cosmiccrane15, tell me about it. I’ve been stuck on bed rest for months now, and honestly, it’s driving me insane. My husband thinks cleaning the bathroom once a week and running the vacuum through the house is enough... But then I feel bad because he’s handling everything solo, so I just shut up and ignore the dust.
But you hit the nail on the head. I’m almost at the end of my bed rest too (35 weeks), and I feel like I’ve spent half my life Googling things. If it makes it any better, I’ll be able to scrub this entire house from top to bottom by myself in about two weeks. 😍
Other than that, this pregnancy hasn't really pushed my buttons much since I'm basically cooped up at home seeing next to nobody... 😉
Yesterday my mom’s grandma called me out of the blue just to ask if my baby had come back to life... 🤦
I was like, "He's been alive since day one, otherwise I wouldn't have even gotten pregnant," but she just looked completely lost. She kept repeating, "No, you know what I mean, is he ALIVE?!" and I just kept giving her the same answer over and over...
For a second there, I honestly thought she believed babies could actually die and then just spontaneously respawn halfway through a pregnancy.

But I just can't see myself pushing my baby around in something that starts squeaking and falling apart after only three months of use...

And let's be real, our stroller is definitely going to be seeing a lot of miles on those neighborhood sidewalks...

Well, you should've told them there are great ones for $2667 too... 😁
I mean, if you're paying cash for a stroller out of your own pocket, that's nobody's business but yours...
Honestly, people can be so unbelievable sometimes....

Noah King6 said:Hey there,

So, my mother-in-law really pushed my buttons today. She actually had the nerve to suggest that my constant nausea and vomiting might just be "all in my head"...
It honestly drove me crazy. Neither she nor her daughter have ever dealt with nausea or vomiting, so now I’m apparently the weirdo because I've been stuck throwing up non-stop for eight whole weeks. I think it bugs her that every single time she checks in on me, my answer is always the same—I'm still sick.

Anyway, that's what set me off today.

Ugh, I've heard that line more than once... 🙂
We were down at my husband's grandparents' place by the coast, and his grandma would ask me every morning how I was feeling. Every time I told her I felt terrible, she’d just wave me off like, "Oh, stop exaggerating."🙂

And my mother-in-law is getting on my nerves again, trying to micromanage our baby names. Whatever name my husband picks for a girl, she decides it's the ugliest name on the planet, so she's already started listing her own "better" suggestions.🤦

Plus, my father-in-law is driving me crazy too. He hasn't even asked how I am once in four months. He can barely even bring himself to say the word "pregnant" or acknowledge I'm actually having a baby; he just brushes it off like, "When this phase passes."

Honestly, half of my husband's family is just exhausting... 😁

Jack Garcia5 said:Hey, regarding that "You're fat" comment🙂

I'm 5'4" and I've gained about 22 pounds—but I'm also two months away from giving birth. So, if anyone's actually fat here, it's definitely you, not me, you absolute moron.😠

Next time someone acts like that, just tell them, "I'll be giving birth in two months and dropping the weight, while you'll still be stuck with the exact same problem"...

Honestly, my husband and I call each other fat all the time, but nobody's actually overweight—it’s just how we joke around. 😉

Fine, whatever. If it’s an 80-year-old grandmother, sure, I’d let it slide. But if some 40-year-old woman tries to lecture me, I’d snap back loud enough for everyone to hear: "Yeah, clearly standing here at eight months pregnant isn't hard for me, so don't you dare try to push me aside." Trust me, she'd be mortified and people would give her such a look! Go ahead, try it and see how much fun you have! 😉

The other day, I actually told this chronic smoker/drinker at the drugstore to stop blowing smoke in my face and give me some privacy while I was picking up my vaginal suppositories. And I said it LOUD. Everyone heard!
The Pharmacist didn't say a word, but she gave me this little smirk and a look of total approval. 🙂

No offense to the ladies here, but if you aren't going to stand up for yourselves, why on earth would you expect anyone else to do it for you?! 🤷

I honestly had no clue how much of a nightmare it is to stand there at the CVS counter while being 39 weeks pregnant until it actually happened to me. So no, I’m not expecting some kid to step up and move for me. The real issue is that people have zero manners and they couldn't care less about anyone but themselves!

