Ugh, tell me about it, I’m dealing with the exact same thing right now. I’m actually planning to grill my doctor about it tomorrow. On one side, I’ve got maybe three or four of these spots, but then there's just this single one on the other side. It’s the first time I've ever dealt with this, too. They look almost like some kind of weird mite infestation or something. They get super inflamed, bright red, and all nasty and pus-filled. Honestly, it's pretty gross. I tried being a bit aggressive and squeezing them out, then immediately went in with some clindamycin lotion just to make sure everything was disinfected. I’m trying to tell myself it shouldn't be anything major, but still, it definitely doesn't feel normal. I'll hit you guys up once I know more 😁
I mean, yeah, I get it, but honestly, since I’m the one who actually sat down and wrote the post, I feel like I should at least have the option to pull it down if I wanted to, you know? But hey, I guess these rules are just weirdly set in stone here...
Thanks rustydrifter10, but I honestly don't get why we can't just wipe old posts from the board. Not even the admins can clear out those threads?? It feels totally nonsensical to me! Just seems like such a massive oversight!!
Hey guys, quick question for the group—does anyone know the drill for deleting an old post? Also, while I've got you, is there a way to swap out my email address in the profile settings? My old one actually got hacked recently, so I'm trying to get everything updated ASAP. Thanks in advance!
rustybadger9 said:Hey everyone! So, I’m currently staring at a blank page trying to actually "set a budget" for this wedding we're planning... Is there any kind soul out there who can give me a little "guidance" on how to tackle all this? Here’s the deal... we’ve already got a nice little fire station hall booked up in a small town in rural America. But now I need EVERYTHING—from the tiny details down to the suits—and honestly, where’s the best place to shop for all this stuff around the Midwest? 1. How much food should we even get? Like, if we’re doing lamb and pork, what’s the right ratio for about 200 people? And what kind of ballpark figure am I looking at just for the catering side of things? 2. Drinks and booze 3. Videographers and photographers 4. Decorations (for the hall, the church, ribbons on the cars, etc.) 5. The band (please, send your best recommendations!) and obviously, they'll need to include those traditional musicians to play for the bride during the entrance 6. Invitations 7. Suits and the wedding dress 8. And basically anything else I haven't thought of yet... and PLEASE, let me know roughly how much certain items cost. THANKS! =)
I feel the exact same way about that hall 👎 but honestly, you can't really argue with people's tastes. 😁 Plus, trying to pull the whole thing off yourself is going to cost you a massive amount of sanity... so, if you ask me, calculating everything on a per-guest basis is a much better way to go. 😉 Just my two cents ☕
Michelle Thomas77 said:Ugh, same here. I need the tea. 🤣 For all you ladies who already tied the knot or are currently planning the big day—who are your go-to hair and makeup gurus in Indianapolis? 🙄
I actually had Jane from Martimex do my makeup, and honestly, I am beyond thrilled with how it turned out. If you're looking for someone who really knows what they're doing, hit me up in my DMs for her info! 🙂 It feels like every time I turn around, prices are just creeping up again, doesn't it? It’s getting to that point where you look at a receipt and feel like you need a second mortgage just to cover the basics. Honestly, everything is just hovering at this higher level now, and it’s starting to feel like the "new normal," which is pretty exhausting if you ask me. $50Just giving this a quick test run to see if everything's working properly. 👍
Honestly, I don't know what everyone is looking for in a makeup artist, but I had Mary from Martimex do my look and I seriously can't say enough good things about her. I’m incredibly picky when it comes to how my makeup turns out—like, super high-maintenance about the details—but she absolutely nailed it and left me feeling totally stoked with the result.
Casey Hernandez21 said:I was told the rate is $22/lb, so hopefully that helps someone out 🙂 In a small town in the Midwest, it's $18/lb. Both businesses are officially registered, and I still haven't quite made up my mind regarding 🤷 Ladies, how far in advance did you all usually place your dessert orders?
I actually ended up getting my sweets from that place in Small Town, USA—we did all the cakes except for the wedding cake itself—and honestly, I couldn't be happier. Even my guests were raving about them, especially the cakes. Just for reference, the cakes were $40/piece and the assorted treats were $18/kg.
