So I picked up a test today and headed into work... turns out, I'm officially pregnant!
My period is already six days late... I'm going to grab a test tomorrow and just see what happens.
Maybe it'll actually give me a straight answer this time!
Day 19 of my cycle
I honestly don't even know if it's possible she missed it, considering she was doing that whole vaginal ultrasound on me...
The absolute worst part is when my period is late, because then I just start feeling all those symptoms like I'm about to go through it again...

So, I just got out of the shower and noticed this tiny little brown spot on my daily liner. I think I read somewhere on a forum that this can happen right at the beginning...

Please, someone, talk some sense into me and convince me I'm just freaking out :-)
I don't know, I'm still feeling pretty anxious about this...
It wouldn't be ideal if I were pregnant... I'm getting married on June 16th, so honestly, I don't care about that part—my only real stress is my job...
I just started a contract position, and I'm supposed to go permanent on April 19th, but there's a chance they might just extend my current term until someone comes back from medical leave...

One more thing...

I went to see my OBGYN back on March 28th and she told me everything looked fine...
She did run a Pap smear...

Is it possible to tell if you're pregnant from a Pap test?
My period is 6 days late...
I stopped taking my birth control pills last month, and for the previous two months, everything arrived right on day 28, but now it’s just... late.
I can't tell if this is some kind of hormonal mess-up from stopping the pills or if... I'm pregnant!

I’m planning on having a cake surrounded by little Minion cupcakes... so if anyone wants one, feel free to grab it, I guess.

Yeah, I have the catalog right here. Honestly, I love them too. I just haven't quite nailed down the shape or the flavor yet. They have chocolate or fruit options, but it definitely has to be white and burgundy on the outside!👍

If you want my advice, skip the fruit flavors. I’ve been to way too many weddings where the fruit filling leaked through the frosting, and it looks pretty messy...
Personally, I’d go with chocolate or maybe hazelnut.

Where did you end up going to talk about the cake?

Arthur Ramirez4 said:We’ve got about 40 people coming to the wedding, which, if you ask me, is actually the perfect number for a celebration like this. $133 Teenage birthday cake? Honestly, we can make absolutely whatever we want, so let's just go for it. It’s going to be great. $3.25 Personally, I feel like that’s pretty much the standard price you'll see most of the time, though I suppose it could vary depending on who you ask, but at least from what I've been reading on the forums lately, that seems to be the consensus.🙂

But honestly, I wouldn't bother making a cake for every single guest; I'd just go for something smaller, maybe three tiers...
If you have their catalog handy, I really love those first two cakes in the second row under the wedding section...
This might sound like a dumb question, but...
Are you going to use fondant?
Where did you end up meeting with them to discuss everything?

Benjamin Hill10 said:Alright you geniuses, help me out like you always do. How many cakes do I actually need for 120 people if there’s no formal reception at her place or his? It's just a standalone party. 👋

Benjamin, we ended up getting about 200 servings of sweets and a massive tiered cake for roughly 150 guests.

So, how much did they end up charging you???

Hey, folks from the Indianapolis area...
you seriously need to check out the wedding cakes over at Crown...
I was honestly blown away, so I'm definitely going to give their head pastry chef a call to get everything sorted out

I just wanted to clarify that those aren't even her cookies in the photo, but I actually hand-delivered them to her myself, so I'm demanding they look exactly like that...

Charles Roberts41 said:Scott Smith68, where are you planning on ordering those from? I wonder how many pounds we can actually get our hands on... they honestly look so incredibly delicious...

There’s this lady out in the countryside near St. Louis who does private baking...
It’s about $7 a pound...
The cakes are $33,
and if you order from her, you get a $133 for the wedding day...

This is exactly how my cookies are going to turn out... mmmmmm

I honestly think Black Forest and Dobos cake are the absolute best flavors out there... I’ve been mulling it over myself... I'll just see what my baker suggests when we talk.
The thing that’s actually stressing me out, though, is that the wedding is in June. They’re saying 2007 is going to be an absolute scorcher, and I keep praying to God that my cakes don't just melt into a puddle before anyone can eat them.

Thanks nike23, but do you actually know where I can pick one of these up?

Does anyone know the name of that smooth frosting or coating they use on fancy wedding cakes?
The lady making my cakes mentioned she’d have to order the supplies from Washington, D.C., but I honestly have no clue where to even look or what the damage might be, so I guess I'm asking for help

Ugh, so many people from the Midwest... I'm just glad the damage isn't too bad... if you guys happen to stumble upon anything cheap, please just let me know...
There are actually some decent finds over at Wedding Advice in Super (ground floor)

And we’re going to have those little dessert boxes...
Plus, I need enough for both his place and my house. It’s kind of a tradition on my street—once the guests head out, whoever was "watching" the house invites the whole block over for a snack and some treats. If we're looking at about 7 ounces per person, then for 150 people, I'd need roughly 65 pounds just for the reception. If we package that same amount into individual boxes, that’s another 65 pounds. So we're talking 130 pounds total... plus him, me, and my mom all having to lug that stuff around to work...
But hey, what do I know...
I still have this nagging phobia that we aren't going to have enough food. :-D
