Eric Adams - Mayor of San Francisco

Looking at the last few pages, you'd think everything is just sunshine and rainbows in San Diego if their biggest crisis is one single tree getting cut down.

The only thing I’m happy about is seeing it clearly on this forum: thanks to the hard work of users like Zachary Anderson20 and the most die-hard fans of Spit and that golden boy Ivošević, they’ve finally realized how hollow this whole story actually is.
Use your heads at the next election, people. 🙂
Emily Smith6 said:Unprecedented outrage from San Francisco residents following the destruction of a landmark tree in Manhattan: ‘They crushed it with a bulldozer; this is the absolute bottom.’ Ivošević has also weighed in.
NIGHTLY ACTION: 'Eric, why Manhattan? Why the Small Mall?'
The Republican Party slams the San Francisco administration over the removal of the Pelegrinka: 'They’re just trying to wash their hands of this execution.'Yesterday, in a move that has left all our fellow citizens devastated, the most beautiful Pelegrinka in the city was struck down and liquidated. This was an act of ecocide, occurring despite the fact that its diameter grants it legal protection under both environmental laws and the City Planning Department guidelines.
What is truly shocking is the sheer ease with which the Deputy Mayor attempted to distance himself from this execution, essentially trying to reduce his role to that of some random Facebook commenter or bystander. The logic is fairly simple—regardless of whatever excuses you might offer, the liquidation of a protected tree happened during a term where you hold executive power, and with power comes responsibility.
It is particularly jarring coming from someone who built a political career fighting against exactly these kinds of incidents while working as an activist. I suppose it seems the comfort of an office chair and an official government car has managed to erode his empathy.
Poor communication strategies are going to be the undoing of Puljko and Ivošević; the public is already pinning the blame on them. Even if the previous administration was actually at fault, people have short memories. I’m already seeing commenters saying they no longer feel represented by their voices.
Zachary Anderson20 said:I'm with you on the bridge—honestly, that project was the only decent thing that party ever pulled off in San Francisco. As for the rest of it, I’ve already listed a bunch of their fake promises and propaganda, and that’s just a tiny fraction of it. Why would you even believe they aren't conning people?
Zachary Anderson20 said:I don't know if you remember, but I vividly recall back in 2017 when he was writing about how certain parties were nothing more than massive political scams. Isn't it funny how history repeats itself? Like I said, this move doesn't surprise me at all; we've seen how he gets rid of anyone who actually knows what they're doing and might end up becoming more popular than him.

Now she’s playing the health card. It seems like ever since the media started digging, everyone’s suddenly fallen ill. Funny how they were perfectly healthy and chill when they were busy lining their pockets. 🤣
A TOTAL BIZARRE CASE
We stepped into the luxury suites right on the San Francisco Waterfront: How is it even possible for someone to fleece the public like this?Neither Reić Šerbo nor Periš seem particularly eager to explain themselves now that the scandal has broken.
"I don't want to talk about it; I've been hounded enough already. Given my health situation, I'm barely hanging in there," Reić Šerbo told us.
"No comment," Periš said shortly. He actually handed his role as association president back to his predecessor back in 2022. He’s been involved with about ten different companies, mostly in the tourism sector. Currently, he runs a restaurant located, quite fittingly, on the ground floor of that very same building.
And then there's the head of the "Sell America" crowd, Andreja Plenković Lemo, watching this whole circus unfold. 🤣
Speaking at the anniversary of the local paper, Plenković remarked: The media should serve as a check and balance.
...come on, look at the pattern here. This woman just goes after reporters on Facebook. Seriously? Use Facebook for that now?!

A whole bunch of fit women (who were actually the reason I went to the gym) lost their fitness spot, and a ton of kids, middle-aged folks, and people with disabilities lost their hall—and those kids actually had stuff going on there. Look... I've mentioned this plenty of times before: someone needs to look at what Tacherica said a long time ago... there is no such thing as "society," there's just a bunch of private interests clashing. Have our smart local small business owners been offered any kind of alternative? Where is our Mayor? Is he actually doing anything, or is he just running around playing pretend, dreaming about becoming the next Prime Minister? And whose money is he burning to do it?

What’s happening here in San Francisco is just surreal. And honestly? A little scary to watch.
It hits me hard thinking about how much money—probably hundreds of billions over the last thirty years—has just vanished through sheer incompetence at the federal level.
🤦
Gross.

The RX6600XT is roughly $380 and it’s only about 10% faster, so just do the math yourself...

