Blue Eyes said:Why do you give up your seat on a bus, a subway, or in a waiting room to elderly people or those with disabilities? Is it because:
...it's just how you were raised?
...you feel bad for them?
...you know you'll be older and less mobile one day, and you hope someone will do the same for you when that time comes?
...you want everyone around you to think you're a good and selfless person?
...you believe it is MORALLY right to respect seniors and people with disabilities?
Or...
I don't stand up for the elderly or disabled because I just don't care about others... they taught me I should respect them... but I don't see the logic since there is no such thing as MORALITY... it's an invented concept burdened with subjective rules and principles... my own subjective principle is that I have the same rights to a seat as anyone else—whether they're healthy, old, young, or sick...
If you could argue your point... why do you think your reasoning is correct?
None of the above, honestly—I'm just a decent human being.
I simply get up without making a whole production out of it.😉
Besides, we usually stand up for younger ladies too, without all the deep philosophy.😁