Candida drives me absolutely insane too! It's so frustrating!

Don't bother waiting for anyone to step up, because nobody in this country shows any respect anymore—not to seniors, not to pregnant women, and definitely not to moms with little kids.

If you want to cut the line, just claim you're pregnant and can barely stand, blah blah blah... and make sure to say it loud enough so everyone else hears you! 😉

And just to stay on topic, it drives me crazy when people act like pregnancy nausea is some kind of myth. It’s real, it's brutal, and it's absolutely exhausting! 🙂
Why didn't you just say something to her face?
If someone acts like that, I’m being incredibly rude right back.
I’m still a little pregnant, so I don't expect everyone to be hyper-aware of my bump, but this one lady just shoved her way ahead of all us pregnant women waiting for delivery... just totally shameless about it. Ugh, I lost it...
The whole Target aisle heard me. Naturally, everyone else in line jumped in to back me up—pregnant women definitely get priority!
It used to drive me absolutely crazy when my grandma insisted I shave my head short before my first baby arrived (and maybe get a perm 😁) just because she claimed I wouldn’t have any time to fix my hair once the kid was here.
But guess what? Right when I was in labor, my hair was longer than it had ever been—literally down to the middle of my back! 😂

hiddenmoose222 said:I can certainly empathize with husbands and fathers when they give me that blank, weary stare while I’m having a meltdown—especially since my own husband loves to tell me I’m being "impossible." But honestly, when my mother insists that mood swings and postpartum depression simply didn't exist back in her day, I genuinely start to worry that there might be something fundamentally wrong with her head. 🙄

That’s just nonsense. It happened back then too, they just didn't have a fancy medical label for it and nobody talked about it openly. There was no internet to give everyone instant answers like there is now.

My grandma used to tell me that when she was having kids, it was standard practice (at least in the Midwest) for someone to stay with the mother for the first month or so. That's basically the entire recovery period!😉

Mood swings during pregnancy and after giving birth are completely normal, and there is absolutely no reason to feel ashamed about it.

Honey, please just go back to the ER! Tell them everything about the bleeding—I’m really hoping it turns out to be nothing serious!
Good luck! 😉
Tyler Davis2 said:I was wondering how early a pregnancy test can actually turn positive—is there any way to know before my period is even due? For instance, my cycle is usually about 23 days, and I'm already on day 20. Is it too soon to see anything on a test? Honestly, I’m just so impatient because I really, really want to get pregnant right now!

Last time I was pregnant, I tried testing on day 18 of my cycle and it came back negative, then I waited until day 23 and finally saw a positive. I've been using an Intim Plus test, but does anyone have recommendations for another brand that's just as reliable?

You might see a plus sign 2-3 days before your period is actually due.
In my case, Clearblue showed a faint positive a few days early.
But look, if it shows a negative, don't panic—it doesn't mean anything for sure, it could just be a false negative.

Good luck!
William Carter6 said:What used to drive me crazy was all the comments from friends and family who know how much I’m hoping for a girl (though a boy would be amazing too) acting like they just *know* it's going to be a boy. Like, excuse me? How do you actually know? If anyone has a gut feeling here, it's me. That stuff really got to me during the phase where I was crying over every little thing like it was pouring rain outside. I finally realized people just have this weird instinct to wish for the opposite of what you want...
Now, my mother-in-law is getting on my nerves. She’s usually great, but lately she’s started meddling in things that have zero to do with her. She won't say anything to my face, either—she just pulls her son aside to whisper about why we aren't married yet or why we’re buying those black strollers... man, I'd love to just snap at her for being so indirect!
I also get annoyed at myself sometimes because I feel like some of my girlfriends are mad at me because I'm not my usual self. Sorry if I've been a bit much lately—pregnancy is tough to deal with!!!
The sleep situation is a nightmare. I mean, I technically sleep through the night, but I wake up in the morning feeling like I ran a marathon62 miles. And the hunger is constant. Fruit doesn't even touch it; I'll eat five apricots and then thirty minutes later I'm halfway through two chocolate croissants. Plus, the whole "can't take a bath" thing is annoying, and don't even get me started on shaving. I have to pull these ridiculous, painful poses just to reach my legs.
People don't exactly rush to let me go ahead of them in line at the grocery store, but honestly, I don't shop in person that much anyway, so it's fine. I can handle standing around for a bit.

