For future reference, when you're posting lab results, please include the reference ranges too. We actually need those to make sense of anything.

A PT/INR of 1.0 is perfectly normal for someone who isn't on oral anticoagulants (like Coumadin or Xarelto). If someone *is* on blood thinners—whether it's for atrial fibrillation, a previous stroke, or a prosthetic heart valve—then we're looking for a target PT/INR between 2 and 3.5.

If you were on that kind of medication, you'd definitely know what PT/INR meant.

Yeah, I had HPV.
As for the PT/INR? I’m not on any blood thinners, which means everything is fine.
Finally got around to getting some blood work done after years of avoiding it. Here’s the breakdown. Everything looks fine and within range except for a few things:

Neutrophil % at 40.1 (should be at least 44)
Lymphocytes at 49.2 (max should be 46)
And the big one—PV INR is sitting at 1.0 (target is 2.0-3.5), and there's a note about anticoagulant therapy

What am I looking at here? Is this bad?

How to get decent internet with a weak signal? in IT Support ·
Alexander James15 said:I’ve got this vacation house out in a spot where the cell signal is pretty much nonexistent. In certain parts of the house, I just get "no service," and in others, my phone manages to cling to an Edge connection just enough to trickle some data through. But here’s the kicker: when I try to use my Verizon internet USB stick with my laptop, nothing works. It connects to the network, sure, but then says the signal strength is at 0%. I tried tethering too, but no luck there.

I heard there are these access point devices designed to grab a better signal—basically, you plug the USB stick into them and they broadcast Wi-Fi to your laptop. Has anyone actually messed around with those? Any specific gear you'd suggest? I really don't want to drop money on some hardware, head out to the mountains, and realize I'm totally cut off from the world since I need the web for work...

Just pick up a Homebox B260 or something better and unlock it. If Verizon doesn't have any coverage out there, just swap to T-Mobile or whoever has the best rates in the area and call it a day. That’s exactly what I did for my place in the mountains. Those little USB sticks are useless; their antennas are pathetic.
Nosy banks in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
Chris Chase5 said:At the end of the day, lending money is a bank's core business, and they take on the risk of default every single time they issue a loan. When they ask you questions, it isn't because they’re being nosy; it’s about building a solid risk profile. It’s just much more likely that someone with a steady, high income or someone buying a home they actually intend to live in will follow through on their payments...

According to some statistical studies, married individuals tend to be more financially responsible than single people, and things like that. Personally, I think it's better to just provide the information requested, especially since being transparent might actually help you land better terms down the road.

Plus, they are legally obligated to gather as much data as possible to prevent money laundering and terrorism financing. Honestly, that part always makes me chuckle—people looking to move illicit funds aren't exactly standing in line at a local Chase branch waiting for a teller to help them out. 😁

Your logic is a bit off here; banks aren't trying to be nosy, and they certainly aren't the Gestapo...😁

Look, if it affects my credit score, I’d rather be upfront about it than lie about my income, even though those things shouldn't technically overlap.
We all know what the requirements are for a loan or an overdraft. I had an overdraft approved for $16667 based on nothing but my minimum salary, simply because I was constantly depositing large amounts of cash. The system probably flagged me automatically. I mean, who else would grant me that kind of limit on a minimum wage? Nobody. But when I actually went into the bank to apply for a formal loan, they told me my income could only support a monthly payment of $100. Basically, they said I can't carry more than $1,500 in debt. So why give me such a huge overdraft limit in the first place?? It feels like they're practically inviting people to screw over the bank and overextend themselves.

No. You just take the printed report straight from NASA.

Your monthly statement tells you everything—if you're meeting the requirements and what your limit looks like. But look, if there's zero cash flowing into that account? Yeah, good luck with that.

Why don't I have her email? Who knows if she's even still there. No phone number either, and I can't exactly fix that right now since they wrap up client meetings by 2 PM. I'll just send over a new form and attach a formal letter as a PDF. Let them think whatever they want!

I need to file an amended sales tax return. I sent mine over yesterday, but then I realized I messed up—the software missed one day of total sales. So, if I submit a corrected version today, does the IRS just treat it as a formal amendment to yesterday's filing? Do I need to include some kind of explanatory note or anything? Thanks.

I can't even begin to process this. Is anyone else seeing this? It’s just one thing after another. Honestly, how are we supposed to make sense of any of it anymore? Everything feels like a joke, but nobody is laughing. Just more of the same. Total chaos.
ruggedmaker2 said:Look, if there’s no sales tax listed on the invoice, it means the tax liability has been shifted onto you. That means you’re on the hook for the tax itself, but you also get the benefit of claiming it as an input credit.
You report that sales tax in your quarterly filings under sections II. 10. and III. 10., plus in the standard sales tax return form

Here’s the guide for the sales tax return

You can find the rest of the instructions right here:
http://www.irs.gov/sales-tax-guidelines

I’m not entirely sure how this works for individual freelancers, but if you’re running an LLC, you’ve gotta book all of this in your formal financial accounting.
Invoice: 4.... / 221...
Sales tax: 1... input credit / 2... sales tax payable (honestly, I don't know which chart of accounts you're using)

You clear out the vendor account once you pay them. As for the input credit in account 1 and the tax payable in account 2, you clear those out using a journal entry at the same time you file your monthly tax return. Basically, by clearing those class 1 and 2 accounts, you’re either showing what you owe the government or showing a credit if you overpaid.
Then, when you actually pay that amount or when the IRS sends you a refund, you clear that obligation or credit using your bank statement as the basis—either when they cut you a check or when they apply it to your account.
If you just show a credit on your return but don't actually ask for a refund or a direct transfer—maybe you just want to leave it as a prepayment—then you just let it sit in the appropriate class 1 account until you actually use it.

So, when exactly is the deadline to settle that sales tax?

I’ve been wondering about how this works with Germany. When I'm entering their tax ID into my system, am I supposed to include the DE prefix before the numbers, or just the ID itself?
