And let me throw in a number 7... does the lyric from that song "Bad Boy," when the singer is belting out:

"Because you're a bad boy, a big bad boy, you don't want a kid like me."

Is the songwriter actually saying "you don't want a kid like I am," or is it more like "you don't want to have a kid with me"? It's one of those things that just sticks in your head...

Must be nice being able to carry bubble tea around without a care. If I stepped onto a Greyhound bus with a beer, I’d probably be giving the driver a death stare within eight minutes of the first spill...
Just one sip of water and I already feel like I need to go fix my nose.

1. mantili (mostly noticed among the younger female population) Combined with that whole obnoxious business of trying to pull your pants into your boots...

That mantle is called a trench, please, for goodness' sake.🙄

the top 3 Macola moments:
1. that disputed tiger thing
2. those rabbits go-karting
3. bears

I honestly can't recall what that group stole when they all marched together to that big game in NYC... was it a bear, some plastic chef, or maybe just a bunch of rabbits? 🤔

anyone know?

Samuel Murphy6 said:I always used to pull over at one of those generic gas stations. Environmentally speaking, and if you consider a family dinner surrounded by woods, it's total garbage, but at least they actually stock chips, gummy candy, sweets, and Coke.

The only redeeming quality of those Typhoon stations compared to Macola is the decent selection of stuff. I remember once getting my period while riding the bus, and—get this—the station actually had all different kinds of pads and tampons. 😳Just to clarify:

wait, is that the yogurt from Macola? honestly, that stuff is easily the best out there. 🙂

man, I hate this highway!

Carol Jackson45 said:I remember everyone crowding around just to see what was going down, and I just stood up and danced my way through the crowd with a rose in hand, chanting something like "I am The Little Prince"...🙄

I actually wiped out on those damn stairs once during a masquerade party. I was dressed as Marge Simpson, and my wig flew right off. Some woman dressed as Lara Croft ended up helping me up while my traitorous friends just sat there clutching their sides laughing at me.
Ever since then, I don't walk those stairs while I'm drunk... unless I'm so wasted that I can't even remember it happening.🙂

I just realized I actually know the names of all those soap operas on our TV channels:
(in no particular order)

1. Love is Priceless (ABC)
2. A Father's Love (FOX)
3. Unyielding Love (NBC)
4. Love in the Heartland (CBS)
5. Love at Stake (USA Network)
6. Forbidden Love (CW)

😲

Dead Carrot said:My top 5 winter coffee spots in San Diego:

1. Jazz (an absolute classic)
2. Gate of (is that the one near Oakland?)
3. That other cafe right by the Gate of—they have an insane selection of hot chocolates
4. 4th Collector (obviously)
5. The boardwalk when the sun actually decides to show up

I agree with most of this, but I can't stand Jazz... the coffee there is honestly tragic.
And I always end up having to scramble to find something to use in the restroom because, of course, they never stock any toilet paper. 🙂

I feel like I'm seeing the same Sophie Marceau everywhere I look.

I’m honestly just so fed up with the attitude some of these retail workers have lately. It’s like, "Who do you think you're talking to? You're buying your damn gifts from me, aren't you?" Seriously, the sheer nerve of it...
🙂

There’s something kind of beautiful about growing up in a pagan household. It all centers around that tradition of picking out gifts right after Christmas is over, since everyone actually celebrates the New Year instead...🙂
Nonverbal communication tips? in Psychology ·
Look, it’s not like we're talking about being deceptive or immoral here. Honestly, back when I was a teenager, I spent half my life staring at the floor just because I was so incredibly insecure. Making eye contact felt totally overwhelming...
And besides, you can never—and I mean never—draw conclusions based on nonverbal cues if you're only looking at one single sign. You have to account for all the different dimensions involved. I don't want to sound like I'm lecturing anyone, but as far as I recall, nonverbal communication covers things like: vocal dynamics (think tempo, volume, and the specific tone used); facial expressions and micro-expressions (which would include someone staring at their shoes); body language; physical distance or personal space; gestures; there are plenty of other types too, but I can't think of them off the top of my head and I'm definitely not an academic...

And then there’s that handmade needlepoint tapestry—you know, the one everyone seems to own, featuring some woman just sitting there.
The kind you see hanging on a wood-paneled wall in every suburban living room...

Susan Clark10 said:4. when it's time for lunch, it's always at the exact same time (my grandma always does it at 2 PM)

😬
And lunch is basically a full spread: soup, an appetizer, a main course, and a salad.
(But honestly, that’s just part of those sweet memories with Grandma... we can save that for a different list entirely)

Top tier annoyances when dealing with people over 70:

1. When they wrap the remote control in a plastic baggie just to "protect it"...
2. Those endless conversations about absolutely nothing. Like yesterday, I had to sit through a story about how Dinka’s uncle used to lead the choir back in Chicago.
3. The constant barrage of service questions—especially when there are more than two in a row. It’s always stuff like: "When did Mom leave?" "Is it winter in Seattle yet?" "Was the bus crowded yesterday?" "Did you wear your undershirt?" "When are you coming back?" "Do you have your house key?"

Laura Gonzalez44 said:Ugh, those candies are absolutely disgusting. 🤮
It’s like a sweet little trap—you think you're getting that satisfyingly firm center, but then you hit that gross, slimy, revolting mess instead.

My top 5 all-time favorites:

Man, I could talk about food all day...

1. Orange Gatorade gummies
2. Frozen treats or fudge bars (depending on my mood)
3. Nutella
4. Apple strudel (but only if it's from a high-end bakery, not some greasy late-night spot)
5. Deep-fried almonds
🙂

Maybe it’s not even about the principle of the thing...🙂

They told us it was going to happen the day before yesterday. And that was back on June 28th...😬
I've already made up my mind—I'm just going to tank my first semester of statistics. Since that concert is officially a bust, what's the point?...
I didn't even get around to providing the stats...
