Fair enough. They were old farts back in the seventies, but those first three albums? Absolute perfection. In my book, Nice'N'Sleazy belongs on the list of all-time greats.

Forgive me for jumping in out of nowhere like this, but I’m feeling a little desperate. I urgently need some info—is there a band around here that plays Spanish music? Ideally something with flamenco vibes, castanets, and all those beautiful sounds.

PS This is actually pretty urgent!!!

It’s not like every single track comes from the same era or carries the exact same mood, but man, they are all absolute bangers...
I wouldn't trade a single ounce of The Police for five pounds of some U2 clone or anything else in that vein...

Anyway, anyone else actually spinning this stuff? 😎

Casey Palmer5, where on earth are you getting those daily disposables? What’s the damage per month? Are you really going through 30 pairs every single month????? I haven't heard a soul mention those... at least not around here... I know people who use the weekly ones, but switching to dailies??

Could you please give me the lowdown on this? Thanks!

We ended up bickering over the whole "weak" vs. "strong" atheist distinction. Apparently, the latter group thinks they’re the "real" atheists because they actively deny the existence of a deity. I actually think it's the exact opposite. Those folks are just dogmatists who place way too much emphasis on "God." I mean, you can't truly deny something unless you actually understand what it is first.

👍

That’s why (for me) atheism is always something specific: it's the rejection of one particular concept of a deity.

🙂, so if that's how you feel, tell 😉

I know all those "Christian" stories about God are nonsense.

The myths about a demiurge... BUT, it depends on which ones you mean. There is a massive difference between mainstream Christian religion/dogma and actual Christian mysticism. It's only the latter that I find any truth in.

Man, my junk is driving me absolutely insane.
I’m losing my mind here. About two or three weeks ago, I went to this party that spiraled out of control into full-on group sex, and ever since then, things have been itching like crazy.
At first, I figured it was just some mild jock itch, so I tried using that standard antifungal shampoo from CVS, but clearly that didn't do the trick because the itching hasn't let up one bit.

I'm about to snap, but I can't exactly walk into a clinic for help because I live in a tiny rural town where everyone knows everyone else's business.

How do I fix this???? Please, someone help!

hollowviper72 said:No, I’m not saying God is inherently bad. It’s just that the term feels limiting. And yeah, I know—sometimes I get way too caught up in semantics.
The thing is, I don't personally attribute any personality traits to the divine. Since the word "God" implies a persona, it just doesn't sit right with me, you know? 😛

Not really.
By using that word, you're basically building your own set of definitions and boundaries right from the start.

But hey, like I said, everyone sees things through their own lens...

for you; God = a demiurge
for me; God = God

😉

It’s probably the last thing you want to hear, but honestly? The problem is you. You’re pouring your heart out to all the wrong people and getting absolutely nothing back.

Here’s the fix: start giving to those who actually value it. Or, if you can manage it, try retraining the ones already in your life. I’ve been working on this every single day, and I'm definitely seeing progress...🙂

Trust me. I’ve been through it.

It sounded totally ridiculous at first—the idea that we should basically be teaching people how to treat us—but I finally realized there's so much truth to it. So, I decided to take matters into my own hands and start some "re-education." 😁 😁

Now, if someone flakes on a promise or shows up late to grab coffee, I set them straight immediately so they know exactly what's expected. It’s pretty simple: two strikes, and you’re out. I’m done playing games. If I’m not a priority to you, you’re certainly not one to me.

It is wild how many parasites I’ve managed to weed out of my life, and just how many genuine, decent people I’ve actually met because of it. I feel so much better. !!!!!!👍

Personally, I don't get why people keep using the term "God" if they already have a concept like Apple to work with.

It's pretty simple. Not everyone was born out in the East.

And honestly, I don't see anything wrong with the word God. If people are foolish enough to use a demiurge as their version of God just to chase some trivial goals, you can't blame God for that.

Or maybe it’s just those folks who insist on linking God and the demiurge together... if that's the case, there's nothing I can do for them. 😛

Spirituality and mysticism—that's the whole point here, not some shallow, surface-level religion. 😉

I get what you're saying, but don't blame me if people end up dragging God's name through the mud

Like I said before, I could stick to my own terms and my own way of speaking, but then nobody would have a clue what I'm talking about.

Honestly, I think the real issue here is language—and how we define things.

When I talk about God, I’m referring to something far beyond this world—the Tao, the Final Existence. I'm not talking about those petty little human demigods you guys obsess over, the ones people have fought endless wars over.
1) Scarface with Al Pacino as Tony Montana😎

2) The first two movies are great, but the third one totally sucks

3) Deep Throat—that Linda Lovelace film is an absolute classic🙂

4) Raging Bull—De Niro was absolutely incredible in that one

5) Unforgiven by Clint Eastwood

There are plenty of other amazing flicks out there, but Scarface will always be my favorite😎

Thanks for the suggestions! I’m going to try out those creams first. If they don't do the trick, I'll reach out to another doctor or dermatologist to get a second opinion.

Glasses or contacts? in Health ·
The biggest downside to soft contact lenses, especially those cheap disposables, is how easily they pick up infections and bacteria. They’re honestly a nightmare to keep truly clean.

