By high school, the goal should be tackling the classics and truly significant works. Whether we personally enjoy them or not, you can't really argue a position on something you haven't actually read 😁 . Unfortunately, for most people, assigned school readings will likely be the only books they ever finish, especially if you don't count the stuff picked up at a drugstore or airport kiosk.
True, but you have to admit that part of the blame lies with the reading lists themselves 😁 .

I’d bet my life savings that my professor hadn't even cracked half the books she was lecturing about, especially when it came to the world classics. 😁

If they ever decide to overhaul the curriculum, they really ought to keep that one in the mix—or maybe swap it for Anna Karenina. I'm totally with the idea that the reading list needs an update, though.
So, what's the logic here? Just because someone likes a book, it means it deserves a permanent spot on the syllabus? 😁
I grew up as a total bookworm, devouring everything from the required reading lists to whatever I could get my hands on, at least until my workload at NYU completely crushed my soul 🙂. It honestly eats at me that back in school, nobody ever bothered to ask us what we were actually reading outside of the mandatory curriculum. If teachers had just sparked a single discussion or even kept a casual log of our personal interests, it might have changed things. I truly believe that engaging with students' actual interests would fuel that drive in young readers, and maybe even catch the attention of those who usually claim they hate books. 🙂
One more thing, since breakthrough bleeding could mean the pills aren't strong enough, does that mean the contraceptive effectiveness is also lower? Of course, provided you aren't skipping any doses.
I’m bumping this thread, hoping to hear some fresh perspectives. I'm going into my second month on Belarus, and lately, I've just been feeling irritable, depressed, and completely unmotivated. While there are definitely external factors at play here, I can't help but wonder if the pills are actually to blame. Is there any real chance this is just the adjustment period wearing off, or am I stuck with this?
Is there going to be any shift regarding the other doctors in primary care? Basically, can my gynecologist still write me prescriptions or lab referrals, or is that all going to have to go through the AMA now?
If I start taking my pills on a day of the cycle that isn't the first through the fifth, is there any actual risk, or am I just looking at losing my protection for the very first pill?🍿
If I have a referral from a gynecologist in Washington, D.C., can I take it to a lab in San Francisco or Seattle for tests—like STI screenings or thyroid hormone panels? The referral doesn't specify a particular facility.
Female, 19.5 years old, diagnosed with PCOS. These labs were taken before I started any birth control pills. I'm looking for some insight—are there any contraindications for starting oral contraceptives based on these results? Also, please give me your take on the overall findings; should I be worried about any of these lower values? Thanks in advance. 🙂
I already posted this over on the Women's health board, but I haven't heard a peep back. Maybe I'll have better luck here 🙂 So, how does the scheduling work for getting hormone levels checked? If I call on day one of my cycle but actually need the bloodwork done on day two or three, is that enough notice? And where can I even go for this—is it strictly limited to hospitals, or can I go somewhere else? 🙂
I picked up those forms from my OB-GYN today, and I need to drop them off at the office on Fifth Avenue tomorrow to get them signed. Does it have to be me showing up in person, or can someone else handle it for me?

I am somewhat unversed in the intricacies of banking matters, so I find myself wondering: does the process of opening a checking account vary significantly between institutions like Wells Fargo, Bank of America, Chase, or Citibank? Furthermore, what are the associated costs for opening an account, and are there recurring monthly fees to consider? Or is there perhaps a venue where one might find such services free of charge?
I noticed nobody jumped in here yet, and I'm stuck with the exact same question. 😁 Basically, do they charge you a monthly maintenance fee just for having a checking account open? Or does that kind of thing change depending on which bank you go with?
I'm not really sure where else to ask this, so I'll just drop it here: do they charge maintenance fees on a checking account the same way they do for current accounts?

We had all these discussions about where the lunch would be held, what everyone should wear, and so on. In front of everyone, I spoke up and said I wasn't a fan of the whole circus—the way godmothers go overboard with their outfits, parents with their crazy expectations, or even godparents taking out loans just to afford a gift. Plus, there's that weird tradition where the godparents end up footing the bill for the whole lunch. Go ahead, take a guess.😉 I didn't get picked.😁 It stung at the time, but I ended up buying her a gold ring as a memento of the day, showed up to the church and the lunch, and felt totally fine about it. To me, the best people are the ones who don't even bother showing up to the ceremony but still give the most generous gifts.
In my case, my goddaughter received an iPhone, which the godmother basically snagged during some discount sale—you know how it goes with those big corporate types who always have the latest tech. I was against that too, though I have to admit today that the thing is a total beast of a machine.🙂
God, what kind of nonsense was that? An audition to be a godmother? A "candidate on a list"? 😕 When I was getting baptized, I knew exactly who I wanted by my side for a million different reasons, and there wasn't anyone else in the world who could fill that role. At the end of the day, the gifts were the last thing on my mind.

Honestly, it’s like trying to organize a messy garage—you just need to decide where everything goes and then slot it in. If you want something quick and easy without a massive learning curve, I’d suggest using PhotoScape. It’s a solid little tool that lets you drag and drop your shots into a layout without making a huge production out of it. If you're looking for something more web-based so you don't have to download anything, just head over to Imgur; they have some basic ways to handle imagery, though they aren't specifically built for heavy-duty design. Basically, pick your photos, choose a grid that doesn't look like a total disaster, and adjust the borders until it actually looks like something a human would want to look at. Don't go overboard with the filters, either. Less is usually more.
Look, it’s pretty simple. If you want to take a bunch of separate images and bundle them into a single link that displays everything at once, there are a few ways to handle it. You could just toss them all into an Imgur album and share that one URL, which keeps things clean, or if you’re looking for something more specific, you can use tools like PhotoScape to stitch them together into one big collage before uploading. It really just comes down to whether you want a gallery view or one massive composite image..
It looks like this:
Can I pull this off using Imgur, or should I be looking at something else entirely?

People call them anti-stress balls, I guess. I checked at Turbo Limač, but they told me they’re out of stock. If anyone knows what the actual term is in English, let me know so I can just order some off eBay and be done with it.
