For the past few weeks, I’ve been trekking all over town trying to find some sneakers, a jacket, and jeans, and honestly, it’s been enough to give me a nervous breakdown. The selection here is an absolute disaster—just terrible. I strictly stick to a sporty style, and nothing being offered in this city fits my vibe at all. Personally, the jeans situation is a total catastrophe; they’re either distressed, flared, or covered in random floral patterns. Like, seriously, what the hell? 😕 After six hours of walking around, I realized that most women in this city are basically clones—everyone is wearing the exact same sneaker models and jackets. 😁 😁 😁 So, I’ve decided that this Saturday, I’m heading over to Europe to do my shopping, because I couldn't find a single pair of shoes here that I actually liked. Everything in the stores is just so tacky and outdated (that specific shoe style is definitely not my thing 🙂).
Anyway, listen, ruggedfalcon2, you can forget about finding anything decent here. If you want to find some actual, normal jeans, you're better off looking elsewhere. 😁 😁
So, I’m back with my latest test results. My urine amylase came back at 493 U/l, but here’s the kicker... they’ve changed the reference range on the report. It’s now listed as 23-400 U/l instead of the old 23-91 range I was used to. This means when my first result was 295 U/l, it actually fell within the "normal" window back then... Honestly, I don't even know how to process this. Best,
Thanks for the advice, everyone, Just for context, I don't really drink except for the occasional night out with friends every few months... and I don't smoke either. My urine amylase levels were 259 U/l on 10/13/2005 and 439 U/l on 10/31/2005. I just submitted another sample today and should get the results around 1:00 PM. If the numbers are spiking again, I'm heading straight to a private clinic to get checked out. Looking back at some old labs from six years ago, my urine amylase was 214 U/l. Back then, that was considered totally normal because the reference range went up to 240 U/l (23-240 U/l), but now the standard range has tightened significantly to 23-91 U/l. I'm 30 years old. Best,
I haven't received anything in my inbox yet; I'm still totally flying blind here. I've tried searching through directories, but it's impossible to find a psychiatrist who specializes in specific areas. There’s zero info on their specializations, and I even went to a private practitioner who claimed he could treat me, but he didn't even seem to know what OCD actually was.
Beyond my own heart and all the love I hold dear, there’s a deeper devotion—a love for this country of mine... just like those classic folk songs sing about bitter grass and old, stinging wounds... people, we need less smoke and more fresh air, less talk and more action.
The New York Times just released a new book through their medical publishing division. Does anyone have any insight on this? I’m a firm believer that low-impact activities like swimming really help... or even just revisiting some old-school tunes. Maybe some Chubby Checker or another classic legend to get you moving.
Hey Reddit, Can anyone shed some light on elevated urinary amylase levels? I’m currently stuck on a month-long waiting list to see an internist. Basically, my urine test shows amylase levels that are 3 to 4 times higher than the upper limit. My bloodwork looks totally fine—serum amylase is normal, bilirubin is fine, and my ALT and AST levels are all within range. Everything else in both my blood and urine tests came back perfectly normal too. My primary care physician is starting to suspect it might be pancreatitis. I have been feeling some weird, minor abdominal pains lately. Thanks!

Does anyone know of an effective remedy?
Ugh, I was going through the exact same thing recently, and my lips were actually bleeding. 🙄 I just applied some balm I picked up at CVS for a week and it cleared up pretty fast. 😁
