Bryan White61 said:I just installed UltraVNC Vieweri 1.0.8.0 on my PC. I'm trying to remote into another computer, but I'm totally lost on what the next step is. If anyone knows how to make this work, please help me out. Thanks in advance!
Look, you gotta have that same viewer installed on the other machine too. Then, check the system tray—you know, down by the clock? There should be an icon, maybe looks like a little blue eye or something. Just hover over it with your mouse and it'll show you the IP address. That's the magic number you need to type into the viewer on your own computer so you can actually connect to the other one. Pretty sure that's how it works... it's been a lifetime since I messed around with this stuff.

Susan Castillo74 said:Can someone please help me out??? I downloaded it from the web yesterday... burned it onto a DVD... and now it just won't boot. Like, at all. Why is this happening?😢
Maybe you didn't burn that disc right and now it’s just a glorified coaster, or—get this—you totally forgot to go into the BIOS and actually tell the damn thing to boot from the CD!

And that’s just the "lite" version—it barely even does anything useful... so I guess I'll have to go through the whole headache of downloading the full Nero suite just to actually get things done..

Is there any other software I can use to check my CD/DVD ROM's firmware version? Something like "Nero Info Tool"? I'm running Windows 7 on my laptop and I've got Nero 8 installed, but it doesn't have that specific info tool included. My drive is acting up, so I was thinking maybe I could try a firmware update to fix it?

Dude, didn't you get it? You don't even need to have an OS installed before this week!!!!

Taylor Campbell4 said:I basically just cleaned up this thread a bit, but can someone explain why some of my photos show up fine as thumbnails, while others just look blank? Like, the preview is totally missing for certain ones.
Just look at the image and you'll see what I mean...
Maybe try deleting that "screen resolution" part from the info...

Dude, stop spreading misinformation.
Like, 1GB is just the absolute bare minimum for both scenarios, but honestly, once you hit 1.5 to 2GB, you're more than fine for Windows 7.
So you're telling me that isn't enough!!!?

Paul Morgan74 said:Can I actually run Windows 7 on just 1 GB of RAM? I'm currently rocking Windows Vista on 1 GB and it's holding up okay—CPU temps are running a bit hot, but hey, it gets the job done. Will Windows 7 eat up more memory or less? Just so you know, I'm on Vista Ultimate SP2.
Look, man, you basically asked this exact same thing a minute ago and the guys already gave you an answer...☕>

Seriously, just take that link down before you end up getting banned from here!!!

I don't even know where to start with this guy. Honestly, just thinking about him makes my blood boil. It’s like trying to explain common sense to a brick wall, only the wall is somehow more reasonable. He’s just... he's something else, man. Absolute nonsense. kaže:
What’s the IP address for Windows 7? I’m running on Xfinity broadband but the internet just won't load. Everything works perfectly fine on my old XP machine using automatic IP settings... so how do I actually set this up? Help?😕
What kind of IP address are you talking about for Windows 7? Give me a break, man. You’re probably looking at your router's IP—it’s likely something like 192.168.1.1—and that’s what you need to be using if you want this thing to actually work. If you haven't hooked everything up right, nothing is going to happen. Seriously, go check your Windows firewall first; it’s probably just sitting there blocking everything like a brick wall.

Taylor Campbell4 said:Does anyone have a decent direct download link for RC7100 x86? I'm trying to avoid torrents if possible, unless the seeders are actually moving fast for once.
I've been digging through RapidShare, but it's a total mess—files keep disappearing. Part 01 is there, but part 02 is gone, and it's just one headache after another...
Oh, wait, I see it now. You can actually grab it right from the Microsoft pages here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win.../download.aspx

Christian Collins73 said:Look, there isn't some massive error or anything, everything is running just fine.
But then you get that fancy little wallpaper they put in there—you know, the one meant to give your eyes a break while the OS installs—and it just sits there staring at you doing absolutely nothing.
I honestly think it's actually installing, man. Just look at the bottom. There’s that little progress bar slowly crawling along. That's what happens on my machine too; it looks like nothing is happening, but that line is moving bit by bit. It stays like that for maybe 10 minutes, maybe even longer, while the installation is grinding away in the background....

Grace Morris6 said:Guys, I need help, for the love of God. Like I said yesterday, I’m still totally new to all this tech stuff. So, I finally got my high-speed internet hooked up yesterday and had Windows 7 Ultimate installed on my machine. Before this, my computer was flying—it was lightning fast, everything was great—but now? Now it takes an absolute eternity just to open a single window. A friend of mine told me that because my motherboard is running an Intel 3.5, 2.2GHz processor, it's just too weak and the broadband modem is basically choking the life out of it. Is that actually true? Or am I just losing my mind here?😕
Tell your buddy he should save that nonsense for the joke section of a tabloid! Seriously. First off, that’s not a motherboard, it’s the processor. Get it right. And how much RAM are we even talking about here? I need context! When you say everything is "slow," are you whining because your internet connection is garbage or is the whole damn computer crawling like a snail? Give me some specifics!

So, about that key I got with Windows 7—how long does it actually stay valid before the final version drops, or how does that even work? And can I actually go ahead and run my Windows updates normally with it right now?

Man, what's the rush? It’s not out yet... maybe try actually reading some of the threads before you go firing off your own questions...
Best way to convert DVD to DivX?

Joshua Barnes6 said:Look, I'm gonna jump in here too because this thread is getting interesting.
I grabbed some episodes of Seinfeld off a torrent, and they're all sitting there in RealMedia files. My VLC Media Player handles them just fine, no problem at all, but my home DVD player? Total brick. It won't touch them. So, naturally, I downloaded "Handbrake" thinking I'd just convert everything over to DivX and call it a day. But get this—every single time it hits the 90% mark, it just spits out a "failed" error message right in my face. Like, seriously?
Can anyone help me out here? Is there some secret trick I'm missing, or maybe a better program out there that actually works without being a total headache? I just want something simple...
Did you even try the one I linked for you earlier???

Look, you aren't gonna learn anything new or get any real answers from this thread at this point. It's just a loop. One guy says it's amazing, the next guy swears it's garbage, and some third guy is just sitting there waiting for the final release version to drop... blah, blah, blah.🤷
My brother actually sat down yesterday and installed Windows 7 (7057) x64, and honestly? So far, it's killer. It runs incredibly fast and I haven't run into a single thing that bugs me yet...