Laura Green8...you really need to switch to semi-hard lenses. All that disposable crap is basically designed to be low quality. Don't gamble with your vision. You have no idea how quickly you could end up losing your sight. If you have to, just stick to glasses... seriously, don't mess around with this!
Glasses or contacts? in Health ·
Contact lenses, honey, contact lenses!!!!!

No wiping them constantly, no fogging up the second you step into a heated room, and none of that annoying discomfort.

Lenses aren't nearly as pricey as they used to be, and I’d honestly suggest going with the semi-rigid ones—the soft ones can feel way too sensitive sometimes. Plus, you don't have to swap them out nearly as often.

For years, I actually wore hard lenses, and they were absolutely fantastic; zero issues whatsoever. I remember talking to my eye doctor once, and he straight-up told me most of this is just marketing. He said people used to wear hard lenses for years without a single complaint, but now everyone is all about "soft this" and "gentle that"... it's all just a way to get you to spend more money.

And one more thing—don't let anyone convince you that having an astigmatism means you can't wear contacts. I have severe astigmatism and a +4.00 prescription, and I wear lenses just fine! Honestly, I handle them better than all those whiners who complain about everything.

You don't *need* glasses, but it's smart to have a pair on hand. You know, just in case you lose a lens, catch an eye infection, or something else happens. It's just a backup plan... and since you won't be wearing them all the time, they don't need to be super expensive... so it's really not much of an investment.

The cleaning solutions might seem like a bit of an upfront cost, but considering you keep them for three months at a time................CONTACT LENSES CONTACT LENSES CONTACT LENSES CONTACT LENSES CONTACT LENSES CONTACT LENSES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!

By the way, I’ve been wearing them for ages. I was actually patient number two at the very first optometry clinic in the country that specialized in contacts. I think that gives me some serious street cred. 🙂

swiftcobra15 said:1. Personally, I don't view theists as rational beings. No matter how you try to picture God, it’s just one massive self-deception. Even the fact that we use masculine pronouns points to how much of a lie it all is. Every theology is essentially a giant fabrication.

2. That doesn't mean we can't discuss divinity, but we shouldn't do it through the lens of dogma (which is exactly what points 1 and 3 are!). Instead, we should speak from personal experience—which is inherently private—or through a logical contemplation of the Whole.

3. I see zero reason to tether spirituality to the concept of "God." In any case, it's pretty unfair to non-theists (like Buddhists or Taoists), especially in our neck of the woods where everyone just assumes we're talking about the "Christian" God.🙂

Hey, Atlantic Ocean, I think you missed my point entirely. 😉

Let me try to rephrase.

Whether you call it God, goddess, space, Eris, ##**, or Tao, whatever YOU want to call it... it exists.

Different people perceive This in different ways, and they express that through their mindset and how they live their lives.

I am NOT talking about standard old-school theism or atheism here, and I'm certainly not crazy enough to think ##** is some male entity. 🙄

Your points 2 and 3 actually capture exactly what I was trying to get at. 😉 🙂

Et jardin, how's it going?

Largo said:Solaris! You're talking about people who claim to reject dogma, yet they just end up falling right back into it. Of course, that happens when you have blind faith in the very doctrines you're discussing without actually questioning the real-world results.
Exactly! That’s my point—people think they're becoming "spiritual," but they're really just swapping one mask for another. That's where it all goes wrong.

You mentioned people rejecting "their religion," but which religion are we even talking about here?
It’s basically this: take a few specific cases... essentially, Person A grows up in Religion X. It serves them okay for a while, even if they don't fully grasp it (the traditionalist type). Then, they see the outward style of Religion Y and decide to switch, but they only adopt the superficial aesthetics. The end result? It's the exact same powder, just under a different 😉 name.
You surely don't think everyone in America is forced to be Catholic or Christian just because they were born here, without any right to choose or question things, do you? 😲 Of course not! In fact, I fight against blind dogmatism and being forced into boxes. Meta once even branded me a Satanist 🙄 😁
I hope you don't mean that, because I follow your posts and I'd be genuinely shocked to hear such a stance from you. I agree with you that people often use "freedom" as an excuse for total nonsense, but we still have to be careful not to generalize. We shouldn't dismiss those who, despite being different from us, are sincere seekers and, most importantly, people building values that actually benefit society.

Look, I think I already said it's perfectly fine if people are looking for spirituality, God, atoms, or whatever else resonates with them. 🙂

Joseph Davis5 said:What exactly do people mean when they say they're 'limiting their perspective'?

Take this, for example: people claim to be "free thinkers"—and hey, I’m sure that’s how they see themselves—but then they turn around and tell everyone else to stay away from faith because it’s supposedly "restrictive." They basically equate spirituality with rigid dogma.
They end up limiting their own capacity for belief by reducing everything down to just a set of rules.
Instead of actually digging into the roots of their traditions, they just brush them off after a superficial glance. Then, they just swap one religion for another, treating the new one with the same shallow understanding. Honestly, they don't even know what they're looking for; they're just using "philosophical freedom" as an excuse to wander aimlessly.
