Jonathan Wright4 said:I got totally blindsided today by this group of super young guys—probably construction workers grabbing a quick lunch break—over at 🙂 There were at least 15 of them ahead of me in line, and honestly, every single one of them had a cart packed to the brim, yet every last one of them stepped aside to let me go first 🙂 I’m not even joking, it actually moved me to tears; I was a hair away from a complete emotional breakdown right there in the aisle 😁 All I could manage to squeeze out was a breathless, "Oh my god, thank youuuuu!" 😁

I mean, I almost teared up too when this older lady at the VIP lounge let me cut ahead of her.

Me: Nooo, really, you don't have to. Seriously, it's fine.
Her: Don't even start. You go ahead of me. Just shut it. Did you hear me? I used to carry babies, too.
Me: Oh my goddddd. Okay, thank youuuu so much 😍 😍

I swear I almost melted right there on the floor 😍 from how sweet it was.
Samuel Ross60 said:As for me, I’m going to keep helping people when I can, because I refuse to let the sheer lack of basic decency in others turn me into just another self-absorbed idiot focused entirely on myself.

🙏

That's basically what I was getting at.

Whatever. Their problem, not mine. I'm not letting it get to me.
Laura Barnes42 said:That’s true, though people still ask me if my dad is happy with his girlfriend. He isn't. As soon as he heard she had moved away, he just handed over the divorce papers.🤣

🙄 🙄

what absolute lunatics.
Ugh, seriously? More questions about my due date. Like, give me a break! 😢

So, we were out in downtown Chicago last night, just grabbing drinks, and the hostesses at the pub where we were sitting were basically interrogating us. Every single one of them. They wanted to know everything—my actual delivery date, if it’s a boy or girl, if we’ve even finished setting up the nursery... 🤷
I mean, I get it, they were probably just trying to be friendly, but still!
People are starting to get all bent out of shape because I’m basically calling them out for stepping all over me now that he’s gotten big.
I mean, is it really too much to ask to have a say, or at least get asked before they just start messing with my bus??

I'm currently navigating my second pregnancy, so I really don't have the patience for baseless advice or myths. That said, my husband tends to make comments whenever I reach for certain foods; he’s still dwelling on the fact that I gained 21 pounds during my first pregnancy. It isn't that I actually *want* to see the scale climb that much again, but his constant nitpicking is getting old. Honestly, all he does is remind me of a situation I'd rather just move past.

This thing's bugging me too. Honestly, I've got no clue what I'd even say to him.
I mean, I know he’s thinking about me, the baby, our future, whatever... but still. 😢
Brian Williams4 said:It actually surprised me how easily people just let me cut in line at the register. Yesterday, I even had two young police officers 😁

wait, seriously??

man, i gotta hit up that Walmart 😬
urbantinker8 said:Well, I suppose it’s nice to know that at least some people are decent.

It happened again today.🙄
It just gets under my skin toward the end of the month, when I'm out running errands, heading to work, stopping by the Social Security office, and dropping off all those various checks.🙂
Once again, I spent hours just standing there on the transit. It almost makes me want to be completely rude and just snap at some random person to get up from their seat with a nasty comment.

And to make matters worse, I was lugging around a ton of grocery bags today too. 🙂

The cashier at BIP totally cut me in line ahead of some lady who had just arrived.

And honestly? Thank God for that. 😍

I thought I might actually pass out from the awkwardness... but whatever, I just stayed quiet. I guess I brought it on myself, right?
I'm just too socially awkward to ever speak up or ask for anything.
maybe for yelling and breathing? 😬
Constant pressure:

- Just have a drink! It’s fine! I drank during my pregnancy and look, my kid turned out perfectly fine!!

ughhh! 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

if I decide I’m not drinking, then I’m just not drinking. period.
and people say it a thousand times, at least once a week.
I just stick with basic monthly Bausch & Lomb contacts.

And honestly, they’re great—never had a single issue. I mean, I can't exactly pop them in blindly, though; I definitely need a mirror nearby.

But so far, I've never had one slip out or anything weird like that happen...
I don't know. Still on the fence about it, I guess. 🤷
And you could've just had them during labor, right?
wanderinghawk said:I wouldn't risk it. A lens could slip out of place, and you'll end up needing an eye doctor to fish it out because you won't be able to do it yourself...😉

People are still giving me grief about my dog (because dogs bite kids) and calling me selfish for working instead of resting, claiming my kid needs me to de-stress...🤷 🙄

wait, how would they even move? 😕

i mean, i actually want to see what's going on around me, not be stuck like some blind guy in a dark room trying to grab onto someone's sleeve or shoulder like: what's even happening right now?? what are those people down there doing??

i just want some visual control, i guess.

