; this harasser and hater promised to keep bothering me about Synesis unless I threatened him with a ban. So, I’m asking the admins to note that he’s back to singing the same old songs and pushing the same pathetic arguments. In medicine, sometimes you solve problems by cutting them out, and this guy is a borderline case. He’s just exhausting."

He wants to "cut people out," calling on the admins to ban someone just for leaving a normal comment.
After I sent Lilla a private message about it, she basically told me she doesn't see an issue and that I should take my complaints to the admins instead.
When I tried doing things by the book before, I was the one who ended up getting banned. Apparently, I don't have the right to complain.
Or if I react directly to a post with a comeback—because the moderator takes days to respond—I’m the one who gets banned. Sure, I should have held back, but he gets off scot-free even though he started the whole thing.

I suggest that someone as biased as Lilla be stripped of her moderator privileges for the Accounting Software thread.

And since there's nothing spinning inside, you don't have to worry about moving parts at all.

Typically, these machines aren't exactly high-performance powerhouses, but if you're just running basic control systems, even an ancient relic would probably get the job done! That said, their durability is honestly incredible—I personally have some units that have been humming along for over 15 years without a single hiccup.

A little tip: while they aren't exactly budget-friendly, they are absolutely perfect for accounting work (though you'll want something a step up from the absolute bottom-of-the-line models...). You really don't have to stress about data loss—these things are practically indestructible, unless you're planning on getting struck by lightning!

That isn't an HDD, and thinking it's "safe" is just plain stupid. Lightning can strike anything, fires happen, and stuff gets stolen regardless. It’s actually safer and cheaper to just use a Celeron and run regular backups to an external USB drive you take home, or maybe upload it to a backup host in the States.
