Cutting Through Canada's Razor Wire Fence: Breaking Borders (Dispatch 6)

Disclaimer: I don't take sides. I'll call out anyone, no matter what.

Man, holy crap... did you see that guy holding onto it? His skin was practically peeling right off the bone.🤦🤦🤦
Alexander Ortiz3 said:Check out what manufacturers show on their websites regarding razor-wire fencing. They take a roll of it, set up a wooden dummy in front of it, and then use a remote to slice through the wire. Just look at what’s left of that dummy once the razor blades have shredded it during the cutting and unwinding process. It's absolute carnage. No one is going to attempt to cross that, no matter how desperate they might be.
Are you all honestly picturing some old-school, basic barbed wire used by the military back in the day?

Some folks act like they're staring down a swarm of spiders just because they're looking at roof rack mounts. It doesn't mean they're actually dangerous if you actually know what you're doing. Sure, something is bound to snap under tension, and when you combine speed with that kind of sharpness, things can get messy fast. But—thankfully—if you approach it with a bit of an engineering mindset, you can totally master the wire and turn the whole thing into a joke. I can even watch videos of it on my phone. If I end up buying some wire, maybe I'll film my own little tutorial.

The only reason to fire is self-defense when there’s absolutely no other option.

Just a simple question for you. Would you rather protect an American citizen or a refugee? If you had to pick.
What matters more to you? Being humane toward strangers or protecting the American people?

Honestly? I’d defend an American over a refugee if they posed the exact same threat. And I'd definitely defend a child over an adult, or a woman over a man.
But—and this is a big "but"—I wouldn't go out of my way to defend an American against their own paranoia about refugees attacking them. In that case, I’d probably just donate some wire cutters to the refugees and give them a quick lesson on how to cut through a fence safely.
Alexander Ortiz3 said:Have you ever seen what happens when you try to cut through razor wire?
It’s designed to unravel right onto whoever tries to tear it. Every single meter is covered in dozens of razor-sharp blades, sharpened on all four sides. It slices through anything in its path. This type of fencing is built specifically for maximum security prisons here in the States. Nowadays, they're installing it along borders in multiple layers, one right above the other. You can't move it without an excavator without getting noticed, and once you're spotted, you've got armored vehicles on one side and tear gas and pepper spray on the other... so if anyone's feeling particularly brave, feel free to try racing through that wire.

It’s designed for 🤦 It's just a coil of wire. You install it using heavy-duty PVC gloves and specialized tools from a hardware store. If you really need to clear a section, you just set up two posts, tie off the segments, and cut out the middle bit. For heaven's sake, stop watching too many action movies.
Alexander Ortiz3 said:Go ahead, Google "razor wire," look up the manufacturers, and see what kind of damage it actually does. It is a world away from the basic barbed wire you're talking about. It's used in high-security prisons for a reason—it keeps hardened criminals locked in and ready for anything.

Look, nobody is talking about basic barbed wire here; we are talking about razor wire. For crying out loud! A prison perimeter is usually miles long.
electricorca112 said:Look, it’s actually pretty straightforward. Before the Canadian fence went up, migrants were moving through Canada. Now that it's finished, they aren't.

But you'd rather just philosophize, twist words, struggle, and throw insults. It's clearly the only thing you know how to do. 👍

In that little fantasy world you've built for yourself, you're ignoring the fact that there's an entirely different route running right underneath Canada. Down here in the States, nobody's getting through. That fence simply isn't working.
Kenneth Palmer7 said:A border wall will eventually have to go up—Germany isn't going to keep accepting migrants indefinitely.

Look at how walls work in Israel, Bulgaria, Canada, or even at Calais....

Maybe about 10% will manage to scramble over, but that 90%? They’ll give up. After a while, the surge just loses momentum—and those who did make it through can be deported back home.

Handing out sandwiches and providing bus or train rides only fuels the fire—it creates a visual incentive for people in Iraq, Iran, Pakistan, or Afghanistan who are already packing their bags.

The wall is coming; let's not be naive about it.

Even the top officials in Washington know this is inevitable.

There's talk about a barrier, but the actual construction won't happen until Germany shifts its stance. 👍

The President even reached out to Sweden and Germany to ask: "Should we start putting up the wire?"

Their answer was basically: "Not just yet."

If they finally pull the trigger on that, they have to go all the way—I mean fencing off the entire eastern border of the country. I just can't imagine where they'll find enough personnel to man it; maybe Angela can send some help over. 🙂 For us, the real nightmare isn't what's happening right now, but rather the risk of migrants crossing through Canada to reach our coast.
Gary Perez7 said:People who actually believe that massive nations can't effectively stop thousands of desperate individuals from crossing their borders unchecked are living in a complete fantasy land.