also, can you wear glasses with contacts? ☕
Peter Hall6 said:🤣 I still cannot 🤣 quite wrap my head around her saying "fur coat" instead of

chiara My boyfriend's mother just told me that boys are actually born earlier than girls. 😁

yeah, she's clueless 😁 girls are born first, obviously! 😁
Laura Barnes42 said:I honestly get hit with such a ridiculous barrage of silly questions lately, like people asking if I’m planning on having a royal baby just because I’m on a specific diet. It’s wild. I suppose I get it, though—people generally have no clue how to actually talk to a pregnant woman, so everything ends up being this overly anxious "how are you feeling?" check-in (and frankly, I'm still a little stunned by how much everyone seems to care about my physical state) or they start pointing at my stomach or asking invasive things like whether I drink or smoke. Personally, I might indulge a little here and there, but that's about it. What really gets under my skin, though, are those unsolicited pieces of "advice," like telling me I absolutely need to eat a mountain of bananas or that I must avoid certain foods at all costs. I’m talking about the kind of suggestions nobody even asked for, usually coming from women who have already had kids and suddenly act like they're medical experts. One lady even tried to tell me I needed to take extra Omega supplements just so the baby would be smarter. Seriously? Gaaaah.

Ugh, people asked me the exact same thing.

But I honestly had no clue what they were even talking about. Is it actually true that women go blind from straining during delivery?! (Assuming they already wear glasses, I guess)

There is just no way I'm buying that!

I wear soft contacts, so I’d probably just show up to the hospital with those. Does anyone know if that's actually okay? 😕
Chris Kim16 said:It’s just a vest—helps protect your kidneys and stuff. 😁 Honestly, even women who wouldn't be caught dead in one usually start wearing them once they're pregnant! I went through a bit of a rough patch myself, but I still haven't picked one up. 🙂

😂

Haven't heard anything about this one yet, I guess. 😁

I mean, I’m all for the vest, but maybe pregnant women should probably skip it. 😁)
What vest are we even talking about? 🙂
Dana Brown8 said:The other day at the grocery store, some woman asked if she could cut ahead of me. I only had bread and milk, and she was in the same boat. When she turned around and saw my stomach, she just blushed, looked down, and muttered, "Never mind." 😁
I used to be the type who couldn't say "no" to save my life. Now? I've learned how to put myself first. 😁

Guess I need to work on that too😢
wanderinghawk said:At work, I keep getting asked when I plan on retiring... people act like they’re shocked I’m not constantly worrying about potential complications. It’s ridiculous to think I’d stick around until the very end 🙂🙂

Honestly, I’m almost afraid to walk to the restroom just to avoid bumping into someone. I really don't have the energy for their mindless commentary 🙂🙂

I just don't get it.

If you actually need help with complications, people are like, "But whyyyyyy?? Why wouldn't you just push through until the end??" Like, total disbelief from everyone.

But if you don't need anything? "Wait, what?? You're crazy, why would you even try to work this long!"

It makes zero sense to me.
I really hope that when people eventually become pregnant or parents themselves, they learn to be a little less judgmental with their comments.

Oh, and something that totally threw me for a loop today:
"When are you going to post the news on Facebook?? Why are you being so secretive about your pregnancy?"

🙂 AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA 🙂
🙂 🙂 🙂

Good thing I didn't actually shoot anyone.
Jacob Phillips4 said:On topic: the complete lack of courtesy toward pregnant women. It seems nobody here bothers to offer up a seat, even when someone is sitting in a designated priority spot clearly marked for expectant mothers. Honestly, I find the elderly to be the most difficult demographic—you see them everywhere, especially when you’re stuck in a massive queue at a clinic during the winter flu season. I rarely dare to say anything to them, though if I did, I’d likely be torn to shreds regardless. Just the other day, I was losing my mind waiting at a small Verizon store to finish some business for my partner; if it hadn't been for him, I would have walked out. There were always about five people hovering there, and naturally, since filling out one standard service contract takes forty-five minutes, they managed to form a massive line. Of course, the entire shop only has one single chair. Everyone in that room took turns occupying that one seat, staring at me like I was some sort of alien specimen, yet not a single soul thought to offer it to me. One would think that before taking a seat themselves, they might glance around to see if anyone else in the room actually has priority. I felt physically ill from being in such a cramped space with so many people crowded in; I had to step outside for air several times just to cope. Eventually, I reached my breaking point when some girl in her early twenties wandered in, and I finally asked her if she could let me sit down. She stood up, thankfully. But it is undeniably worse here than even in New York City... there is absolutely no culture of yielding your seat to pregnant women.

I realize this is trivial and that this topic is a constant fixture on this board, but I simply had to vent...

Is this Vienna or what? 😁

At least based on how it sounds.
