What are the bicycle taxes in Canada? in Cycling ·
Here is the breakdown of what I consider a total scam: when you generate an invoice, they just pull the exact amount you spent from your account, then snatch nearly 40% back in fees once you try to cash out.

Oh, please. I can already see his ego preparing to issue a frantic denial. When he starts making up his own version of reality, he gets this bizarre, ecstatic rush of pure euphoria that takes over his entire being...🤣

Or were you trying to call us impotent losers who just spend our time jerking off online, much like yourself?
How does that sound to you?
Do you even have a family?
Are you absolutely certain your kids aren't out there doing drugs (or being gay)?
Are you positive your wife isn't actually stuck in the kitchen, but is instead busy with the neighbor, making this whole rant a petty act of revenge against her and him?
Or are you still living in your parents' basement?
And why don't you take your little lectures over to some Mexican forum? They'd probably find your input much more relevant. We're done with you people.

The price tag is a bit higher, which isn't really the issue here. The real headache is that seam where the strip overlaps; it’s unavoidable, and because the tire is slightly thicker at that spot, you can feel a subtle vibration when riding on smooth pavement. But even that isn't the biggest dealbreaker. That overlapping section eventually causes issues, and after enough miles, the edge of the strip tends to puncture the tube because you can never get that seam perfectly aligned. When you get a flat, the puncture site looks exactly like someone took coarse sandpaper to it.
Whether you rotate the seam with the wheel or against it, it still catches.
My overall experience with this type of strip has been negative.
And if anyone wants to be pedantic about it, that strip increases the rotational weight of the bike, which is actually a significant factor.

The cost was $19. Sure, there is an overlap, but you don't feel a thing while riding since the tube conforms to the tire rather than the other way around. I'm perfectly fine losing 2-3% in speed if it means I don't end up with a flat tire out in the middle of nowhere. You might notice a bump on a cheap commuter bike with thin tires, but on a 2.2, it's unnoticeable.

Just pop some Kevlar strips between the tire and the tube, specifically around $20 for both tires. Then you're good to go...
