Michelle Ross4 said:Hey everyone!

So, we’re starting to map out our wedding for sometime next spring—probably looking at those classic June or September dates—and we’re expecting about 250 guests. We're based right outside of Miami, and honestly, most of our eyes are on venues in a nearby Suburban town. It seems like finding a spot in Miami that can actually handle a crowd that size is nearly impossible, if I know my facts straight, plus the Suburban town area should be a bit easier on the wallet...

Has anyone dealt with any local venues or handled bookings recently at places like Walmart, Dolis, or Phoenix? I’m looking for the real scoop: what was the experience like, how were the prices, and what was the overall vibe?

Also, regarding the music... we aren't picky, we listen to just about everything, so we'd probably go with a live band. Does anyone have any firsthand experience working with Wine and Ivo?

thanks Reddit!

Regarding Wine and Ivo are you booking just the two of them, or is it the duo plus a guitarist, or maybe the duo plus a guitarist and a singer?

Either way, the party is guaranteed, so hats off to them.

Peter Collins90 said:Listen, even though my dear Mila completely flaked on my wedding dress just 15 days before the big day—she didn't manage to ruin everything for me, though, because I’m officially a married woman now! As for her, there hasn't been a trace or a word from her; she told me to check back a week before the wedding when the new collection arrives, but since I realized exactly how little I could trust her, I headed straight to Victoria's Secret and found a dress in a single day, so at least I didn't walk down the aisle in sweats and sneakers! I'm still waiting for her to call me in for that new collection fitting, but I already got married a week ago... We held the reception at IKEA, where the staff actually delivered on every single promise they made; Matthew and Bryan proved once again what they're capable of and didn't let us down for a second... The guests were tireless, singing everything under the sun—there was something for everyone... Anyway, I'm happy, the guests are happy, and that's what matters most... I don't know how many people pay attention to the details (it was incredibly important to me), like making sure the lighting on the dance floor is dimmed rather than being bright as high noon on the Boardwalk, which makes people uncomfortable while dancing (some photographers insist on bright lights because they lack proper equipment), or ensuring the breaks between courses are short so people don't get sleepy... 🙂 So, that's all from me... Thumbs down for the Mila-Brnaza bridal salon, but a huge thumbs up for IKEA, Matthew, and Bryan!

I'm so glad everything went smoothly for you
Wishing you all the best in your marriage

Does anyone happen to know where I can find the cheapest envelopes around here?

jewelrystores

So, on Monday, I finally pulled the trigger and bought some pieces from Vagrus—a mix of yellow gold with custom engravings—and honestly, I’m absolutely thrilled with how they turned out, especially considering the price was only $1133$
. After picking them up, I decided to do a little reconnaissance and stopped by a few local jewelers just to see what they’d charge for something similar to my set, and wouldn't you know it? Every single one of them quoted me at least $1,500 more than what I paid$833(and yes, I made sure to give them the exact dimensions and weight)
. But if we're talking about the actual experience, I have to mention that the service at the jewelry storewas just atrocious. The woman there—I assume she's the owner—was incredibly rude and unprofessional; she wouldn't even show me all the models available and kept rolling her eyes at me like I was an inconvenience or something
.
Noah Wright3 said:Thanks. All I know is that I wouldn't go near Dugopolje. As for anything else, I haven't the slightest clue. Do you have any idea what's going on with the Friends?

I've never actually been to Friends myself, so I can't really tell you what the vibe is like, but if you're looking for a smaller crowd—say, around a hundred people—then my vote goes straight to Ino.
Noah Wright3 said:Have you ever actually attended one of those feasts? What’s the verdict? How’s the food, and how much does it cost to eat there?

I’ve actually been to both of them.

I mean, really? Is that all we have to work with here?I’ve had the chance to check out both halls, and honestly, the food was incredible. As for the service? Those folks are practically glued to the tables, making sure you never have to lift a finger or wonder where your next drink is coming from. And can we talk about the venue itself? The layout is actually more stunning than anything you'd find at the Palace in San Francisco.

I honestly can't say what the current vibe is like at Dioklecijan’s, but I did make an appearance at one of their dinners once after attending a banquet, and frankly, it was pretty underwhelming; when I was actually at the banquet itself, though, everything was fantastic—it was just that we ended up waiting on the servers for a bit too long, wasn't it?
Noah Wright3 said:Anyone have any intel on the Ino restaurant or the Diocletian site? Looking for any info you can throw my way.

Honestly, Ino blows Diocletian out of the water.

I still haven't nailed down my HAIR, MAKEUP, or my FLORIST.
I really need a hairstylist and a makeup artist who can come out to me (near San Francisco)
And honestly, if the florist could be right nearby too (around the Bay Area), that would be killer.

So, what's the verdict on these:

marija bosancic (mic style) VS ivana anic-Ljubic
lucija spajic VS tina kalinic
cvitak VS ???

