Ricciardo had a solid start, but Norris's launch was pretty rough.

Russell always seems to be right on the edge of grabbing those points, doesn't he? haha

I could only see what the cameras were pointed at, so I missed the rest of the track. I stand corrected.
Max launched out of the gates like he was shot from a cannon.
It’s honestly a miracle Logan Sargeant hasn't slammed into a wall yet.

Edit: And there goes Lance Stroll, he's out. 😁
Max took that one without even breaking a sweat.
Half the track is barely damp, then suddenly it's a complete washout. I haven't seen the rest of the circuit yet, but honestly, running full wets might actually be the move here.
Why on earth did they put Pierre Gasly on full wets?
What a total washout.

It’s basically just mud at this point.

I totally get why people feel that way.

Personally, I think Kimi is a hundred times more arrogant and blunt—though people let him slide because he’s supposedly "funny." Max just doesn't have a filter. Like most Americans, he just says exactly what's on his mind. It reminds me of Sebastian Vettel; I actually love how he stands out during press conferences. He's clearly his own person.

As for those early career blunders, every single young driver goes through that while they're learning the ropes. People still call him Crashstappen, even though he hasn't had a major wreck like that in years.

And this stuff about his dad... man, who can ever please everyone? Half the grid only got their shot because of their fathers or massive sponsors. The guy is talented. He can drive. He isn't like Nikita Mazepin, who looks like he belongs in a rally car rather than an NFL car.
It looks like Max Verstappen has somehow managed to troll half the people in this thread. The sheer amount of teasing is unreal.

Look, I’m not exactly a huge fan of Fernando Alonso or Sebastian Vettel, so I don't go out of my way to bash them every five seconds, but man, seeing everyone here constantly taking shots at Max is something else.
The grid is so incredibly tight this season. It looks like everyone—except maybe the guys at Alfa Romeo and Haas—is going to have a legitimate shot at scoring points. We’re talking about absolute wars in the midfield. It’s finally going to be a real fight from start to finish. I haven't even properly settled into the season yet, and I already love this lineup more than the last two combined 👋

What can I even say?

I honestly think he just burned out from riding shotgun with Lewis Hamilton for years. You give it everything you've got, you push yourself to the limit on the track, and then Lewis shows up and beats you by a tiny margin—not once, but constantly. That kind of thing leaves a mark. It kills you mentally.

It feels like he’s gone full Kimi Räikkönen on us. Just totally checked out.
Back to basics mode again.

Lewis and Max are on mediums, while Perez is running softs. This is going to be a wild one.
Things have shifted. Now it’s just Mercedes standing alone against two Red Bull Racing cars, whereas before, Max Verstappen was basically out there on his own.

Valtteri Bottas had a pretty lackluster start to the season.
Tough break for Lando Norris and those track limits.

Hamilton, Perez, and Max Verstappen all within a tenth of a second 🙏
Carlos Sainz 🤣

Watching Alonso's slide
Latifi was actually faster than George Russell 🙏 🙏

Both Williams Racing drivers made it into Qualifying 2
Man, they are absolutely shredding those track limit violations today like a machine gun. 🤣
Are they running in Qualifying 2 or Qualifying 1?

I think they mentioned moving some of the sessions around because of a funeral.