Jesse Morgan73 said:Man... I really, really hope that rumor isn't true. I guess hope dies last, right? But man...😢
That’s exactly what I heard too. I actually had my wedding back in May, and let me tell you, I had to put down a deposit on the vendors like a year and a half before the big day. Just recently, some friends of mine were trying to book them for a date in mid-2011, but they were already totally slammed. Seriously though, you should at least give them a call—I can pass their number along to you if you want.
Jesse Morgan73 said:If I were in my sixth month of planning, I'd probably be putting down deposits for The Beatles and the Microsoft ballroom right now... could you tell me what the booking fee for The Beatles usually runs?
Oh man, sorry! I totally went MIA on this forum for a bit. So, looking at a budget of roughly $1,350—which is just under ten bucks if you're counting differently, haha$0.00—honestly, you really can't go wrong with either Greencrest or The Four Band, they're both solid choices👍.
Hey guys, so I finally tied the knot last Saturday, and honestly? I’m still buzzing. Everything turned out absolutely perfect, just how I dreamed it would be 🙂 My mom actually took on the whole sewing project herself—she made my wedding gown, the after-party dress, and even all the dresses for the bridesmaids, flower girls, and my maid of honor. It was such a special touch and everything fit like a glove 🙂 For my hair, I went to my usual stylist, who always nails it 🙂 Then there was my makeup artist from MAC Cosmetics, who did an incredible job; she gave me exactly the look I was going for, so I can't recommend her enough. As for the venue, we used a gorgeous spot out in the suburbs—top-tier service all around. The band, Quattro, was a total blast and kept everyone dancing! Oh, and the flowers were from a local boutique florist in the Midwest. Seriously, everything was just flawless 🙂
Here’s what I’ve put down so far: The venue is $5,000 $0.00 The band is $2,500 $267 The cake is $500 $0.00 I haven't hired a photographer yet, and my mom is actually sewing my dress herself.
To be totally honest, I think the price is pretty reasonable $500. That $3,000 mark feels a little steep, though, maybe around $1667. I mean, looking at my own monthly paycheck, it’s a lot. I’m no expert on this kind of stuff, but it just doesn't feel like it's worth that much to me. I am absolutely loving the light show, though—it's way more impressive than those basic setups you see at every single wedding. I'll give that guy a call. Plus, it says here that $500 is the absolute ceiling for the price.
Christian Taylor8 said:rowdypanther16, We ended up hiring a guy out of San Bernardino for our light show. If I remember correctly, it’ll run you about 3-$$1667, though that depends on which package you pick (we grabbed ours right when he was starting out two years ago for a steal). I can shoot you his info if you want.
Hey, Christian Taylor8, please send over that contact! I'm definitely gonna give him a ring to see what's up... honestly, I've been getting pretty hyped about the idea of a light show lately, so I might just dive into it. 🙄 thanks👍
Bradley Wright said:I’ve got an amazing wife from Indianapolis, so if you're interested, just shoot me a private message. I see you're looking for a makeup artist too, so I can definitely give her my recommendation again. I used to struggle so much with my skin being incredibly oily; whenever I actually sat down to apply makeup, everything would just slide right off my face. When she finally finished my makeup, I was honestly speechless. I couldn't believe the transformation—it was like looking at a completely different person.
Oh man, thank goodness! I FINALLY found a makeup artist I actually love, 😁 but I'm still totally struggling with my lashes. Could you please DM me her number? And if it's not too much trouble, let me know where she's located. 🤷 Thank youuuu sooooo much! 👍 It feels like nobody else even responds to my posts on this forum anymore. 🙄 😛😉
rapidfox42 said:madima150, we always do a full light show for our weddings—we actually booked ours through Leon Studio out in Chicago. Between the room coloring and the light show for a dance floor that’s about 5,600 sq ft, it's gonna run us around 6,$167.
Man, I don't know... that just feels like a massive amount of money to 🤷
Hey everyone, does anyone happen to know if there are any light show companies that do weddings? I’ve been getting really into the idea lately and think it could be such a vibe... I'm specifically looking for options around Indianapolis and was wondering about what kind of pricing we're talking about these days. Thanks! 😁
