Everything you need for a California wedding in Weddings ·
Kyle Young3 said:I haven't called them personally... but digging through some forums, it looks like they're charging about $65—and that doesn't even include drinks! So I passed immediately. The place looks great, honestly. But I've heard nothing but bad things about their food quality. Who knows? I've never actually stayed there, so it feels stupid to claim I know for sure without any firsthand experience.

We actually had our wedding there, so I was curious how much the prices had jumped since 2007... For us, it was seriously amazing and the food was sooo good, like, incredibly good... truly great. We did get absolutely ripped off on one specific drink, though...

Kyle Young3 said:I know Patrick's place... that doesn't work for me. The party is going to be smaller, but it won't just be a standard dinner—there's going to be a live band. Most restaurants aren't down for that. And catering isn't an option either because the venue is too small for them to bother. The Hilton is way too expensive, even if the setting is beautiful. Honeybee has a small hall, but it's absolutely gorgeous. Honestly, they haven't renovated it since the hotel first opened. 😲
Bottom line, the search continues. 🙂

Anyone know what the rates are at the Atlantic Ocean hotel (in Malibu, right?) for tonight?

So I just finished a massive four-tier wedding cake, and guess what? Not a single soul at the restaurant even blinked.
There was a whole spread of homemade desserts too, and still... total silence. Nothing.

..Also looking for ideas for a wedding cake🙂

I can hook you up with my girl for makeup—she’s done me for weddings and being a bridesmaid, and honestly, she kills it. She’s even got a Facebook page 🙂
Sending you a DM now 🙂

Dolis has plenty of options! In Dolis Lesnina, they have two identical square halls, and each can hold 300 people. They’re nice halls. There's plenty of parking... and you won't hear the music from the other hall!
They charge $37 per person. The food is great, and the manager is excellent! You should go check out those halls in Lesnina and set up a tour.

At Phoenix, they have a smaller room for 210 people and then a larger one... though I'm not sure how many the bigger one holds. Honestly, the food at Dolis is better.

There’s also Castello in the suburbs; they have two rooms. The bottom one is bigger and fits about 300. To be honest, the top room is way nicer and has a better layout, but you couldn't fit even 250 people up there. I didn't really vibe with the manager there, 😬 and apparently, the food isn't anything to write home about! 🤷 At least, that's what I've heard from others.

A friend of mine went to Fabula once. I haven't been myself... but word on the street is it's nothing special. 🤷
Kokolo over on Kotex can take 300 people, but they're $40 a head... and it's all renovated.

Bolero over on Victa also takes quite a few people, but they're more expensive.

I don't know what else. 🤔

The President Hotel has ridiculously high prices! 😬

Gusar is great in terms of the vibe and the layout, but the hall itself is small! You can't fit 300 people in there.🤔

Just dropping in quickly... seriously, when you finally get married... (password: pralines 😂)

William Cook35 said:Right. So, I swung by the local parish office earlier. They told me straight up they aren't booking dates for next year yet—only for the current one. Apparently, they don't open up the calendar until December. So, I'm planning to head back there first thing on December 1st to get my name on the list. In the meantime, I went ahead and snagged the reservation at Graso anyway, just so I'm not left hanging when it comes time to eat.

I don't know if I'd say that's okay or not... I mean, can they really not show a little bit of flexibility? It's ridiculous.

Honestly, I had a total nightmare experience dealing with St. Anthony's about four years ago when I was getting married...

William Cook35 said:Hey, I’m a local here in San Francisco—does anyone know if this is just how things work at other churches, or is it specific to them? I called the parish office at St. Francis today because my partner and I are dreaming of getting married at St. Stephen's Church in Manhattan next year. I wanted to lock in a date immediately so I could finally confirm everything with our venue; you know, get those two big pillars of wedding planning out of the way so I can actually breathe. But they told me they don't even start taking reservations for next year until the beginning of January. Honestly, I was floored. I can't exactly sit around waiting on the church when the restaurant is already booked solid and I’ve got nothing to show them to secure our spot. Has anyone else dealt with this kind of thing before? Is there any way to cut through the red tape and make a deal with them early? We’re really set on that specific church!

Look, just letting you know I'm actually acting as a bridesmaid for a wedding at Manhattan right now, and honestly, everything went exactly how you're fearing. Like, the party was for maybe 30 people and the hall felt tiny... if you catch my drift. Everything was basically a last-minute scramble.

Raymond Brooks7 said:🤦 Well, how could you not know? That's where I got married. P.S. I was just back there for a party, and honestly, the food is incredible. I think I finally realized how good it actually is.👍👍

Dad, I actually thought of you, but then I figured you married women don't ever bother coming around here anymore... PSHHH...😛😛😛😛😛😛😛😛

Alex Carter3 said:I can't speak for the mill, but if you mean Kaštel Slanica (assuming it's the one in San Diego), it’s absolutely top-tier. 😉 My niece had her wedding there, and I've visited a few times myself—the food is incredible. 🙏

Thanks... I guess.
Yeah, he's the one...
I was thinking about hosting a little christening for the baby over there... I mean, more like a lunch party...🤣

Help me out here...

Does anyone have the scoop on good spots for duck or mill-style food in San Diego or maybe near a coastal town like Malibu?
Henry Baker2 said:Unfortunately, yeah... there was someone on this forum once... what was her name... Trollsella or something... she got pregnant the exact same way and now she’s having triplets. 😍😍😍
Your fingers are freaking broken.. 🙂🙂

Look, since you're already in college, maybe crack open a high school biology textbook and go through the basics: menstruation, sperm, ovulation, intercourse, pregnancy..
Then maybe $10 take another test, chill out, and stay away from sex, "fingering" ( 🙂 ), and the internet for a while.
Go home!

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

LMAO hahahahaha

God, you people are insane ahahahahah

You think you're way too smart for your own good.

Look, I’m not even trying to act like I know everything!!! I’ve been deep in the HPV rabbit hole for 7 years now, and honestly? Most of what you're saying is just straight-up nonsense. But hey... sure, I guess there are exceptions. The odds are probably like 1 in 100,000,000,000,000,000,000,000!

Hey Blondie, I need a lead on a good bakery. I’ve got all the cookies and pastries covered, but when it comes to actual cakes? Not helping me one bit. image

Jeffrey Castillo8 You might want to call a few local bakeries to see how many tiers you'll need for 280 guests. A friend of mine ordered a seven-tier cake for 120 people; she eventually realized four would have been plenty, though she didn't mind having extra to share.

ugh, right... I was literally just thinking the exact same thing!!!!!!!! does anyone actually know????
