Since the whole point of a permaban is acting like a drama queen and making a huge exit, here is the new two-step procedure:

1. Provide a detailed, logical explanation as to why you want a permaban that actually convinces the administration your reasons are valid.
2. The thread needs to hit at least 150 posts.

A simpler way is to wire $50 (plus sales tax) to the Reddit fund account. $50 This covers one ban and one unban. The cheaper option is $33 (plus sales tax), but that only gets you one ban and you won't get an unban later. Well, unless you pay another $33 (plus sales tax).

There it is. It works for you and anyone else interested in the future.

Cinderella is the sole moderator for the Eurovision Song Contest section; they built it from a simple thread and have done a stellar job managing it ever since. They have complete autonomy over how that subforum is run.

From what I know, there are legitimate reasons why that manchild doesn't have access to that specific area.

We aren't heartless. We believe in change and giving people second chances, so we're quick to accept a sincere plea. That happens. It isn't just a theory. If we realize we messed up, fine—we'll fix it.

You weren't warned because you clearly noticed several of your posts being deleted (since you commented on the deletions). Deleting content is a very clear signal that such material isn't allowed here. If a moderator has to keep deleting your stuff, they conclude there's no hope for that user.

Think of a deleted post as a yellow card—a warning without points for "unwanted content." The reasons vary widely, ranging from trivial or vague posts to simply repeating the same tired arguments over and over. It's bad content that disrupts the flow and makes reading difficult. Don't act surprised when things get deleted, and don't just repost what was taken down; try to reshape it into something useful instead. And never, ever try to belittle someone else in an argument.

The suspension period is indefinite. If a user wants back into the subforum, they have to convince us they understand where they went wrong and promise not to disrupt discussions anymore.

As a dev, I always had to build retroactive data deletion into my apps to decouple users from their activity. So, I'm invoking GDPR.

Besides, have some self-respect. If someone doesn't want to be part of the community or show up in your user stats, just delete them.

I'm not looking for an argument. I'll check the fine print with the FTC, but otherwise, whatever.

A Banhammer isn't deletion. If people don't want to participate, they simply stop participating.

What kind of censorship are you talking about? There’s no censorship on this Reddit, aside from what's strictly laid out in our rules.

We only issue a Banhammer at a user's request in extreme cases where there's a truly compelling reason. Otherwise, it's pointless—you just stop visiting the site. Honestly, it happens more than you'd think; someone says they need to focus on studying but can't quit the site... Then people start asking us if they're just being dramatic or why we're being so harsh.
