Is Michael Bay actually a bad director? in Movies ·
Richard Howard2 said:Finally, someone shows up to this debate who actually gets what BIT is all about. slyrider16, you legend.

If I can be blunt, looking for a "deep message" or a "moral" in movies to judge them is incredibly shallow. The film industry has evolved way past that, and things are much more complex now.

In my opinion, the directors and writers behind those massive blockbusters are actually bigger geniuses than the ones making "masterpieces." You could find ten million people in L.A. capable of making a masterpiece, but being able to pull in over $200 million per film—especially when the movie itself is often total trash—that takes real genius. We're talking guys like Bay, Spielberg, Lucas, and especially Cameron, who I honestly think is the ultimate mastermind when it comes to balancing profit with mass appeal.

Man, Richard Howard2, you're really talking out of turn here... 🙄 🙄

You’re totally trivializing what a "masterpiece" even means... if they were that easy to make, they wouldn't be masterpieces anymore. On the flip side, making a blockbuster that clears $200 million is the easiest thing in the world... just hire a few big names (like Julia Roberts or George Clooney) at $20 million a pop, dump a few million into marketing, and boom—you've got a blockbuster. 🙄

When you talk about pure profit, a true genius would be someone who builds something out of nothing... like how they did with The Blair Witch Project or My Big Fat Greek Wedding...

To me, the biggest piece of garbage is that Titanic movie by your precious Cameron... 🙂

And Pearl Harbor is such a sappy, pathetic propaganda flick it actually makes me want to cry. 🙂

And how exactly is Bay a genius if he had a budget of over $100 million for that movie? 😕

But back when I was going through that "purple phase," I actually felt like I was Jesus, and let me tell you, it wasn't a vibe. While I was staying at the psych ward, there were all these people hovering over my bed holding religious icons or stuff, and it drove me absolutely crazy. There wasn't even a specific reason; I just felt this intense, irrational fear of them. 😢

Fair point 🙂. Honestly, if I ever bowed down to religion, I’d be even further gone into the *****. But hey, John Doe, what do you think about the idea that someone might just snap because society is such a mess? It feels like it’s impossible to deal with all this nonsense without noticing it, right? Dealing with that kind of heavy stuff can break a person. Everyone except Batman. He’d probably just start quoting the Bible backwards. 😁.
solaris...you're just pure evil 😢 😉.

Rea, I honestly think you deserve a rough ride. Like, riding a bike straight into hell.
If I were in your shoes, I’d honestly rather just slit my wrists😛 😛

Hormonal Contraception: The Pill [General Discussion] in Women's Health ·
I’m just another person who spent six whole years on Diane-35. Apparently, it was for PCOS, which was diagnosed solely through a basic ultrasound—never any blood work, let alone actually knowing my hormone levels. And those "experts" we call doctors, who get paid specifically to know this stuff, are out there striking too. While I was on them, my skin was almost flawless, but this past year has been brutal with constant headaches, and I haven't even seen my period in months. Don't even get me started on my mood; sometimes at 25, I feel like I’m stuck right in the middle of puberty again. Even though I feel physically much better now than when I was on that "therapy," I look way worse (freckles, obviously). I’m currently prepping to see a really good specialist who will actually give me a thorough exam and finally fix this once and for all. Honestly, besides a gynecologist, I’m going to need a top-tier dermatologist too—the costs are already piling up.
So, my experience with these pills has been incredibly negative. Even so, deep down, I have a feeling they might prescribe them to me again. If it’s the only way to get my cycle back and if it's absolutely necessary, I guess I'll have to. It’s really just a matter of weighing whether the benefits outweigh the damage. Personally, I’m against taking any kind of external hormones, but I realize some people truly need them.
Thomas Mendoza5 said:Unfortunately, a lot of us are stuck in that exact same loop...

And what you said about honesty? You hit the nail on the head. The problem is that even the top psychiatrists often lean too heavily on the "textbook" approach. They end up treating a patient like a clinical case study instead of actually trying to connect with them—trying to understand how their mind truly works and how they perceive the world...

I’m actually heading to see a shrink soon myself, but I’m not holding my breath. Honestly, I expect him to just try to medicate me away. As for his endless small talk and theories? I doubt there's any real value there, other than raising my blood pressure with those stereotypical questions...

If that's your mindset—if you're putting all your faith in some psychiatrist—then it's no wonder you won't get better. YOU are the one who has to heal yourself!

