Are video games destroying spirituality? in Spirituality ·
So, here's the deal. I love gaming on my PC, and honestly, sometimes I get sucked in for way too long... I don't know where I'd end up if my parents weren't keeping me in check sometimes....
I've also been diving deep into conspiracy theories, reading a ton of spiritual stuff, trying to meditate (well, at least attempting to), and just working on my inner growth.
Does all this computer gaming mess with my spiritual path? Should I quit? Because man, that would be really hard to actually do.

Based on what you're telling me, I'd say no, but looking at a lot of other people out there, it’s definitely possible for it to become an issue. But since you're even asking the question and looking into this, it's pretty clear you aren't one of those kids who just sits in front of a screen all day with zero clue about what's happening in the world or what they should be striving for.... so just keep playing. It'll probably be fine, unless you maybe just try to balance things out a bit and spend some time on other stuff besides games, rather than cutting them out entirely🙂.

Hey, could you maybe just snap a quick photo if you have something handy? It’d help a ton if we could actually see what we're dealing with... otherwise, we're basically just shooting in the dark here.

So, I’ve been hitting the gym for about 6 months now. Started out at around 156 lbs, and I've managed to pack on about 22 lbs so far... honestly, I'm pretty stoked. I still look pretty lean, but since I'm a total hardgainer with a metabolism that basically runs at warp speed, and I'm not even touching any supplements—plus, I just turned 18—I feel like I'm heading in the right direction.

My goal was to hit 180 lbs by Boise, which I’ll definitely smash, so 👍... maybe even aim for 187 🙂... things would go way faster if summer hadn't totally wiped me out. That heat really killed my progress for a good two or three months.

The photo quality isn't great, but you can see enough, and I'll probably post some more progress shots in a month or so 🙂....

Only bummer is I don't have any photos from before I started lifting. I love those "before and after" transformations, but I didn't really take any pictures back then because, well, I didn't want to scare myself...🤷

haha, I’ve been in that exact same spot... then my grandma just grabbed a lamb shank and started gnawing on it like it was her last meal on earth...🤣....

It’s really not worth digging through someone's profile just for something that stupid 😁
Sometimes I just slip up and let one fly... and honestly, it’s not even a big deal
lol... anyway, I try really hard not to use religious stuff or swear by God or any higher powers when I'm venting, which makes sense since faith isn't really my thing—I'm more on the agnostic side of things. Plus, in my circle of friends, we don't really go after the heavy stuff either, just standard vulgarities and that kind of thing 🙂. I don't think it's such a huge issue if you just snap and say something in the heat of the moment, but it starts getting annoying when people start using profanity just because they lack the actual vocabulary to express themselves... that's what really bugs me.

Look, what I’m saying comes from my own experience... I was just trying to be helpful, honestly, but I ended up making a massive mess of things. Half my class was basically threatening me with death or a beatdown and all that... xD. But then, after maybe three periods of school, nobody even remembered it happened, let alone a week or a month later...

And regarding that guy you mentioned—since you didn't go into detail, I'm not entirely sure—but I don't think being a straight-A student is actually why people "don't like" you before they start despising you. It sounds like typical high school jealousy. They're just waiting for any little excuse to turn on you... but still, I say just wait until school starts again. If you really see that things aren't improving at all by then, then maybe reach out...

Honestly, the first thing that pops into my head—and I’m not just trying to give you those generic, sugary sweet words of comfort that everyone else is probably going to bark at you with—is that people just don't think about you as much as you imagine they do... they'll likely forget all of this by the time summer rolls around, and even by fall... and you'll find your way back to a more normal middle ground before you know it.

Personally, this one is my absolute favorite... it might not be the "best" ever made, but man, it hits hard. It’s just so incredibly heavy on the emotions, you know? It feels so close to home, hitting on all those vital things I deal with every single day—stuff I usually try to avoid even thinking about, let alone talking about... 👍👍👍

So, getting back to what we were talking about earlier... it just crossed my mind... there’s this one book, *Mein Kampf*, where this guy lays out all these intense wishes and beliefs, and then, man, it actually happened... it's wild to think about, like, what if everything he said was actually true?
Not that I'm defending him or anything, obviously, but the guy worked himself to death, or well, through those horrific gas chambers, just to make sure his vision became reality... it's heavy stuff...

I mean, if you really think about it... all that stuff like hexes, curses, or even voodoo vibes... it’s all basically just tied back to the power of willpower and what people actually believe in. So, yeah... I still don't buy into any of it personally. I'm not exactly the superstitious type...

I feel like that whole "every single day, in every possible way, I'm just getting better and better" line fits much better... you know, because we all remember that classic movie *Dolly Bell*, right? 😛

I mean, sure, anything can happen, right? But Alanis already laid it all out there, and honestly, I don't see much point in overthinking it or going down a rabbit hole... I once tried to move soap bubbles around just by staring at them really hard, thinking sheer willpower would do the trick, and let me tell you... yeah, that didn't exactly work out for me. Total fail... so, yeah, that kind of stuff is just nonsense, or more likely, just pure coincidence.
