"Oh my goodness, you've clearly lost your marbles..."

As if I didn't already know that without needing all your commentary... (not that anyone actually talked me into showing off my midriff, by the way)
I guess it all really boils down to whatever kind of cycles you're used to dealing with normally...
Joseph Hayes54 said:So, I mostly just had an ultrasound where nothing showed up, and now my OBGYN is sending me to the hospital because—shocker—he’s totally stumped. Honestly, I'm freaking out and can't decide if I should even go... I mean, what if I actually am pregnant? It would have been mid-August, so maybe it's still too early to see anything on the scan, even though my last period was late July and the pregnancy symptoms didn't really hit me until mid-August. I'm scared to go because I feel like if it were a miscarriage, my hCG levels would be dropping instead of rising... maybe I'll just hold out for another two weeks—I don't know, I'm not exactly a genius here.

I stumbled upon this post and I'm terrified the same thing is happening to me.

Because of some "weird" hCG spikes and a little spotting during my sixth week, they actually suspected an ectopic pregnancy and kept me in the hospital for a few days. They were going to discharge me (on my own request) because they said they'd probably have to do a D&C on Thursday. As soon as I got home, I rushed to call my doctor and begged for an appointment. It was Wednesday—a day I'll remember as long as I live. I walked into the office, explained everything, handed over my hospital records... he started the ultrasound. I was staring at him like a maniac, trying to read his facial expressions to see if everything was okay or if things were looking grim. He just smiled and said, "Well, look who's traveling!" And I was like 😲 :???: 🇳🇴 ..Then the volume went up and I heard it—the heartbeat...
Now you know why I won't forget that Wednesday.
The thing is, the ultrasound machine at one of the hospitals in Chicago just wasn't cutting it—it couldn't detect my Lucy. My takeaway isn't that the doctor was bad—he's great and I trust him—but the equipment just wasn't top-of-the-line.🙄
That's all from me.
Seriously, wishing you the absolute best... please keep me posted.
Try to find a specialist with a really good 3D or 4D ultrasound machine.

That isn't quite how it works, though, because for a pregnancy to actually show up on an ultrasound, your beta levels really need to be north of 1000.

Honey, they aren't going to perform a D&C if there's absolutely nothing inside the uterus...
and there’s even the possibility of irregular growth happening outside the womb too... who knows where things might go from here.....
What if there’s actually some kind of alien interference going on here?

Because, look, it’s just been way too many days since we last checked... from Thursday until today, you really should be seeing somewhere around 700 to 800 by now, so it definitely doesn't seem like your numbers have climbed the way they were supposed to...
Brandon James said:It’s such a whirlwind of emotions. When I went through a chemical pregnancy myself, I was getting blood drawn every couple of days, and those levels just kept dropping until they hit zero. That's why I'm a little confused by what you're experiencing right now.
I'm really hoping everything turns out okay for you.

That’s exactly how it went for me too... my first reading was at 63.6, but after I had a really heavy period, the second test came back at 12.1 and by the third one, it was down to 1.2
How many days had passed before you went in for your blood work?

If there’s only about a two-day gap between tests, then seeing that beta levels rise like that is actually a really wonderful sign that everything is progressing exactly as it should... but if it’s been longer than that, then something might be a little bit off, and you should definitely make sure to reach out to your OB-GYN right away just to be safe...
I was bleeding for nine, maybe even ten days straight...

Just going a little off-topic here, but honestly, she’s just 😍
Joseph Hayes54 said:Honestly, I really hope I am—I just want to have a baby in my arms again. I can't help but feel this wave of anxiety after everything that happened; I'm just so worried about the health of my future little one 😢((but we're definitely going to try again next month, assuming we can actually pull it off 😢

I totally understand why you're feeling scared, but biochemical pregnancies are actually safe for you...

I went through the same thing during my first month, and then I was pregnant again by the very next cycle...

Anyway, tomorrow I'll be turning 32 years old 😉
Joseph Hayes54, you likely experienced a biochemical pregnancy.

The good news is that there shouldn't be any lasting consequences, so you could potentially conceive again during your very next cycle and carry a baby all the way to term...
