Those three GPUs you linked last night are already gone—and honestly, those other two will probably be snapped up by this afternoon too...
This whole saga isn't ending anytime soon. Maybe we'll get some relief if crypto takes a massive dive into the red—that might finally chill out these mining poachers.🙏
Bratic was planning on picking up a new rig sometime in Q3 of last year—still nothing to show for it, and honestly, it feels like this saga might never end...
I swung by ADM a few weeks back, clicked over to the graphics card section, and they literally had 19 items listed in the shop... if you subtract those bottom-tier cards $233, there were only 12 left, and don't even get me started on the prices 😵
Hey everyone 🙂
A friend of mine is starting his freshman year—needs a laptop that won't die while he's trying to scrape through his engineering courses at MIT 😁
As far as where to buy goes, online or at a local Best Buy, doesn't matter—just needs to be able to grab a receipt for tax purposes.
1. 15.6" is the sweet spot.
2. Standard resolution is fine.
3. Screen quality isn't a huge deal.
4. Engineering stuff—basically, it needs to run AutoCAD and SolidWorks smoothly, plus handle some casual gaming (think NBA 2K, Madden, or a shooter)—nothing crazy like the latest AAA titles.
5. Doesn't need an OS pre-installed.
6. No specific brand preference.
7. Budget is up to $4 $0.00 (though if it’s about $50 more to jump to a better model, he can swing it).
8. Warranty matters—the longer, the better.
9. He mentioned wanting plenty of storage to keep all his projects and a few games on the drive.
Thanks in advance for any tips or suggestions 🙂
Hey everyone 🙂
I'm looking to put together a rig with a budget of about $833—mainly for gaming.
What I don't need: peripherals (monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers), a power supply (already have a decent 550W unit), a case, or an optical drive.
Just need the rest of the "guts" to get things running 😁>
Appreciate any suggestions you guys have 😉>
p.s. being able to pay in installments would be nice, though not a dealbreaker.
Hey everyone 🙂
Looking for a quick reality check on what my current rig is worth—if you don't mind dropping some numbers 🙂
Selling the whole setup together, case + monitor included
1) CPU - Intel Core i7, 4x2.4 GHz, 8 MB Cache, LGA 775 socket
2) Motherboard - Intel Core i7 chipset, LGA775, 1x PCI E x16, 4x DDR2-800 (Dual), etc.
3) GPU - Powercolor Nvidia GeForce, 256 MB, GDDR3
4) RAM - 2 GB Supertalent DDR2 (800MHz)
5) PSU - CCT-400 W
6) Storage & Optical - 320GB HDD, 7200rpm General Electric, Sony DVD, CD
7) Monitor - Dell Monitor
8) Case - Just some generic stock version—has a blue LED on the front and a little screen showing temps, fan speeds, and boot info😁
Thanks in advance.