Thanks a million for any info, stories, suggestions, or even warnings... ;-)

gentleotter88 said:I was looking into that too. There aren't really any shots of her working on models, just her doing her own thing. If you check out this link I posted from Tina, there are plenty of models featured. From what I've heard, she exclusively uses Dior products and even earned a certification from them—at least, that's what it looks like from the photos.🙂

Does Tina Kalinic seriously believe that her entire beauty routine can be salvaged by nothing less than Dior? Is she truly under the impression that if it isn't high-end luxury, it simply doesn't count as makeup?
Is there anything more predictable than seeing someone try to manufacture a sense of profound outrage over absolutely nothing? It’s almost impressive, isn't it? We see these endless cycles of manufactured drama where people grab at straws just to feel like they have a moral high ground, even when the ground they're standing on is completely imaginary. Does anyone actually believe this level of performative indignation serves any purpose other than feeding an ego? It feels like we've entered an era where being loud and offended is treated as a substitute for having an actual, coherent thought. At what point do we collectively decide that we're tired of the noise?
William Chavez10 said:I guess I'm wondering about the price point and how many usually come in a pack?

Is it just me, or does anyone else feel like their skin is literally being torn apart by these products? Honestly, I can’t even give you an accurate price tag because I’ve bought so much of this stuff over the months that my receipts have likely vanished into some black hole somewhere, but the irritation is very real. 🙂
William Chavez10 said:Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction for finding affordable cookie boxes and dessert plates? Maybe somewhere like Target or Costco? Everything I've been seeing online lately seems way too pricey for my budget.

I actually picked mine up at Target during one of their sales... they didn't have those round dessert plates I was looking for, but I managed to grab the boxes.

Aaron Brown7 said:Well, thanks a ton... we looked into Bolero and a few others, but we heard Sky Restaurant might actually be pretty decent. I don't personally know anyone who’s eaten there, though, so if anyone has some firsthand experience with the place, let me know... it would be great to know if it's worth it.

I haven't been myself, but hopefully someone will chime in if they have.

Are you looking for music or anything else?
Everything you need for a California wedding in Weddings ·
Aaron Brown7 said:Downtown... maybe up to 250 people... and let's cap it at around $45 per head.

Bolero can handle up to 350 people—give them a call at 212-475-1676 or 917-152-7109.

Aaron Brown7 said:We're talking about December here... it's the standard seasonal rush... nothing out of the ordinary.🙂

So, does anyone actually have any specific requests, or are we all just sitting here waiting for someone else to make a move?
Does it absolutely have to be at a place like Chuck E. Cheese? How many people are we talking about here? And honestly, what kind of budget am I looking at?

Aaron Brown7 said:Back again... yeah, it’s me. Apparently, we still haven't cracked the code on this one either. However, I was wondering if anyone here actually knows anything about the Sky restaurant over in downtown Chicago? I’m looking for the lowdown on prices and how much space they actually have—like, what's the capacity look like? I’ve been scouring the internet, but I can't find a single thing that isn't just vague marketing fluff. Thanks...🙂

Your best bet is just to call them at 555-0199 and ask exactly how many guests they can accommodate.

But what exactly are you looking for here?
Since your big day is right around the corner, shouldn't you already know?

Douglas Reyes3 said:I actually didn't realize Vagus was offering discounts either; the guy working at the booth didn't mention anything, and there wasn't any info on the flyer. Mjeda handed out some coupons, but now I can't remember if they're for 10% or 20%, though the Tiffany & Co. ad on the flyer says 20%.
I think I'll head over to them, though. They were incredibly friendly and have such a massive selection, and the person I spoke with mentioned they can work with pretty much any budget. I was looking at some perfect wedding bands $0.73, and I have a 20% discount for those.
Apparently, the discount lasts until the end of the year since they just opened their new business.

gentlewolf69 That price you mentioned definitely isn't for a fog machine; at Rabbit Rock, they told me you could get a full lighting setup, including light shows, lasers, and fog, for about $1333.
Did you happen to ask the band playing if they provide their own gear? Most bands these days come equipped with their own fog machines and bubble machines.

I was kind of hoping there would be more makeup artists there, but it was mostly just Art Deco styles. Their prices are around $67 or $83 if you're going with the synthetic lashes.
However, I did catch the bridal fashion show—the models were styled by Ana Grigio, and I really loved the look.

Ana Grgić does incredible makeup; she's available on Faceual, so you better book her while you still can!

That sounds great—let me know if you end up with any leftover flyers for the religious items, because I might actually swing by Tiffany & Co. to take a look. Though, honestly, who knows if they even bother offering discounts at these kinds of Fairs?🤷

If you happen to mention Vagus, they’ll probably throw a discount your way.

feralsurfer3 said:Come on ladies, let’s hear it! How was the wedding fair? I totally missed out and couldn't make it...

Honestly, it was nothing special.

Most of the exhibitors were exactly the same ones we saw last year.

I really wasn't a fan of how pushy some of them were—I mean, they were practically badgering couples into signing up for their services right then and there...
Wouldn't it have been much more effective if they had actually showcased their work instead of just trying to sell it?
Some people didn't even seem to know what they were supposed to be displaying at their own booth.
For instance, I asked a woman from Bobis if it was possible to do a multi-tiered wedding cake where every single layer has a completely different flavor and sponge type, and she looks me dead in the eye and says, "No, it all goes on crunchy praline, you get praline inside and marzipan on the outside, plus whatever decorations you want." I couldn't help but laugh and just walk away—I mean, obviously, you can totally do that, but her lack of knowledge was just too much.

I just heard about this, and a friend of mine is actually getting married there in October, so I'm dying to check it out.
