It’s honestly pure stupidity to constantly downplay Lewis Hamilton's wins just by pointing out he had a great car. It's like you all have collective amnesia regarding 2014, 2015, and 2016—you clearly forgot what was actually happening with Mercedes back then and how they were constantly pitting him against Nico Rosberg.
Now, finally, after two or three years of waiting, he’s got some real competition again. He drove like a master today, and this season is going to be absolutely legendary if Max Verstappen and him keep trading blows like this until the end.
If you can judge a season by how it starts, we are in for a brutal ride this year.
Hopefully, Perez steps up his game in qualifying for the next race; that would really help Max out. Today he was basically running solo, whereas Bottas ended up giving Lewis a massive hand at the finish.
If you ask me, when you're in the middle of a tight duel like that, they shouldn't be handing out penalties for going off track. Honestly, he didn't have any other choice—he had to slam on the brakes to avoid a disaster.
Regardless, it was a class move by them to let him through.
Max lost his grip on those tires after that, and he completely lost his rhythm. Hamilton just outplayed him at every turn; he knew exactly what he had to do.
Good grief, these directors... you’ve got a massive showdown brewing between Ricciardo and Leclerc, and they decide to pivot the camera to some totally irrelevant bit about Alonso instead.
I am so sick of these modern broadcast directors and their pathetic little camera crews who can't stop zooming in. You can't see anything live anymore.
