Emotional Intelligence: A blessing or a curse? in Psychology ·
Look, about that whole EQ thing—just ignore all the haters. You basically described one of my own traits. Don't go overdoing the "forgetting" part while simultaneously overusing things like empathy or crying, you know? Maybe try setting some boundaries and just learning when to say "screw it" instead of getting emotional. Honestly, people with that kind of power can be dangerous; they can pull off huge wins just by saying a few well-placed words. I don't know if this actually helps you, though. I’ve got all this stuff in my head but I'm not great at putting it into words... maybe that's why I don't think about EQ much. Anyway, there's a ton more to say about this.

Prove that what you want them to become is actually a good thing. But you're gonna have to set a seriously high bar yourself. It’s basically like how parents or whoever act around a kid—that child is just gonna end up acting the exact same way

I guess it just shows that certain music doesn't hit everyone the same way. People just listen to whatever they want, I suppose.
PS: If that country band hadn't been so mediocre: back when Zlatan Dukat played at Madison Square Garden, half the crew showed up thinking it was going to be top-tier pop, then suddenly Zlatan Dukat starts playing and everyone just stayed, even if they didn't know a single lyric.

Usually, those tracks either give you an answer or leave you hanging. People use the lyrics—well, by singing them—to vent what's on their mind. Grab a few more drinks, get in a better mood, and I guess it all turns into a weird kind of group therapy. Right?!

Then why isn't country music just as massive? It’s got all that stuff too—love, misery, struggle, joy, etc. I guess people just vibe with country better and whatever, you can't argue with taste.
In my opinion, country is just a passing fad. I feel like people listen to it way less than they did like 2 or 3 years ago. They showed up, and sooner or later, they'll fade out too.👍