The reality is they aren't stopping them because they've been ordered not to—orders coming straight out of Germany.
Meanwhile, the media keeps pushing this narrative about thousands of Supermen who can just swim across fifty meters of a swollen river and hop over any fence in massive numbers.

If they used even moderate force—without using gunpowder—nobody would make it through. But the directive is to be "humanitarian" and just let everyone pass.
Yet, here you are, still believing in these thousands of Supermen walking right in.

Oh, absolutely, you can certainly beat them back—some will give up, since the most peaceful ones usually do. The aggressive ones? They'll just push right through. Yay, what a victory for us.

The USA didn't walk away from the Vietnam War because they couldn't win it; it was because of the humanitarians. Same thing with Afghanistan. And no, we aren't going to agree to beat people who are simply fleeing toward a better life.

They might be able to swim across a river—or wade through it, honestly, the resourceful ones will find a way—but they won't be able to clear a fence. They might try to overcome it, but they won't clear it.
Sophia Ramos5 said:I'm with you. Sitting here at my computer, I can already find three ways to get past the Canadian braid. If people who made it from Afghanistan can't do it—well, maybe they could, but there aren't garden tools there, just rocks and desert... but people survive and adapt. Don't forget, Afghanistan is the kind of place that breaks empires.

Genghis Khan could not hold onto Afghanistan. Neither will The United States

Man, you're dealing with a crowd that's clearly obsessed with movies—just look at the stylistic flourishes they use, stripping everything down to the bare bones. They're acting like children. Mentally, at least. For God's sake, they've never even seen a coil of wire. People are getting stretched out by damn work gloves! You could toss two guys over that little scrap of metal and walk right over it naked. Thank God the old man is around; we shared some with him.
Brenda Taylor13 said:Man, you are talking absolute, straight-up, TOTAL nonsense. After they put that fence up at the Canadian border, 22 immigrants crossed it illegally. Twenty-two!

So, newsflash: the fence WORKS.

No, let’s be real here—the fence does not work. What actually "works" is the route through the States. That's why nobody is heading toward the US anymore. Having a fence on the way into the US just adds a minor inconvenience, making it much easier to just come through the States instead. Even if we had our own barrier, people would still bust right through it—no problem at all. Maybe they'd try it at the southern border, maybe somewhere else, but it wouldn't stop them.
Brenda Taylor13 said:🤦

The guy above me made a pretty good point—for the most part, the border with Canada is totally impassable. Do you honestly think migrants are going to climb 6,000 feet up the rugged terrain of the Appalachians in the wind and snow? Or are they going to swim across the Mississippi or the Una when half of them can barely stay afloat?
If you think this is some kind of piece of cake, go ahead and ask our soldiers how they fared trekking through the mountains during the winter of '94 during Operation Storm.

Bottom line: the border with Canada is a much smaller issue than everyone here is making it out to be. It seems like the easiest excuse for why we can't just put up a fence is "oh, but they'll just come through Canada." Well, newsflash: let's build the damn fence first, then we can figure out if they try to cross through the mountains and rivers in Canada or not.

Have you ever even set foot in the Rockies? Do you have any idea how high the highest peak actually is? And do you realize a mountain isn't just a single summit? Honestly, I've seen tourists wandering through the Rocky Mountains in flip-flops!

They don't even need to know how to swim; someone will just ferry them across.

gentlemoose57 As I have previously observed:

If they find themselves with nowhere left to stand on this soil, they will simply forge ahead. They will trample over every obstacle, swim across the Mississippi, cross the Danube, trek through the heart of the Appalachians, and conquer both the Rockies and the highest peaks in between. Is there truly any boundary that can hold them back?

This situation demands a much more vigorous and comprehensive denial than what we have seen thus far. Is it not enough to simply ignore such baseless assertions? One would think that a formal, decisive rebuttal would be the only logical course of action to prevent further misinformation from taking root.
The rugged peaks of the Appalachian Mountains will be of little consequence to them if they intend to proceed in such a manner. They lack the constitution for mountain trekking, and they certainly possess no skill for swimming. How can one expect to hold back a force that lacks even the most basic survival instincts?
Should they fail to secure transportation through one of the various states they transit—assuming, of course, that no such jurisdiction has already seen fit to provide it—they simply rent a vehicle and proceed directly to the border. Is it not a remarkably straightforward, if somewhat wearying, solution to their predicament?

