Changing my residency address!? in Miscellaneous ·
Terry Collins9 said:From what I understand, you gotta get your citizenship papers and birth certificate from wherever you were actually born—doesn't matter where you're living now.

Well, that’s not necessarily true if you were just born in Germany and have been living there your whole life. Someone told me before that you can actually pull those documents from wherever you're officially registered.
Changing my residency address!? in Miscellaneous ·
Hey there! Quick question—how long does it usually take to get my residency application processed? Also, can I just handle everything in the city where I actually want to live? Like, can they just cancel my old address and set up the new one all at once right there?

I’m gonna paste this snippet from the Department of Homeland Security website here just so someone can double-check if I'm reading this right... 🙂

A residency application is submitted to the local Police Department or Police Station that has jurisdiction over the area where the citizen is registering their new home. That specific Police Department/Police Station will then handle de-registering the previous address.

So, following that, would I be able to head straight to the local records office in that new city to pick up a new birth certificate or some other official paperwork? Thanks in advance for the help!
GPU Buying Guide - (Read first post) in Desktops ·
Hey everyone—I'm currently shopping for a new graphics card over on Amazon, and I figured I’d drop a few links here to see if you guys could help me pick the winner... basically, which one of these is actually worth my money? Thanks a ton! 🙂

http://www.amazon.de/Sapphire-Radeon...2914772&sr=8-1

http://www.amazon.de/EVGA-passiv-GeF...2914772&sr=8-3

http://www.amazon.de/Gainward-NVIDIA...2914772&sr=8-6

So, what's the verdict on these three? Are there any major differences I should be worried about, or am I just splitting hairs? Seriously, whoever can weigh in and help me out, I owe you one!
Moving from Canada to America: a few questions :) in Miscellaneous ·
Hey everyone 🙂

So, I’ve got this grandmother who lives over in Canada in Sarajevo—she's my mom's side of the family. Lately, she’s been asking about the possibility of moving out here to live with us, since we're looking at making that happen in a few years. The thing is, she already holds American citizenship and has an American passport ready to go.

It shouldn't be a huge hurdle, but there are a couple of things we're trying to wrap our heads around. First off, what’s the deal with her Social Security/pension? How long does that whole process actually take, and is it a total nightmare to navigate? We were browsing online and saw some stuff about how JPMorgan Chase might work alongside local banks—do you think she could just transfer her accounts over and draw her benefits here without any massive headaches?

And just one more thing for now—how would the healthcare situation shake out? Right now, she’s all set up with her coverage in Sarajevo, obviously. Is it possible to get everything transferred over here, and if so, how much of a waiting game are we looking at?

Thanks in advance to everyone! Any help or advice would be seriously appreciated
Student Loans in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
So, I’ve got a bit of a situation—I’m currently a student, and I don't really have a formal employment history or a steady 9-to-5 thing going on. I just do seasonal work for maybe three months at a time, usually wrapping up by the end of October. My big question is: if I wanted to pick up something like an LCD TV from $1000, say by using a payment plan, some kind of installment program, or even just putting it on a credit card to pay it off over a few months... is that actually doable? Would any major US bank actually look at my profile and approve me for that kind of thing?

Or am I just not quite there yet in terms of being "financially eligible"? Thanks in advance!
Anyone still running Windows 7? in Software ·
Alright, I’ve got a few things I need to clear up before I pull the trigger and install Windows 7 on my rig.

2. Is most of my software and gaming stuff actually going to run on it like it did on XP? I know there was a ton of drama and compatibility headaches back in the day with these transitions. My absolute priority is World of Warcraft—if anyone is running 7 right now and can tell me it works without crashing or acting weird, please let me know! =)

4. How’s the internet experience looking? Browsers, speeds, all that good stuff... am I going to see a massive jump in performance, or is it going to feel slower than XP?

5. If I decide to grab 7, which version should I go for—is it the Ultimate edition or something else? Also, I’m totally lost on the whole x32 vs x64 debate. Could someone break down the difference for me? It would be a huge help. Here’s what I’m working with: 2 GB of RAM, an ATI Radeon HD3600 512 graphics card, an Intel core duo 2.5 GHZ processor, and an Asus P5KPL-VM motherboard.

If you guys have any other tips or things I should watch out for, please speak up—but seriously, I really need the help here!

THANKS!