Sean Palmer67 said:Are you guys actually reading the reports, or are we all just blindly swallowing Puljak’s smoke and mirrors? Seriously, look at the fine print in the 2022 reports—revenue went up because salaries increased, which naturally bumped up the local tax revenue, plus there was more real estate turnover. Meanwhile, expenses dropped simply because they skipped out on full municipal maintenance—not to mention there wasn't any major investment made at all. So, yeah, money just sits in the account. Can anyone actually name a single major city investment this administration has actually kicked off?
Emily Smith6 said:The San Diego city officials are bragging about a $15 million surplus in the city budget, presenting it as a masterclass in fiscal discipline. Meanwhile, Ivica Puljak claims the skeletons are finally starting to crawl out of the closet.- Our budget execution shows we’ve managed to save money through sheer rationality, paying down debts, and actually collecting what was owed. Because of all this, the City of San Diego is in a strong financial position today, - said Mayor Ivica Puljak, noting that these savings will fund upcoming projects—primarily building schools, gymnasiums, and preschools, improving San Diego Beach, and finishing the construction and equipping of the technology park at Dračevac.
The Deputy Mayor, Antonio Kuzmanić, also weighed in on the state of the city treasury, emphasizing that reaching this positive balance required a massive amount of work. He reminded everyone that when the current administration took power in June 2021, they inherited a $4.5 million surplus, but were also saddled with nearly $10 million in debt, which was fully paid off by the end of 2021.
In 2022, there were significant expenses related to the public transit system due to rising fuel costs, but subsidizing the municipal transit provider ultimately resulted in a noticeable improvement in public transportation services. He also pointed to fulfilling inherited obligations, such as salary increases for preschool educators and city employees.
- Despite all those expenditures, through responsible financial management, cutting waste, and streamlining operations across various sectors—including municipal companies—as well as increasing the collection of utility fees and rent from users of city property, we successfully achieved the $15 million surplus currently sitting in our account.
- Over the last two years, we’ve cleared over $15 million in debt and outstanding obligations, bringing the City back into the black. We increased revenue, but not through tax hikes; instead, we focused on collecting fees and rents. We had commercial spaces that people hadn't paid for in years, - noted Antonio Kuzmanić.
- Now, the skeletons are starting to emerge regarding the business operations of the interim manager of the Water Department. Through his irresponsible management, he has jeopardized the very existence of the utility—we are talking about tens of millions of dollars. At the same time, he irresponsibly gave employees an 18 percent raise.
That is how they view public finances. We approach them responsibly. What we have in the bank is the result of careful saving. We don't want anyone on the outside, especially the Republican Party, thinking this is just some extra cash they can swoop in and spend, because they are used to handling money quite recklessly.
We saved this money so we could invest in preschools, schools, sports halls, and pay raises for those who earned them. We will continue to manage this money responsibly, the way we know how, rather than the way the Republican Party has done things until now, - added Ivica Puljak.
When reporters asked specifically how these savings were achieved, Antonio Kuzmanić used toner cartridges as an example.
- When we arrived, the City was spending $75,000 a year on toner; today, it's about $17,000. That alone represents a yearly saving of roughly $8,500 because we implemented electronic signatures, - explained Antonio Kuzmanić.
The Split Republican Party Chief: The City has $15 million in its account and no idea how to manage it.The Split GOP Chief, Tomislav šut, recently pointed out that the City has roughly $15 million sitting in its accounts. Apparently, this surplus comes from an uptick in income tax revenue—money that isn't being funneled into actual development projects. To him, this is a clear sign that the current administration lacks the basic competence to manage the finances they’ve been handed.
According to his take, that $15 million pile-up is largely due to federal government interventions rather than any strategic moves by Mayor Ivica Puljak. He noted that while having $15 million in the bank might look great for a private business, for a municipal budget and local policy, it essentially means the administration is failing to deliver on its promises.
I suspect the Republican Party already has a roadmap for how to divvy up that $15 million among their own people.

And honestly, it’s a joke that we don't have two planes—some kind of military backup option ready to go.
amberjackal68 said:How could she not be? That whole Three Seas Initiative was clearly designed to serve Russian interests... just like that LNG terminal project. And she was pushing for it like her life depended on it. 😁 It’s almost funny how Joe Biden was the only one who actually stood his ground against it... 🙄
Joshua Myers432 said:If they managed to launch the first satellite and put a man in space, they can certainly manage to build a TV, a fridge, or a car that meets 1990s standards. Naturally, most of the bright minds will flee a country like that, but the nation won't just collapse. All these projections about Russia falling apart are being viewed through our (Western) lens, which is fundamentally flawed. It's like North Korea; people have lived there in misery for seventy years, yet they still sing odes to the Great Leader.
Timothy Stewart4 said:Exactly. If a population is lazy, ignorant, or just plain foolish, they’ll drag even the most enlightened leadership down to their level. But if a nation is driven and smart? They can pull even the worst leaders up. In our case, we're definitely dealing with the first one.
