Car loans in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
The only way they’d pull a fast one on you is if you were still stuck in some probationary period at work or something. But honestly, I doubt it—an auto loan isn't exactly the same beast as a mortgage.

George Barrett35 said:I’m going to pass on commenting that whole "look how well we handled this for you" bit, but if you're looking for someone to blame for this mess, it's definitely you. I mean, even a toddler understands that using your credit card online is entirely on your own head. This serves as a pretty solid wake-up call for anyone else out there thinking they can just gamble away their life savings online without a second thought about which card they're plugging into some sketchy site.

So, what's your take on this? Ran right into it while I was grabbing some Broadway tickets online earlier.

I’m pretty sure Wells Fargo tracks those installment purchases you make on a credit card too. Though, honestly, I have no clue how much weight that actually carries when it comes to those tiny, unplanned personal loans.

A TAN table?????????
Man, that’s just so old school. I honestly thought everyone had moved on to using at least some kind of tokenization by now.

Mark Sullivan62 said:By issuing a directive that demands access to your employment contract, they’re actually trampling over several different federal laws.

And here’s the kicker: if you actually hand it over for them to inspect, you’ve basically handed them a smoking gun regarding trade secrets.

And because of that, they could easily find a reason to fire you on the spot.

Look, the Bank isn't legally obligated to approve your overdraft just because you asked. 😁 And honestly, why are we even handing over our average salary when applying for a loan? In most companies, your pay is strictly confidential.
It’s kind of like how people hunt you down for your Social Security number—you either give it up or you don't get any service at all.

Anyway, back to the actual point of this thread: a buddy of mine got denied a loan (not from Bank of America or the Federal Reserve, by the way) simply because he was still in his probationary period at work.

From what I gather, you can't really use a standard debit card for online shopping since most people use credit cards for that instead. Debit cards are usually just for direct hits. So, if you made a trip down to Chase just to grab one of those, you probably could've skipped the hassle.

goldencyclist60 said:So, you're telling me the bank (let's say JPMorgan Chase, for example) is tied up with ConEd, AT&T, and all those other pieces of trash we're forced to pay 🙂?
Is it just Chase doing this, or are the other big banks in on it too?

Pretty much every bank does it. Those fees you usually get hit with when you mail in a check or a bill pay via paper $1.75 are way lower online—actually, for some stuff in New York City, there isn't even a fee because the bank isn't paying some teller to manually process your request. When you use online banking, you’re basically acting as your own teller, typing everything directly into the system. Plus, you can track every single transaction in real-time instead of waiting around for a monthly statement to show up.
Just make sure you triple-check the account number and routing info before hitting send, otherwise, your money might just vanish into thin air. 🙂
If you're a Chase customer and have more questions, just holler.

Anyone else got any ideas?

Look, I’m just looking for an actual doctor I can go see—not a bunch of conflicting advice that leaves me more confused than when I started. 🙂
Nah, I'm good, thanks for the offer.

Can anyone point me toward a solid private dermatologist? And I mean someone you’ve actually seen yourself—not just some "my cousin’s roommate went there" recommendation. Feel free to shoot me a DM if you prefer.

Up until now, I’ve been bouncing around different hospitals and clinics, but honestly, it’s been a total joke—just a bunch of clueless doctors who don't get it. I'm more than willing to pay whatever the premium rate is, as long as someone actually knows what they're doing and can help me out.

Thanks in advance.
