I wouldn't say that. Even Christian traditions have their own versions of meditation. 😉
To me, meditation is really just about focus—centering yourself on something (or even nothing at all) with the goal of reaching a specific state of being. That’s my take on it, anyway.
Does anyone know where I can find some decent resources on utilitarianism? I’ve been scouring the web, but honestly... everything I find is pretty hit-or-miss.😢( ugh
I’m hoping to get some insight from a medical professional here because my doctors seem to be on different pages, and I’d love to hear what others think. So, here’s my current regimen: I take Lamictal twice a day (morning and night), one dose of xanax in the morning, and then Zyprexa combined with Aketon in the evening. My neurologist recently recommended I start taking Urutal twice a day to help with some dizziness. She assured me it won't interfere with my other meds, and she suggested I double-check with my psychiatrist just in case. When I spoke to my psychiatrist, she also said there wouldn't be an issue. However, since Urutal affects the nervous system—just like the other medications I mentioned—I’m feeling pretty anxious about the possibility of a drug interaction. Is it actually safe for me to add this to my routine? Thanks in advance for any help! 😉
Simone said:Absolutely. We're talking about a different kind of collective unconscious here. That’s actually why Jung wasn't really a fan of Eastern yoga; instead, he suggested techniques that felt more aligned with Christian traditions. If Christians haven't come up with anything better yet, well, that's on them, not Jung.
Could you expand on that or maybe drop a link regarding the type of yoga that fits better with Christianity?
Besides, deep, focused prayer is essentially just another form of meditation.🙂
Westerners—basically everyone living in Europe and North America would probably find a traditional Christian prayer much more relatable than, say, Eastern meditation or yoga. That’s my take on it, anyway. (Or at least, that's how I'm reading the situation. 🙂 )
Skip the booze while you're on antibiotics. If you drink, the medication won't be able to do its job properly. I actually took some for an E. coli infection once, though it didn't really make much of a difference for me—but that's a whole different story. Take care!
I heard there might be some footage out there of Bruce Springsteen... I actually managed to catch a clip—really grainy quality—of The Doors from either '88 or '89 (I can't quite remember which...). It’s not anything like Bottoms Up, but it was honestly such a cool thing to see. All I know is it was filmed at some smaller venue in a half-empty hall... Wait, wasn't a snippet from that Bruce Springsteen footage used in Smogovac? If you ask me, that's proof enough that a recording of one of those seven concerts definitely exists...
If we actually want to hit our goals, we have to be present. We need that level of focus.
Honestly, I feel like the more aware we are of ourselves and everything happening around us, the more fully we’re actually living. Though, let's be real—staying that mindful all the time is incredibly tough...
