Let’s be real for a second here. We’ve got four-time, two-time, and one-time champions all sitting on the grid. So, when you look at the whole picture—career trajectory, luck with the car, motivation levels, getting kicked out of Formula 1 and all that—it still boils down to one fact: Kimi is definitely the most talented driver of the bunch, even if he is the oldest. I guess if he had Alonso's grit, combined with Seb's luck or Louie's chance to sit in a dominant car during his prime, he probably would have walked away with way more titles and wins, assuming they actually gave him the chance... He’s older, sure, and maybe a little lazy, but he’s still easily the most gifted guy on the grid.
Well, if the moderator needs to move it, they should just go ahead and move it.
Are you putting my posts in the Recycle bin?😒
stormytiger4 said:Guys, maybe we could move this whole DRS debate to a different thread? It’s just going to get lost here after a few pages of posts.
And why exactly do you want that? I mean, weren't you basically declared a total newbie today😵 who doesn't have a clue? (Not your fault, I guess, if you didn't really step up as a moderator when you had the chance)😁 Now you're over here complaining to the Water Department along with the rest of us...🍿
stormybadger8 said:It's honestly a joke, a total disgrace. Lewis Hamilton didn't get penalized for that mess even though the rules are crystal clear...
Meanwhile, Sebastian Vettel got hit with a penalty right in line with the regulations.
It’s kind of funny, isn't it? Right before all this, Hamilton is on the team radio complaining that the safety car is moving too slow, and then suddenly he just basically stops dead on the narrowest part of the track, and everyone acts like it's totally fine...
Where's DMW hiding? Maybe they're out there gathering signatures for a petition to finally get my crew their own dedicated lane on the highway.🤔

Alright, I'm back using my old handle. Honestly, this thread wasn't banned, and I don't think anyone was actually misled by anything, but whatever. It's all good, no hard feelings at all.

what a guy 🙏

Gonna go harass Dorian and Way to see if I can change my handle🙏🙏🙏

That's just Kimi for you.
That's his whole spirit right there.
I mean, he probably would've torched the entire car just to try and take first place!!!
Honestly, this is one race I don't think anyone can ever really screw up...
It was basically win big or go home, but he's just sitting back there driving like a coward.
I guess the main issue is just how much nonsense the commentators spout. If he had actually pulled into the pits, he wouldn't have even been on the track anymore because the suspension was totally shot.
jadeseal7 said:I honestly thought fifth place was basically right up there with winning.👋 🤣
Quick correction on my "right up there with winning" quote earlier... :dmw:
If you look at how Ferrari has handled Alonso as their lead driver all these years versus their actual win and podium count this season... I mean, someone please just run the math for me. I'm feeling a little buzzed right now and honestly, calculating percentages is the last thing I want to do.
As for all those Kimi Räikkönen haters, I bet they're probably listening to this over a few beers right about now...
Edward Howard2 said:I don't really get why everyone is acting like second place is some kind of championship win 🤷
there's only one winner, and everyone else is just a loser...
let me know how it feels when he's waving from the top step of the podium instead of Lewis's spot 👋 Vettel managed to pull that off earlier this season, but here we're all celebrating a runner-up finish 🙏 which felt like it was handed to him on a silver platter 🙏
Ricciardo absolutely schooled Rosberg on track today—even the master couldn't stop him... then, thanks to a struggling Vettel and Rosberg's brake issues, he basically lucked his way into second...
so, yeah, that's my take ☕
Just take a breath and relax...

Don't sweat it, I guess you'll get your turn eventually.

edit: yeah, the stat is right—he tied with Alain Prost, and all of that happened within a 13-year window. Just goes to show he’s probably ready for retirement.
No one else at the top of the standings has such a massive gap in their fastest lap times from their first race to their last. Except maybe Michael, most of them did it over a pretty short span. Even Ayrton Senna is only trailing him by double, and honestly, Lojzek is just one fastest lap away.
jadeseal7 said:I honestly have no clue what happened to Sebastian Vettel today, and then he had to suffer through 10+ laps stuck behind Valtteri Bottas.
I guess it just seems like Kimi Räikkönen and his fans (regardless of their sexual orientation) prefer him being solid at the front rather than hanging out at the back...😁

So the info is legit since Wikipedia updated it with China. I guess I have to give credit where it's due, even if it's coming from a lazy drunk.😁
jadeseal7 said:Kimi totally played Sebastian Vettel with those different strategies🙏🙏
The guy managed to close a 9-second gap while on slower tires—which were 2 seconds per lap off pace—and then just tore through them on the softs by 19 seconds... I guess.🙏 🙏
Home run Kimi Raikkonen🙏 🙏
PBS was reporting that there’s only Michael Schumacher left at that level, and that he’s basically tied with Alain Prost now, though I suppose we should probably double-check that stat.
Jason Campbell70 said:I mean, who’s actually going to be left to fund this place once all the fanboys inevitably clear out? 🤦
But you've been here the whole time, 😵 so switching up your favorite driver is a completely different story.😁

Just thought I'd drop this here so you can see how things actually look.
What exactly is the "real situation" here? Like, is Adrian Sutil really such a superior driver that he outscored Sebastian Vettel and his entire teammate combined? I guess both you and Tibi might be overstating things just a little bit.
