ugh, it's 😠 just hiding inside some stupid The Karate Kid movie pretending to kick ass... but they're literally just movie extras... 🙂

Now I'm getting serious... you better run

It would be such a game-changer if phobias were easy to just fix and move on from.

But speaking from experience, that’s rarely how it works. More often than not, you just end up trading one fear for another, or something else entirely takes its place.

The road from darkness to light is a long one. But it's a path you can definitely walk.
driftingowl27 said:I basically grew up in the local AMC theater watching nothing but kung-fu flicks... and please, let's not start a massive, never-ending debate about Bruce Lee right here. 🙂

P.S. I actually caught three moderators chatting in the lounge—just giving the rest of you guys a little heads-up... 😁

P.P.S. Chuck Norris gave his best performance playing alongside Bruce Lee in "Enter the Dragon" (granted, he didn't have a ton of screen time, but that’s exactly why it stands out as his best role😁 )

Ma Miki, you know I'm a huge fan of Bruce and those classic Hong Kong productions too! 🙂))

That's where Chuck played the villain... man, that guy was great in Enter the Dragon 🙂))

What about Mortal Kombat, Steven Ruiz? 😉
Steven Ruiz, what are you watching lately?

I just finished the new Allen movie... I mean, Woody is still Woody, but you can definitely tell the guy is getting older... 😢

I was never really into that featherweight Macchio guy; I was always more obsessed with American Ninja 😁 I think his name was Michael Dudikoff or something...

Mickey, I bet you were totally into Chin O'Brian 😉 😁 or maybe even Chuck Norris 😉

My favorite part has to be when that big guy (Preston) rushes into the restroom and basically loses his soul, only to walk out of the WCA looking like a tiny little dwarf. If you're looking for more chaos, you can find clips online where Steve-O does the wildest stuff imaginable (like that bit where he mashes eggs into his feet)

There is absolutely no way you're pulling that off! 😛

It's Madonna, you've got nothing on her 😉

If you ever make it out to New York City, I'll take you to Applebee's 😉

Ugh, I can't even remember the name... let me check... oh, wait, I have some of their tracks on an album where those three guys (three 😁 vocalists) perform together... Santana, Tricky, and some other dude... they absolutely kill it...

But if you’re really digging that rhythmic vibe, the best record out there is by Mick Jagger... and honestly, Mick Jagger is the name of this super high-end lounge and restaurant in New York City... it's the kind of spot where Madonna and her crew (and yours truly 😁) hang out, and they exclusively play Arabic and world music. Sometimes they'll even throw in a little bit of Springsteen 😁

Have you ever listened to Natasha Atlas?

Emir Abdelkader by Santana absolutely kills it, and I’m obsessed with his version too 🙂))

I’ve never really been a huge fan of his music. It feels like stuff made for people who just want background noise—you know, music for the masses, or for folks living in total isolation out in the middle of nowhere...

Even Englishmen get hyped for Springsteen 😁

I actually went to one of his shows once (he plays in New York City twice a year 🙄)... It was Springsteen and his Wedding&funeral band... I think that's what they call them 🙄

Honestly, I'd rather blast some Santana while I'm out hitting golf balls or cutting through some turf 😁

But man, nobody beats The Dave Brubeck Quartet or whatever their name is 🙂))

Thomas Mendoza5 said:When you talk about the cause of fear, do you mean the thing people are actually afraid of?

No, you have to confront the root cause of the phobia—the specific event that triggered it—rather than just staring down the object itself...

And honestly, sometimes the fear can be so overwhelming, or the phobia so intense, that trying to face it head-on too quickly can lead to a total mental breakdown...

There’s no physical pain someone else can inflict that compares to the agony our own minds can project, even when there isn't a single physical cause for it. It's the same with fear; nobody can force a level of terror on you quite like your own mind can...

If you don't approach this carefully, the sheer amount of fear a person endures could trigger a psychological shock that the mind simply isn't equipped to handle.

🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 Well said, and spot on.

Timothy Cox2, that whole thing about the red car is just a myth... you can't even see the car... someone just cooked up that story and everyone fell for it... I've watched that movie 16 times... all you see are tire tracks 😁

😉And Pierce isn't a Briton, he's actually Iraqi

If you really sat down and looked at the global statistics regarding various illnesses, mental health disorders, and just general oddities, how many people would actually be left standing as "normal" and healthy by clinical standards? 😛

Delfino, let's just go in circles again if we have to...🙄 🙄

But what does "natural" even mean here?

Think about it—say someone has hemophilia. Sure, it’s not ideal and it causes issues. But can you really label that person as "abnormal" just because of that, even if they are perfectly "normal" in every other way?

Or take healthy people who, say, were born with an extra finger. That’s not exactly how nature intended things to look, right? So, does that make them "abnormal" too? 😉 😁 🙄
