Not too bad, actually.
A few more details for you guys:
http://www.mcfc.co.uk/Video/Uncategorized/Kit-teaserhttp://www.mcfc.co.uk/Video/Shop/Badge-stitchingThe blue kits drop in two weeks, the black ones in six, and the white ones in about three months.
Short-sleeve jerseys are priced at $40 ($36 if you have a season ticket—so if anyone wants to grab one, hit me up and I'll send you my number so we can get that discount). Fans have already received an apology regarding the price hike compared to last year's LCS gear, with the explanation being that they're using premium materials and the manufacturing process is way more complex. These kits will apparently only be available in official Manchester City and Adidas stores because production is limited due to how difficult they are to make.
By the way, Adidas makes both the English national team and Manchester City kits under their 'tailored in England' line. From what I gather, these two specific jerseys feature a dual-layer design—polyester on the inside and cotton on the outside. Instead of the usual S, M, L sizing, they’re using chest measurements (like 38, 40, 42, etc., which is common in the UK), so the fit should be much better. Also, the badges are fully embroidered directly onto the jersey rather than being separate patches sewn on later. There are some other tailoring tricks involved too, which I think are detailed over at adidas.com
@rapidstag2 - I'm honestly stoked that Adidas is back with City. Adidas was actually founded by two brothers in Manchester back in the 1920s, and they eventually started sponsoring City because they were die-hard fans themselves. One of them even ended up serving as a director for the club. That's why Manchester City and Adidas decided to celebrate this partnership.
About a month ago, around 30 selected City supporters (mostly big names like the founders of the club's websites, fan group reps, Noel Gallagher types, etc.) were invited by the City directors to a local pub where Adidas showcased the new kits and explained the design philosophy. It was all good food, drinks, and live music.
There’s also going to be a concert (Doves, DJ Pickering, plus two or three more acts) near the stadium for about 5,000 people. Tickets are free (you actually get two tickets if you pre-order your jersey before the general public release).
p.s. Carl Mendoza4, you've single-handedly doubled the quality of this forum just by starting to post again.