And don't even get me started on the pills. They do more harm than good; they'll just wear you down until you crash even HARDER!
Thomas Mendoza5 said:It helps someone stay a walking corpse.

John Doe.... honestly, it really bugs me when I see people posting stuff like that...me too, it's irritating, something about it just rubs me the wrong way

Do you seriously think you can just wave a magic wand and someone's entire life will suddenly transform???

Take someone struggling with, say, schizophrenia—their mental issues aren't even the half of it. They have plenty of tangible, physical struggles... things that might have pushed them toward a breakdown faster, or things that happened specifically because they were already breaking down...

If a chemical substance can help a person cope with that reality even just a little bit easier, then that actually matters a huge amount... sometimes a partial solution feels like paradise compared to the hell of their actual reality...

Better to be a walking corpse than a dead one... or at least, being a walking corpse gives a person the choice to die on their own terms, instead of having their illness drive them to an early grave.I disagree, anything is better than a walking corpse... plus, your logic is flawed right there.

Sure, alternative methods might help balance a person out, but if they're being attacked from all sides by psychological and physical problems at once, those methods won't do much good... it's just one step forward and two steps back.

Even something as simple as going for a run by a river can be an impossible task for some people... there are problems you can't just "fix" easily; sometimes you need the help of what people call "chemical illusions."
So why would psychotropic drugs be any better or more effective than "alternative" treatments????!!!!!!

The idea that you can force things into balance—that a pill can stabilize brain chemistry just so a person can finally crawl out of their shell and try to move forward...God, what utter NONSENSE, I'd take the greatest hits immediately.
Hey Jason Johnson4, since I really dig your writing style, I’ve been wondering—where are you getting all this info? Is this based on personal experience, or do you have some go-to books or literature you recommend? I’d love to at least get a solid foundation in this stuff, if not become an expert.

John Doe, are you religious? I’m asking purely from a practical standpoint, because I feel like faith can provide a sense of direction that might keep someone from hitting another total mental breakdown—if that’s even the right way to describe that feeling.

Rea, listen, there’s this whole idea about a genetic predisposition to schizophrenia, and honestly, that’s where the argument ends. Schizophrenia isn't hardcoded in your DNA, nor is it caused by some random virus. It’s a purely psychosomatic condition. Because of that, it should be treated exactly like any other psychosomatic illness. Ugh, there—that’s a slightly better way of putting my thought into words.

The premise of our Thread is straightforward. There’s no rigid dogma here, no set rituals, and certainly no human gurus breathing down your neck. We don't charge a dime, and we aren't looking for handouts.

We’ve gathered in this corner of the universe to exchange what we know and to contribute our own threads to this massive, interconnected web of wisdom. Every one of us has found our own unique place within it.

We welcome you to wander through this tapestry alongside us... and to stir that ancient knowledge sleeping deep inside your soul.

wizard said:Hey everyone,

The witch online topic has been around for over two years now, and for that entire time, Snake and I have been the ones steering the ship. But as new faces joined the mix and the volume of posts exploded during the fourth and fifth editions, the thread and its whole vibe started evolving alongside the members, heading off on its own unique path.

Once I realized that this specific discussion—its very soul—didn't quite align with my personal journey anymore, I made a choice. I didn't want to start micromanaging or molding people just to try and manufacture little clones of "Wizard" to suit my own style. That goes against everything I believe in.

My path belongs to me and my personality alone. Every single person is an entire universe unto themselves; they need to find their own way.

At a certain point, it was simply best to let this thread break free from my influence, allow it to leave its own mark, and let it grow naturally in whatever direction the members take it.

And so, the wizard has finally found his freedom. 🙂

Questions, heavy ones, almost a cry for help...

I reach for the wizard book from the crags
where life’s magic, at a tavern table,
pours itself into verse...

I open Tinova's "mystery"...

***

Amidst the roar of the crowd and the narrow streets,
I lend my ear to the secret voices
that bring me endless solace,
echoing back wild, poetic cries.

I watch as my raging thoughts
flow into bitter, living tears,
and I dread the hour when terrible mysteries
will crush the night in a dark mass.

- Who am I and what am I, what will I become, whom do I love,
what do I seek, where am I going, for what do I wander? -
In vain do I beg the heavens for an answer,

terrified of myself, I swallow my tears;
the mystery of things and of life overwhelms me,
I know nothing, least of all myself.

