You know as well as I do—Mercedes-Benz has a fast car...

Check out the reply above... ☕
I've actually got something to throw at you too...

Look, I totally get it—when you're putting money on someone, you're obviously going to be rooting for them to take the win.
mellowtiger83 said:Look, cheering for someone is one thing—but looking at the situation objectively is a whole different story!
So, I'm asking you straight up... are you rooting for Max? Just give me a straight answer.
swifttiger75 said:@neonfox65,
Come on, just admit where you were this morning... 🎉
I mean, why would you stay home to watch the race and then just crash right after?
mellowtiger83 said:Max has been in Formula 1 for a few seasons now and hasn't really shown anything special—aside from that mess in Brazil where he nearly wrecked himself anyway! Besides that, Max already has over 60 starts under his belt, not to mention how Ricciardo has been schooling him for two years in the exact same car... and he did it again in Australia. Look, Max is the flashier driver, the media darling, and probably even faster than Ricciardo, but Ricciardo is just plain smarter! Max falls into that Gilles Villeneuve category—we all know how Gilles ended up, what he achieved, and what he *could* have achieved if he hadn't gone off... sometimes you just have to hit the brakes, man!
Max isn't the future, he's the present. The future is probably Leclerc!
So, you aren't rooting for Max anymore?
Jerry Moore61 said:Mercedes-Benz is sticking with Formula 1 until the Concorde Agreement expires in 2020—after that, it's basically bye-bye. All they care about is stacking up wins and championships... once that stops happening, they're definitely out.
Well, they didn't just walk away when they were losing with McLaren. How many titles have they actually snagged since joining back in '95? Only 3 drivers' titles and 1 constructors'...
silverviper44 said:Yeah, and honestly, there's probably going to be just as much of a mess there in the future as there is today...
Bahrain is a totally different kind of track—should be better there.
What's my future if Max is the future? 🙂
I don't know—maybe I'm wrong about the standings, we'll just have to wait and see in two weeks...
stormytiger4 said:He just spun out on his own—no excuses, no weird circumstances. Just pure pressure. No one was pushing him... it was all him. 👍
Max was really the only one out there testing the limits and taking those risks. Maybe he shouldn't have, maybe he should have... it is what it is, we move on.
darkmarlin16 said:And who's actually responsible for the ferstapti move?
Well, he is—but honestly, what does it matter? The guys who did the hard work and got boxed out didn't get the win, so you gotta agree...
Magnussen jumped Max right at the start. It was a total mess—terrible Max and Ric both blew past him because he spun out... I can't quite remember how clean Hulkenberg's race actually ended up being, though. Could someone refresh my memory? I'm a bit lost here...
Max really messed up back on Saturday—made that little mistake during qualifying that cost him pole position. If he’d just started second instead, the whole race would've played out differently...
So, Rick actually managed to get ahead of Nando at the start.
I gotta say, I was thinking to myself when they kept pushing Max—expecting The Dutchman to make a mistake—that it just looked impossible to even get close, let alone pass. So, seeing him spin out didn't really shock me... honestly, I thought it would be even worse, like he’d wreck the car completely and DNF. It actually turned out okayish since he finished 6th, only 10 points behind Hamilton, who I'm pretty sure is going to be his main title rival. Still, I think Red Bull is faster than Ferrari. And another thing—I knew that after the SC, nobody was going to overtake anyone in the top six because these cars are just too fast... they rely way too much on aerodynamics, and there's zero chance of getting close even with three DRS zones, especially on a track like this. The FIA really needs to do something about these cars. If it wasn't for Haas messing things up, the race would have been nothing more than a glorified parade showing how fast the cars can go without any actual overtaking... just a procession.
Roger Wright94 said:I honestly think this is a fireable offense for someone over at Mercedes.
Those wheel issues at Haas and stuff like that? Nothing compared to this. To mess up something they literally just got on Friday! Seriously?! 😵
Where did Hamilton's arrogance go?
How is he even going to face the press now with those half-baked jokes of his?
ha ha: ha ha:
I just hope you guys don't start whining again like you did after the Bahrain Grand Prix.
darkmarlin16 said:Where's neonfox65 at?
I think they're just too embarrassed to show their faces...😁
Right here—I'm here!🙂
What can I say—it's just how things fell into place. This isn't exactly the natural order of things, either. But hey, at least the underdog beat Hamilton so the fans won't be crying about it.
stormytiger4 said:I'm honestly so stoked that McLaren managed to pull off some solid results—even if they did need a bit of that VSC luck to get there... But hey, they really needed this one. 🙏
Props to Nanda—man, he’s a hardcore racer. Seriously, the kid spent like 20 laps staring straight into someone's exhaust pipe... 🙏
Is anyone actually looking at the stats here? Honestly, it should be obvious—you need a car that's at least two seconds faster just to stand a chance at making a pass on this track. And let's not forget Max was out there fighting with a damaged car... His fastest lap was only a tenth quicker than Alonso's.
stormybadger8 said:All in all, Honda's looking good so far—way ahead of what I expected...👍
Honda is sitting right near the back, just like I predicted in my forecast. We'll have to see if they can actually make some gains as the season goes on.
