Even if you factor in decent shipping costs, once you add our local sales tax and customs duties since we aren't part of the same trade bloc, it actually ends up being cheaper to just buy from a domestic retailer like Best Buy or Micro Center... plus, you get a local warranty right here! 😁 And honestly, trying to claim those overseas rebates can be a total headache for everyone involved...
So, I say go for the US options. For us, the only real way to save is by catching those big sales on the European Amazon sites...
Just take a look at the prices in various European shops... like Newegg and others... there's always something available... you can browse through German retailers as much as you want.....
AMD Radeon RX 580
AMD Ryzen 3 1600
G.Skill 8GB DDR4-2133
Xilence A402
Kingston SSD
Seagate BarraCuda HDD
Fractal Design Define S Black Window case

MSI MAG series motherboard
Corsair CS550M
Black
$8.99 from $1,090.79
I had this idea that I wouldn't need to touch this PC for quite some time... you know, just let it sit there and run my games without any issues, and maybe eventually swap out the graphics card down the road...
Wait, so I can't get an answer unless I'm buying from Micro Center, Best Buy, or Future Tech!? Seriously? If I built this exact setup at Micro Center, it would actually end up costing me $333 more!
🙂
Hey there,
I was wondering if I could get some thoughts on this build I'm looking to order from an online retailer over in Germany??
The total price is coming out way cheaper than what I'd find locally... especially that processor...
Intel Core i5-6600K 3.5 skylake box - 210 EUR
MSI GeForce GTX 960 4GD5T OC 4GB GDDR5 - 170 EUR
MSI Z170A GAMING PRO - 120 EUR
Kingston HyperX Fury Black DDR4 2133MHz 16GB - 56 EUR
Corsair 630 Watt - 50 EUR
Seagate Barracuda ST1000DM003
1TB, 7200U/min, SATA3, 3.5" - 41 EUR
ADATA Premier SP550 240GB (this one gets amazing reviews in every single benchmark out there...) - 54 EUR
TOTAL - $2167 including shipping!
If I were buying here in the States, I'd probably grab a Zalman power supply too and have them pack it all up... or maybe even pick out a case and pay them to do the full assembly for me... I just can't decide...
crimsonstag84 said:The performance jump isn't really that noticeable when you compare it back to Haswell... honestly, we’d probably hit that 7k mark with this exact same setup if we just swapped over to a Skylake platform.
for $133 differences?
But wait, if that's the case, then wouldn't this be perfectly fine?

ASRock H81M-HDS R2 motherboard
Intel Core I5 4460 processor
Kingston DDR3 1600MHz, C11, 8GB, KVR16N11/8
XFX R9 390 8GB, XFX-R9-390P-8DF6
Toshiba DT01ACA100 1 TB 3.5
ZAL-ZM-Z1 Fortron mid tower case, black, USB 3.0, no PSU included, ZAL-ZM-Z1
Fortron Hyper 600 power supply
Patriot SSD Blaze R545/W430, 120GB, 7mm, 2.5" PB120GS25SSDR
$2209Newegg
An SSD, an i5, and a killer graphics card... You could probably skip the SSD for now if you wanted to swap in a different GPU model with a better warranty, though I really don't think you'd even need to go that route.
So, does this mean there's no Skylake available?
Timothy Kim60 said:So, what kind of work are we talking about here? Like, what software will you be running?
Is $1833 actually a mistake? That PC mentioned above is definitely $2167.
Oh, nothing too intense... it's not like I'm doing heavy graphic design or anything 🙂
I'll mostly just be using the computer for everyday stuff, you know, browsing the web, watching movies, and things like that...
And for me, playing games like Alien isolation, Call of Duty, and so on...
Timothy Kim60 said:First off, what's the actual plan for this PC? What kind of monitor are we talking about (what resolution)?
If you're just browsing the web, doing office work, and stuff like that—you definitely don't need a high-end rig, especially not a GPU that costs more than two grand. If there's some specific specialized work involved, let me know.
If it's for gaming—just thinking out loud here—you could probably squeeze in an AMD Radeon R9 390 or maybe a GTX 970, perhaps paired with an Intel Core i5-4460, and certainly with an AMD FX-8300. In that scenario, going with the Skylake wouldn't really be worth the investment...
It's intended for work, but honestly, it's really for gaming... I guess I haven't been a 🙂 gamer for very long... I have a 22" Samsung monitor... it's HD... it works for now...
Maybe I'd rather switch over to Intel; I've always used AMD, and my old Ryzen 5 lasted me a solid 12 years... but people say making the jump to Intel is the better move...
Budget? Let's say around $5,500....
Please, feel free to throw out some suggestions!!!!!!
Hey there,
I'm currently looking at options to finally replace my 13-year-old Athlon64 🙂
What are your thoughts on this setup? Or should I just stick with an 1150 socket build instead? I already have a monitor... and a 2.1 speaker system...

Greetings!
So, I am currently looking at signing a representation agreement with an Italian corporation—essentially acting as their sales agent for Canada—which means they would be paying me roughly $20,000 $0.00 gross. From that amount, I’ll need to cover my own salary, travel expenses, and all the overhead for the small business I plan to launch. I am seeking some expert advice here:
Since I don't quite have the $20,000 $0.00 required to incorporate as an LLC, I am considering setting myself up as a sole proprietorship instead... My question is, what should my reported income look like, and what is the best way to withdraw the remainder of the funds they pay me (things like travel costs, renting a room to serve as my "office," etc.)??... Just to reiterate, the Italians have agreed to reimburse all startup costs related to establishing the company upon presentation of receipts...
Also, what does it actually mean when people talk about leaving a quarter of your capital sitting in a sole proprietorship?
Are there any other specific pitfalls or details I should be keeping a close eye on?
I know, I know, I have a hundred questions, but I am a complete novice in this arena...
Thank you so much!!!
So, I just finished installing a fresh copy of Windows 7 x64 and went ahead to download the latest Daemon Tools 4.35 Lite... I start the installation process, and immediately, it throws an error saying "not a valid win32 application"?!?!
Help me out here! Thanks so much!
So, here is my question:
Is there any chance that a pregnancy test (like Clearblue) could show a positive result even if there isn't actually a pregnancy?
So, what exactly is going on this March 16th? I’m a bit lost here... people seem to be mentioning it in several different posts, but I can't quite wrap my head around it...🙂
I am fully aware that this question has probably been asked a hundred times already...
My period is currently nine days late. On the third day of being late, I took a test—it was negative. Then again on Wednesday, still negative, but then on Friday, it came back positive!
We used Blue Cross tests every time in the evening, since the instructions say you don't necessarily have to wait until the morning.
Is there any actual possibility of getting a positive result when there isn't a pregnancy? I mean, the results changed completely within just two days...
Thank you!
