An Introduction to American Football
in Other Sports ·
I met this guy ages ago on an old internet forum, and he was actually just out here in the States on vacation with his girlfriend. He works for the New Orleans Saints, so he’s the one who really got me into the sport. It’s pretty cool.
From what I can gather, the Green Bay Packers are the absolute heavyweights right now—they’ve pulled off something like 52 wins in 55 games, which is just a ridiculous stat if you think about it. Even though this season the New Orleans Saints are sitting perfectly at 15 and 0, while the Packers have already dropped two.
Anyway, it's a fascinating game.

A complete and utter circus. We are being played like fools by people who wouldn't know real leadership if it hit them in the face. Everything they told us last week was a blatant lie. Pure fiction. They promised stability, they promised progress, and instead, we get this absolute dumpster fire of a policy. It’s insulting. It’s actually insulting to our intelligence. How much longer are we supposed to sit here and take this? We’re being pushed around while the elites laugh all the way to the bank. It’s pathetic. Truly. If you think for one second that this is going to work out, you’re delusional. It won't. It's a disaster waiting to happen, and frankly, it's already happening. Wake up! People need to stop nodding along to this nonsense and start demanding some actual accountability. I'm done playing nice. This is beyond ridiculous. kaže:
Are you kidding me right now? Seriously, what on earth do you find interesting about this?
😳 Total trash emoji.😁
Whether it’s funny or not, I’m just saying there’s a bunch of us absolute nutcases who have been glued to these forums since the day they were even invented. Most of those "old school" emojis were basically our first ever digital laughs, you know? It hits you hard—that pure, unadulterated nostalgia just kicks in out of nowhere.😁
And honestly, it cracks me up whenever someone drops that "what even is this?" line. Like, seriously? Give me a break.😳When you already know that guy is a total fraud...😳Man, this thing would’ve been running perfectly for years before they started pushing all this modern crap on us to "update" it. Total joke.😁
I’m sick of this modern smile nonsense. Seriously, I am so done with it. Everyone walking around with those blindingly white, perfectly straight veneers like they just stepped out of a Beverly Hills clinic. It looks fake. It looks plastic. It’s uncanny valley territory, and frankly, it’s exhausting to look at. Real people have teeth. Real people have character. You see these influencers and tech bros in San Francisco or NYC strutting around with smiles that look like they were 3D-printed in a lab, and it just screams insecurity. It’s all about that manufactured perfection, and it’s killing any sense of actual personality. Give me some grit. Give me something human. This obsession with looking like a CGI character is getting out of hand.🤣🤣

You seriously have to be a total moron to charge onto the field and DEMAND a jersey. I mean, come on. If you actually want one, just go ask a player like a normal human being after the game or head over to their house in Cleveland, for God's sake. Rushing the field to snatch jerseys? That’s just straight-up lowlife behavior. 🤮

Stumbled upon this by accident, and man, it really brought back some memories. Most of them are pretty ugly, honestly, but there was one bright spot: the navy. They were absolutely incredible during that game, no questions asked. 🙏

Yeah, I actually think that's the move: either we a) start running ads on the Forum or,
b) just launch a subscription model and kill the ads entirely.
I mean, how exactly do you think this site—or the staff—is supposed to stay afloat? You think they can run it on nothing but good vibes from the users? Donations? Paying for everything out of their own pockets?
🤣🤣🤣

Edward Hernandez332 said:Porcupine Tree is hands down my absolute favorite, though I have to admit, back when they first started out, they were leaning way more into that psychedelic vibe. So, let's talk about Dream Theater and their Train of Thought era. Honestly, looking back at that specific run, it’s such a beast. It’s one of those albums where they really decided to stop playing nice and just lean into the aggression. It feels much more suffocating and technical than what they were doing before, almost like they were trying to see how much weight the listener could actually carry before buckling under the sheer intensity of it all. It’s heavy, unapologetically so, and it definitely marked a shift in their DNA.Look, you’ve got Andromeda, Circus Maximus, Opeth—and honestly, it's about time we saw more heavy death metal in the mix too, though I know that's not for everyone. Then you have Pain of Salvation and Riverside...
If you ask me—and this is just my two cents—everything up until the 6DOIT album is absolute brilliance. Everything after that? Honestly, it just loses me. It’s become pretty uninteresting to my ears.

Back in 2008, during an interview with Kerrang! magazine, Paul Masvidal announced that they were actually folding two unreleased tracks—leftovers from when the band was grinding away on the album back in 1994—right into the final release.
By July 2008, Sputnikmusic revealed Masvidal Had this to say on The album : “ We've been on an amazing journey discovering this New Music and soon IT will be yours
“ We've been on an amazing journey discovering this New Music and soon IT will be yours. Expect the unexpected. The album is an intensely concentrated mosaic of internal and external energies, from the deepest peace to the purest aggression. There's an acquired taste that comes with a record of this density, but once your ears wrap themselves around the language at work, everything falls into place and suddenly you'll feel a sudden urge to sing, scream or maybe even cry. The album has a beginning, middle and end. The story will reveal itself after numerous listens and then you may not want to let go. Besides Reinert and i, Tymon brought som New Life Force and magic to The record with fierce growling and poetic guitar sensibilities. Malone also did a fin job with The Low end , grooving away with Reinert in a pocket Land fra Hell !
The more I listen to this, the better it gets. 🙏

Cynic - Traced in Air (new album)
I was originally going to hunt down an existing thread to drop this in, but honestly, I can't pin this stuff down to any single label. It’s not just metal, it’s not strictly prog, it’s not purely jazz fusion—it's its own thing. Since the band doesn't have their own dedicated topic here, I figured I'd just start one myself and put the new Traced in Air album front and center.
I'm not about to write a massive essay on the band's history; if you need the deep dive, just check Wikipedia.
Anyway, keeping it brief. This follows up their second album from the Focus days back in '93. Instead of getting bogged down in debates about what genre this fits into or what it does or doesn't sound like, let's just look at a little preview: Cynic - the space for this.
For me? Absolute perfection. I haven't stopped spinning it since yesterday.

Look, you keep saying online betting is supposedly banned, but then you see sites like DraftKings or BetMGM running specific promos for the US market, offering dedicated support in English, and everything else. It makes you wonder.
I seriously doubt the legal situation is ever fully settled.

Honestly, everyone I talk to, whether they're here in the States or living abroad, says they haven't run into a single issue. I've even seen people pull up amounts five times higher than mine without anyone batting an eye. By the way, are you absolutely certain online betting is actually prohibited?
What really trips me up is how the banks here just sit there and do nothing. It’s wild. If you look at places like Turkey or Israel, the situation is night and day—they actually step in, block the online sites, and banks flat-out refuse the transactions.
