So, I went to use the bathroom earlier, and before I even flushed, I noticed some weird buildup in the toilet bowl. I leaned in closer to get a better look, and I swear, I saw these tiny little worms moving around. I’m actually freaking out right now. I’ve heard about worms in stool, but seeing them in urine? That’s a first.
About nine months ago, my urine started looking and smelling really strange. Since I don't have a primary doctor in my area, I ended up at the ER. They basically brushed me off, telling me not to worry and that I probably just wasn't staying hydrated enough. To be fair, I wasn't drinking much water back then. The smell eventually went away after a few months, but the color stayed off. My urine remains dark and cloudy. I finally saw my own doctor to bring it up, and he just told me it would clear up on its own and that there was no need to stress. He didn't even order any tests.
And now, I see these tiny little worms. Does anyone actually know what this could be? I’ve already scheduled an appointment with my doctor, and since I’m traveling back home tomorrow, I'll be seeing him then. I figured I’d ask here first.
Look, a friend just told me she might be pregnant. She’s a minor. They hooked up back in August without protection, though he pulled out in time. She got her period immediately after, the very next day, and has been regular every month since then. But for the last three days, she's had this weird sensation in her stomach. It won't stop. It's constant throughout her entire abdomen. No nausea, no vomiting, and her periods have stayed on schedule. The question is simple: is she just overthinking this, or does she actually need to worry?
I tried talking to my sister about my OCD... I didn't think she’d join my mom in laughing at me this past Saturday. It started out as just casual joking. Then she turned to Mom and said I clearly need to see a psychiatrist because of how much I count things. Mom just started laughing too. I tried explaining what I'm going through and why it matters, but their laughter was louder than my voice. Eventually, I just broke down and went to my room to cry. A little later, I tried explaining it to Mom again. She told me she’s staying quiet about it because people will laugh if they find out I have a disorder. She thinks it'll get me sent to a mental asylum and claims I'm just making this all up. Am I really just imagining this? Why won't she take me seriously? I saw my psychologist again today and we talked about it more. She suggested she should speak with my parents, but they'll just end up yelling at me later because they had to go into the school to meet with a stranger who seems to know me better than they do. At least she believes me and doesn't call me crazy. I don't know how to convince Mom that I actually need a psychiatrist.
Thanks... I'll bring it up when they're actually in a good mood. xD
The movie was a total wash for me. I’m heading to my doctor next week with a referral to see a psychiatrist. My school counselor actually suggested the same thing. Now I just have to break the news to my parents that I have OCD... that’s going to be the hard part. Do your parents actually get what this is? How did you guys bring it up to them? I need some encouragement before I talk to mine. I told my sister today—she’s the one who used to laugh the most whenever I had to repeat something four times. This time, though, I wasn't joking.
I stumbled upon her profile by accident... she claims to have years of experience and all that nonsense. Honestly, I’m just worried about my own future. It feels like nobody's going to want to hire me anymore.
I went to see a psychotherapist a few times. This woman told me straight up that she’d never dealt with a case like mine before and was basically speechless... lol... hahaha... So now I've quit. I don't even bother paying attention to my own thoughts anymore. It's tough, but whatever. It's all just in my head. Total nonsense.
Yeah... I hate having to study. I end up repeating every single sentence four times just to make it stick, and it exhausts me so much that I eventually just slam the book shut... Or when I'm writing notes, I'll find myself bolding certain letters or words four times in a row. I actually start laughing at myself because of it. It’s honestly getting ridiculous.
Honestly, I don't really struggle with any of that... though if I did, I’d probably lose my mind lol. Anyway, I asked my cousin today if she knew any psychiatrists. She said her friend is one, so she’s going to ask if she can take me on as a patient. Now I just need to scrape the money together, because apparently, this isn't cheap. I'm not telling my parents, though. If I tell my mom, she'll just tell me I'm not allowed to go. You're right, it's hard to explain this to someone who doesn't deal with it. Only one of my friends actually knows about my OCD, and she used to have it herself. But hers was a milder version and it just kind of went away when she stopped paying attention to it. I told my boyfriend about it, but I haven't dared to tell my parents yet. I'm terrified of how they'll react. But whatever, I am super happy today! I got a B in Mechanics, yay! And my math teacher graded our work and just told me I passed—and math is easily my biggest struggle. Plus, she actually praised me because I was the only single person in class who solved one specific problem correctly. Exactly. Hahaha. Weeeee
So, I need to see a doctor... but I’ve read that some medications just don't work for everyone. Great. Just my luck. At least I hope nobody thinks I'm losing it. Who am I even supposed to go to? A psychiatrist? Or someone else? I just need someone to tell me this is all just in my head.
Hey, hi everyone... I'm 16. I've been dealing with OCD for five years now. At first, I didn't even realize what was happening to me, but then I started searching online and stumbled upon an answer. It's genuinely terrifying. Today at school, I shifted in my seat at least 20 times... I just hope my classmates didn't notice. Everything else I do, I do four times. I open and close doors four times, flip the light switch four times, turn the faucet on and off four times... I move objects four times, and when I pray at night, I have to repeat everything four times. It’s exhausting. It used to be twelve times or eight. I have this gut feeling that if I don't do it, something terrible will happen—like someone close to me will die or get hurt. That's what really scares me. I told my mom, but she doesn't take me seriously. She just told me not to tell anyone because people will think I'm crazy... and then she and my sister make fun of me. They call me crazy... and honestly, sometimes I start believing them. What kind of normal person places a glass in the exact same spot four times? I tell myself I'll stop counting, but I can't. I don't know what to do... will this ever end? I read that antidepressants might help, along with all sorts of other things. If anyone has advice or anything at all, I really need it. By the way, I wanted to see a therapist, but since I'm a minor, I don't know if I can go on my own. Does therapy actually work? I think I'll need to head to a clinic in Chicago since there isn't one in my town. 😢