Even though it hurts to see Wizard and Snake moving on, the only right thing to do is let them go, set them free... without asking why or for what reason.

A free spirit can only breathe deeply in freedom and movement 🙂 🙂 , and everyone has the right to their own personal flight, whenever, wherever, and however they choose.

I want to thank both Wizard and Snake for all the fragments of Light and Wisdom they’ve shared with us. 🙂
(On a personal level, they helped me more than they probably even realize.)

THANK YOU

The wizard said:At some point, it actually felt best to just let this topic breathe. We should let our own shadows and personal imprints take over, allowing the conversation to evolve naturally in whatever direction the members decide to take it.

Solaris stepped in and took over after showing interest in the project.

Solaris, you’ve got full freedom to run this Thread now, but just remember—that comes with a certain level of responsibility. You're pretty much tied to it now. This Thread is starting to become a true reflection of who you are...

😲 😳 Look, maybe I didn't express myself quite right. I wasn't trying to push my way into anything, and honestly, I think there are plenty of people here who would be much better at running this Thread—they clearly have more knowledge and a more creative way with words. But, it is what it is. Fine, I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.

Asking why things are the way they are, or obsessing over what to do about them, actually clashes with the Creative. When we scramble to find absolute answers or hunt for that sense of certainty that knowledge supposedly provides, we're essentially showing a lack of faith. We're acting like we don't trust the Creative to guide us or to untangle the ambiguity of a situation right when it matters most.

Is this post a reflection of me? Honestly, yeah, but only partially. This Thread is going to be a mirror for everyone who ever posts here—everyone who decides to pour their soul into these words. After all, a rainbow isn't just one single color.

And one more thing that’s absolutely crucial: Solaris.

So, you're asking if Snake or the wizard should hand over a full year's calendar to you... Hmm. Why exactly? The dates for Witch Sabbathi and Esbath aren't some top-secret formulas or dark sorcery hidden away in hard-to-find holy books.
On the contrary, we're just talking about natural cycles that everyone is already familiar with. Solaris, I actually wrote a deep dive into this in the last issue of Witch Online. By doing a little bit of soul-searching, cross-referencing the standard American calendar, and using Google to check the exact timing for this year's equinoxes and solstices here in the States, anyone can put together their own pagan calendar. A witch's calendar.

And honestly, everyone should just make their own.

😲 😳 😁 I feel like I’m back in grade school! Why did I even ask about the calendar? Maybe it was just a lame excuse because I wanted to pull you and Snake back into this conversation. Honestly, either I haven't fully grasped my own responsibility yet, or the whole thing is actually scaring me a little. The only way to shake that feeling, obviously, is to become the calendar myself. 😉

And you actually did it! You stepped up and took charge of this thread entirely on your own terms, driven by your own will rather than being forced into it.

It looks like I’m going to have to spend some more time digging into my subconscious and figuring out what's actually driving me. 😁

briskrider8, look, you have all the freedom in the world to go mushroom hunting or obsess over cacti if that’s what you want to do. But I’ve never seen a track star smash their first personal records because they were riding around on a Yamaha 500.
I honestly think that under our influence, briskrider8 will choose freedom over doping.

Witch online is moving forward. Of course.

Snake and I are circling back to the basics. We’re returning to those simple, elemental foundations—things that might seem uninspiring or even mundane at first glance, but they are exactly where we find ourselves and truly forge our core essence.
Maybe it's around here somewhere, nearby.
I really hope you guys stick around and don't just vanish on us. There’s something so raw and fundamental about these topics that keeps them interesting, and I honestly feel like the two of you still have so much more to share. That said, if you decide it's time to move on to new things, that's totally fine too. I truly wish you nothing but the best on whatever path you choose. 🙂

that really depends on which pills we're talking about 🙂. Keith Wright78, do you do any sports? Or better yet, do you go hiking?
What’s the one thing about your physical appearance you absolutely can’t stand?
I feel like Steven Ruiz might have misspoken there. I mean, how can something be "slick" and "good" at the same time? Those two don't really go together in my book. Honestly, I think "overproduced" is a much better way to describe what we're talking about. For example, I think Madonna's Ray of Light is just pure perfection.
Whoa, calm down there, kid. You are absolutely full of hate. 🙄

Maybe even Panjabi MC would have played that. She’s actually pretty cute.
