So we're just stuck here waiting for the Pet Shop Boys at Madison Square Garden.
Steven Hernandez9 said:Arthur Anderson75, you little smartass, how did you suddenly decide I watched every single performer from start to finish? Most of the time I was just there to give moral support to the guys actually working, or hanging out and grabbing drinks with the ones who weren't... honestly, I had a blast, even if I only liked three and a half bands over the whole two days...

I'll never get pathetic types like you who suddenly catch a case of "righteous indignation" just because someone dares to say something controversial—like how every art brut song sounds exactly the same, or how Tricky is just hilarious in his stoned-out way, or how Karen is as ugly as sin...

That whole "5% talent" argument automatically kills any discussion on internet forums everywhere. Is that clear enough for you, or is that adolescent sense of justice still burning too bright in your chest?

I wasn't accusing you of heresy; I just think your intellectual and spiritual channels are totally blocked, much like most of those "urban cool guys" who'll still be acting like that at 35.

Over & out
Steven Hernandez9 said:haha I have seriously never experienced listening to this much music that I just don't care about in my entire life...

Anthrax are a joke. It’s cool that their guitarist held a workshop for young metalheads in Nashville the day before though. Respect...

Those Editors guys could probably hold a workshop at a local barbershop. I’ve never heard or seen a worse band in my life...

And I don't get why every Black artist has to act like a walking stereotype... those nerd kids from the indie scene constantly pushing this rivalry against the metal stage which had maybe 30 people on it at the time... but none of that compares to the moment when that guy from the indie crowd turned from a total clown at the end of the set into a freaking Martin Luther King Jr. figure for the poor, helping us all find the strength to pursue our own talents... you get some stupid arena cash and a spiritual awakening like you're at a Billy Graham revival, all in one package🙏

I really can't wrap my head around Moby. That's just empty music for cocaine-fueled yuppies... I didn't even get close to that soundtrack used for corporate meetings at AT&T...

Tricky was honestly adorable in his absolute filthiness... like, the band plays Ace of Spades, he does nothing, just waves his hands and mumbles, and then as a reward for the crowd during the encore, the band plays Ace of Spades AGAIN, and he just mumbles and wanders around again... hahaha classic!

Art Brut were alright, best thing alongside Anthrax... but they don't really have songs... although it's funny how the singer hinted twenty times that he doesn't give a damn. That always cracks me up...

You must have been one of those people throwing fluorescent crap at the stage

I mean, despite your trash attitude, it's obvious you watched every single performer until the end, because if you were that bored, you clearly had the time.

Once you actually have a band and enough inspiration to play or write even 5% of what you've been trashing, then you can talk.

Lollapalooza watching Placebo?
urbanhawk14 said:Franz Ferdinand: plus they're relevant right now, they have a new album.
minus because the album sucks.

Kraftwerk: meh.

let's find something better.....

Franz Ferdinand actually dropped the most mature album of their career.

But apparently, if you actually have to use your brain to listen to an album, it's "garbage" to most people.

Basically, "garbage" is just what people say "as soon as they land in America," right?!

Honestly, just go organize your own festival and skip this one.

Richard Patel90 said:Well, then just head over to Munich. 👍

Obviously I’m not trekking all the way to Munich. I don't follow her that closely, even if she has some solid hits.

Besides, Tina Turner already played Washington, D.C. twice—the first time with Ike Turner, and then again as a solo act in Denver. That was the real deal, and anyone lucky enough to be there back then knows it.

Richard Patel90 said:Why even bother going to Munich when you've got Miami right there. 🙂

It’s a quick trip to Miami for me, 435 miles, but I could make that drive to Munich twice over in the same amount of time.
If you skip this show, you’re basically telling everyone you're soft.

Real men go to see Manowar.
The promoter is Twilight, and yeah, the show is 100% confirmed.
04/09/2009. Cradle of Filth, Moonspell, Gorgoroth-Tvornica
Terry Rodriguez41 said:you're trying too hard to act high-class, but it's just not working :S
Taylor Swift pulls massive crowds, so who actually gives a damn? I have every right to call Souldrek what they are without you lecturing me with those tired, repetitive clichés... so, from now on, stick to your usual routine—keep your opinions to yourself!...

Anyway, is that confirmed yet? ☕

OT: I don't even know what you mean by me "trying to be high-class." Or whatever...

This thread is about upcoming metal shows, not about how many people some pop stars draw at their concerts. I couldn't care less about that mainstream nonsense. It doesn't interest me.

Soulfly should be confirmed soon.
The lineup just shifted. Napalm Death and Metallica are playing separate shows now, which means Metallica is headlining their own gig at the Boogaloo on February 19th.

Expect an announcement on Soulfly dates soon.
Terry Rodriguez41 said:Souldrek...

What, not underground enough for you?

To me, that stuff is 99% metal, so I don't even bother voicing an opinion. I just keep it to myself. Honestly, I don't even listen to bands like that.

Whether it's Soulfly or your precious Souldrek, they're both gonna pull a massive crowd just like back in '03 and '06.
shadowdriver11 said:heavy metal.. 🤣 look, I gotta say something. I’m probably not the first one to notice this isn't actually heavy metal, but whatever.. 😛
anyway, I don't listen to most of these guys, but it's cool that bands like this are touring the US. I'm sure plenty of people will be stoked about it. 👍

I figured someone would call out the title..

Nowadays, when people say "heavy," they're thinking of bands like W.A.S.P., Saxon, Poison, Mötley Crüe, and all that..

But basically, this is just a catch-all for any "heavy metal" shows. That's why I titled it this way—because at the end of the day, every "metal" band is a "heavy metal" band.
I can't believe this.

It's just pathetic.
Seriously, what are we even doing? image
Absolute joke.
Don't even get me started. image
Total garbage.
I'm done with this nonsense. image
Ridiculous.
Just unbelievable.
Unbelievable.
There you have it!!

🙂but honestly, half the people on this forum would lose their minds if they knew.

My money is on The Killers. At least, I hope so...
Maybe there's still a glimmer of hope for the VIP section, considering it looks like they're bringing in the Editors.
Jose White23 said:I don't know what you guys are tripping on. Most of the lineup was pretty much set by this time last year, if I recall correctly.

Regarding Jazz at Lincoln Center, I saw them at an aquarium venue years ago. Live, they’re incredibly boring (their albums back then were decent, though). And what's up with that radio station where nobody plays music except Ed Sheeran? If they aren't going to play anything else, he should at least be the face of the thing and bring out Kruder and Dorfmeister.

Obviously, for electronic music, you need Lollapalooza.

Honestly, there isn't much left to "find out" about this festival. Looking at Washington, D.C., the posters are already all over the City billboards and it's clearly a done deal. But if the festival runs for two days, the real question is who's headlining night one versus night two.

The organizer messed up the scheduling, but that VIP company—basically just some wannabe "yuppies" or whatever those quasi-cool modern managers call themselves—went all in on The Cave and spent way more than it's even worth just to land them.

But seriously, a lineup this bad is going to bite them in the ass. If this is the final version, I don't expect more than 3,000 or 4,000 people to show up.