On the bright side, my nails are looking amazing and strong, and my hair—which is usually pretty thin—is actually full of volume right now. I haven't even had many breakouts, maybe one or two here and there. It's also great that my feet haven't swollen up yet, which is wild since I'm 24 weeks along and I know some women are dealing with that already.
But honestly, the best part is just the sheer amount of love I feel for this baby. It's completely limitless... 🙂 just incredible
I love it when the baby kicks, especially seeing them flutter around in there. When I talk to them and they kick back... yeah, that makes everything else worth it.

Oh man, I remember this struggle... getting ready for a gynecologist appointment..
I could barely sit on the edge of the tub without losing my balance, and just as I finally get into the groove of shaving, I realize the mirror has fogged up so much I can't see a thing. So I'm just sitting there waiting for it to clear, only to realize my butt has gone completely numb and I can't even stay seated. By then, I've already rinsed off and stepped out of the tub, and honestly, I just don't have the energy to go back in... 😁

So, what did you end up wearing? Did it go okay? 😍

Seriously, those rude old geezers really need to 🙂

But honestly, it’s true. When I was pregnant, my belly was so huge everyone thought I was having twins—I definitely didn't go unnoticed. I hopped on the subway for just two stops, and I wasn't even planning on sitting down because getting up and down felt harder than just standing there for five minutes.
Suddenly, this young guy comes up to me and leads me by the hand to an empty seat, only for some obnoxious old man to cut right in front of my nose to grab it. Zero shame. 🙂

The kid ripped into him so hard I actually felt embarrassed for them. The rude old man just acted like he couldn't hear anything and stared out the window.
Brandon Brooks72 said:The whole "brought to life" thing doesn't bother me—I just see it as a way for people to ask if I can actually feel the baby yet. Everyone knows the heart starts beating way before that anyway..

Don't take it so personally. It’s like when someone asks if you slept like a log—you don't go thinking they’re actually implying you were murdered. 😁

Solid analogy. 😉

I'll try to keep that in mind once I actually hit that stage where they start grilling me about it.
It drove me absolutely nuts during my first pregnancy. It’s like talking to a brick wall—you explain to people that the baby is alive and kicking, and then they turn around and ask the exact same thing five minutes later. Total waste of breath. 😁

It probably comes down to how old you were when you actually got pregnant... 😉 When I was expecting my first kid, I was the only one in my circle who was pregnant, and man, I felt so out of sync with my friends during the pregnancy and right after giving birth. We just weren't on the same page because our priorities were totally different.
Fast forward four years, and now they’ve all had kids too, so they finally get where I'm coming from... 😉
frozenhound24 said:I could really use some perspective here. I’ve been married for four years now, and we haven't been using protection. My period is currently nine days late, which is starting to weigh on me. I finally bit the bullet and took a pregnancy test yesterday, but it came back negative... and now I'm just stuck in this limbo. I honestly don't know if I'm pregnant or what the actual odds are at this stage. If the test says negative, but I'm still feeling all these physical symptoms, what does that actually mean? Is it possible for the test to miss it?

What kind of symptoms are we talking about here?

It’s not clear if you’re actually trying to get pregnant or not, but if you've been unprotected, yeah, there's a chance.
Also, tests can give you a false negative sometimes. Either grab another one in a day or two, or just go get a blood test at the clinic. If everything still comes back negative after that, then you should probably go see an OB-GYN.

Good luck! 😉
Joseph Wells81 said:So, I was pretty out of line with my mother-in-law today. She had the nerve to ask if things had "come back to life" yet—whatever that's supposed to mean—and I just looked her dead in the eye and said, "No, it's dead." :/

Good grief, this drives me absolutely insane!!! I've heard that one so many times, but usually just from old ladies at church. 🙂