That’s exactly why I said they’ll cross it. If they can't find a way over, they’ll just swim those damn 50 meters of river if they have to.
Alexander Ortiz3 said:But if we actually have an opening, things are going to escalate in Mexico, because they won't be able to touch us.
It’s much easier to rob a shop in Mexico while you're already there, rather than trying to pull a razor wire stunt, deal with the police right behind it, and then somehow make it over to some shop in America to rob.
If you really think taking on a SWAT team is that easy, just give it a shot.😁

Look, you clearly don't grasp what a single mile actually feels like out in the wild. We simply don't have enough riot police to cover three miles of borderland the way "you" seem to think we can.
Alexander Ortiz3 said:How does the police force handle and settle a crowd of 10,000 fans? Do they just start shooting them? 🤦
You set up razor wire that slices through skin to the bone, put water cannons, tear gas, and rubber bullets behind it, and have police in armored vehicles with batons ready. Let whoever wants to charge try it, and we'll see how that goes. 😁
I suspect they’ll conclude that things weren't actually that bad back in Turkey. 😉

And then what—you plan on doing all that at the 932 miles border? Just how many water cannons would you need if each one only reaches a few dozen yards?

Razor wire doesn't actually cut anything; it’s surprisingly easy to overcome.
Alexander Ortiz3 said:Most of the US-Mexico border is already impassable. Try trekking through the Rockies or the Sierra Nevadas and let me know how it goes (if you even make it). Or try crossing via the Mississippi or the Missouri. Don't forget that the US Army barely managed to push through the river valleys back in '95, and even then, it was a failed military operation because those rivers were such massive obstacles. And now you think a crowd of immigrants in sneakers can just stroll across Canada into the States, much like they move across the flat plains from Mexico into the US? 🤣

If you put up fencing at the easier access points along the border with Canada, that still only covers a small fraction of the perimeter. Even if they make it to a place like New Orleans, where do they go from there? They’d still have to navigate multiple state lines and cross through places like Mobile.

Oh, please! Go ahead and try explaining to the Italians or the Greeks that fifty yards of sweet water is "impassable"—maybe then they’ll stop trying to manage things over in Lampedusa and Lesvos. 🤦

Look, if they don't have any land routes left, they'll find a way. They'll trudge, they'll swim, they'll swim across the Mississippi and the Una and even the Danube; they'll climb right over the Appalachian Mountains and the Sierra Nevada if they have to.

The fence in Canada only works because we haven't built one yet. A little wire mesh and two rows of barbed wire is absolutely nothing—it's child's play. It's something they can easily bypass right now by coming through the American side. That's why they aren't bothering with it.
Alexander Ortiz3 said:It was the exact same thing when the authorities dealt with the situation at the US-Mexico border. There was some minor unrest, a bit of tear gas used, and by the next day, everything had settled down. These aren't superheroes; once they realize their tactics aren't working, they back off. They didn't come here to fight a war in America; they just want to live a comfortable life.
You can't just jump over a fence when it's reinforced with multiple layers of razor wire designed to tear through skin. At the border crossings, you've got specialized tactical units, water cannons, tear gas, rubber bullets, and armored vehicles. There simply isn't an opening there.

You’ve clearly been watching too many action movies:

You can overcome razor wire with one thick blanket.
Brenda Taylor13 said:People need to shove this in the face of every single "know-it-all" who asks, "Well, how would a wall actually help us?" It helps exactly the same way it helped Canada! Unlike America, where thousands of immigrants are still finding ways to sneak in through illegal routes every single day, Canada saw their numbers drop to just 22 after they put up the fence. Twenty-two! Can you believe that?

Yeah, right—as if America doesn't have its own unique situation compared to Canada. Our neighbor to the southwest isn't some other sovereign nation we can just funnel people through; it’s the open Atlantic! Any comparison to Canada and their wall is just a clear sign that someone fundamentally fails to grasp both the reality of the situation and the actual geography involved. Of course, it’s hard not to get swept up in the political mudslinging regarding what is, frankly, a fairly manageable refugee situation here in the States.

The only thing we'll achieve by building a wall on the southern border is encouraging people to bypass it by trekking through Mexico into parts of the country that are even harder to monitor—or, at the very least, areas we desperately need to keep stable during these migration waves.

If I tried setting fire to some trailer park, I'd be looking at ten years in federal prison for arson before anyone even mentioned "restraint."

The fact that you and our government can't find an answer isn't proof that there isn't one—it's just a reflection of how incompetent you both are at handling this crisis.

Actually, solutions exist, and they are being implemented—so what "crisis" are we even talking about here?

There is no magic fix to simply stop them from arriving, plain and simple.

Now that the Russians have actually stepped up and done more in a few dozen days than the Western allies managed to do in years, suddenly 35,000 people is a crisis? What happened to the millions before that...??

Let's not even get into the messy details regarding all that support and the supply chains being handed over to those primitives and butchers... including our own weapons and ammo. It’s all just one big, half-baked, failed attempt to crush a geopolitically vital sovereign nation and its legitimately elected president, Assad...

I suppose when Ali Assad's forces are the ones dropping bombs, shelling, and using artillery, people just don't bother running.
