What's the deal with the new update? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
I’m seriously over this guy—whenever anyone drops actual facts on the legal subforum, instead of actually debating the point, he just nukes the post and calls it "trolling" or "baiting." It’s pretty obvious it's just because the facts hit too close to home regarding his own field... clearly a massive ego issue. ☕
Why doesn't God share His knowledge? in Religion ·
Susan Green15 said:What could possibly be the noble reasoning behind an omniscient God choosing not to share the kind of knowledge that could save millions of lives or simply make our existence less of a struggle?
During the Middle Ages, countless millions perished from the plague and various other ailments, not to mention the periods of famine caused by things like potato blight wiping out crops.
Why didn't God explain the mechanics of the plague or how to treat it, instead just watching silently as millions died, leaving us to stumble upon the cures entirely on our own?

Why do people continue to praise Jesus for miraculous healings rather than criticizing him for using his knowledge and abilities for his own promotion and glory, instead of teaching humanity medicine so we could actually heal ourselves—both in greater numbers and long after his passing?

Because God is just an imaginary friend for adults... ☕
Would you be an organ donor? in Miscellaneous ·
Blood donation? Sure, I'm down. But organ donation? No way in hell. ☕
Gun permit info? in Miscellaneous ·
Minors in sports clubs can actually use firearms—though they aren't allowed to own them!—specifically for things like target practice at the range. As for joining a hunting club, if I remember correctly, any adult citizen in the USA can join... provided they pass the exam, obviously.

Join a hunting club, finish the training, and pass the exam. You aren't doing anything without that. ☕

For example, when I was taking my driver's test about six or seven years ago—and I passed, paid for everything, and even bought my own car without any help—it was such a shock to him, like, how is it even possible that I have something he doesn't, or that I could actually succeed on my own? It just didn't seem normal to him...

Welcome to the club!
I'm not sure how old you are, but I'm guessing you're still pretty young, so maybe try to stay positive, because I suppose an opportunity for freedom will come along sooner or later.

My situation was the exact opposite... Every single time I tried to do something solo, my parents would just jump in and do it all for me because "you don't know how" or "that's too dangerous"... Then came the whole "son has to go to college" thing. Switched majors three times at different state universities and didn't finish a single one...

Thanks.. 🙄

Not exactly that young. I'm 31. 🤦
Aaron Smith6 said:So, what we're talking about here is essentially tossing a parent who has given you everything in life straight into the trash?

Parents are a necessity until you hit 18—after that, they’re just an obstacle. ☕

It's funny how every parent treats their kid like some kind of prodigy the second they learn to walk or figure out how to crawl into a crib—but as soon as they grow up, suddenly the kid is incompetent and needs constant supervision for every little thing. ☕

I’m dealing with the exact same mess as the OP—this hyper-possessive mother who tries to micromanage every single corner of my life. She has to control everything, she has to know everything... she acts like I'm a total moron while she's the absolute genius who knows everything there is to know. She nitpicks just for the sake of it, giving me instructions on stuff like how to open a window—as if I've never seen a window before—and when I finally snap and tell her to back off with all the nonsense, she throws a massive tantrum and somehow makes *me* look like the one with mental issues...

The kicker? I don't have a job or any income right now, so moving out isn't even an option.

What's the logic here—how is this even off-topic or spam?

Most people can't even tell the difference between a paparazzi and a real photojournalist... ☕

bluecobra27 said:Liberalism has been hijacked. It's a joke. Nowadays, the people calling themselves "liberals" have more in common with the communists and fascists from the early 1900s than they do with the actual liberals those very ideologies were fighting against.

Back in the early 20th century, being "progressive" meant you were a communist or a fascist. Today? Being progressive just means you're a liberal who believes in censorship disguised as "political correctness," advocates for equality—except it’s always a slightly higher level of equality for certain victim groups—and craves an all-powerful government that sticks its nose into every single aspect of human life.

Exactly. That’s what I’m getting at—it's all a joke. They hide behind this fake "liberalism" and "democracy" nonsense just to roll out bans on whatever they want—all to cater to some "vulnerable" minority that basically gets treated like a protected species. Isn't that just how it works now?
Liberalism is actually the most repressive political ideology out there ☕
