That duel was short—but sweet... 🙂 Or you know that whole "do it quick, but make it legendary" vibe... 🙂

Rain only falls when Mercedes wants it to😁—they probably have some secret antenna installed just to summon the storms

???

So, was there a duel? And did Vettel lose his cool? At Spa, Hamilton lost... So how could there not have been a duel?

What a driver🙏

What a strategy🙏

I honestly still can't wrap my head around how they managed to screw over both of them from third place—and right in the middle of the US Grand Prix in front of all those Ferrari fans, too. The entire pit wall (Arivaben, Vettel, Kimi...) should probably just hand in their badges tomorrow...

And let's not even get started on Vettel spinning out at Turn 2—absolutely priceless 🙂
Alright, what are you even picking on me for here?

crimsonhawk23 said:Kevin Magnussen showed he wasn't being cut off ☕

...when you know full well he was being cut off during braking.

It's right there in what you just quoted. If you'd stop nitpicking and actually use your brain, you'd see it says someone would have cut him off *during* braking. Get it? He’d be braking. He’d be cut off *while* braking. The act of braking is what closes the DRS. Driver A brakes before Driver B—I even specified the distances, the 40 and 34 meters. It's roughly the difference in our IQ levels (man, if I get a ban for this...).

Okay, but what's the actual difference between that and what we're looking at now? I don't really get what you're aiming for... what's your point?

Of course you can't wrap your head around it.

Look, nobody took your side regarding Esteban Ocon or even here.

Guys, can we move this DRS debate to a different thread? We're going to lose the plot here after just a few pages of posts.

Well, let the mod move it if they need to.
crimsonhawk23 said:Maybe try learning how to read. And hey—work on being a bit more polite... putting words in someone else's mouth isn't it. Where on earth did you see me say someone closes the DRS before braking? You're making things up. But since reading seems to be a struggle for you, let me help out a bit:

This is what you actually said, quoting you here:
Not all drivers would be ready for the same level of risk, so someone might close it a little early during braking, someone later, and someone else—like Max—even later than everyone else.

So my question to you was: "Explain how someone would close it while braking UNLESS they were already braking earlier?"

Still waiting for an answer... 🙂

Man, what a guy... 😵 I just said if they lifted the restrictions, anyone could use it whenever they wanted based on their own skill and ability, and this troll jumps on the fact that I didn't explicitly mention the part about not closing it during braking. 🤣

But you literally wrote above that Kevin Magnussen demonstrated that it doesn't close, and then sent me some stupid link!🤦

Clearly, some people just can't grasp that braking is totally different when you're flying into a corner with the DRS open versus having it closed, which is how it works everywhere outside the DRS zones now.🤦

And what are you even saying now?🤦 I honestly can't follow you... you've lost the plot. First, you were trying to convince me in that other thread that Esteban Ocon wasn't defending himself, and now you're talking nonsense about DRS.🤦
crimsonhawk23 said:Kevin Magnussen just showed everyone he’s not one to back down... ☕

Oh, come on—stop messing with me, please. Seriously. Here, look for yourself on the official site... I can't believe we're actually looking back at the championship history like this—it really puts everything into perspective. Looking through these stats... man, it’s wild how much the game has changed over the years. Just seeing all those names listed there—some legends, some absolute icons—it makes you realize how much pressure these drivers are under every single weekend. It’s one thing to watch the race on TV, but to actually be in that seat? Unbelievable...

What does it say about that thing I mentioned—the part that's supposed to close automatically when you hit the brakes...

Honestly, asking me who Otmar Szafnauer is... that really makes me think you don't have access to a single search engine...

I was feeling too lazy to type it all out—so I figured I'd just have you write it for me...
Alright, found it

The DRS will automatically be disabled (resetting the rear wing flap to its original position) the first time the driver uses the brakes after activation.

And then you say this:

Not all drivers would be ready for the same level of risk—so someone might close it up a bit earlier during braking, someone a bit later, and someone (looking at you, Max Verstappen) even later than everyone else.

So who's the crazy one here? Explain how anyone would close it BEFORE braking... unless they were already braking earlier?
I was actually going to ask you this:

Doesn't the DRS automatically close when they hit the brakes?

Just tell me first if I've got this right or if I'm totally off base—I honestly can't tell myself...
crimsonhawk23 said:I’ve said it five times now—there are zero restrictions on how this is used. Seriously, go grab a dictionary and look up what the word restriction actually means...

🤦

That isn't a restriction, it's an assist. So, you're saying they should brake manually and then just tap a button to close the DRS? Fine then—if that's how you feel, let's just strip away all the other driver aids too. I'm all for it...
crimsonhawk23 said:Just before that lap comes out, then a little later, maybe one more lap after that...

🤦 Ugh, when I have to deal with this kind of nonsense from you...

Look, the guy who’s physically ahead is ALWAYS going to exit the corner first because he's literally in front... please, let's stop embarrassing ourselves here...

Because that guy behind him is just faster and stronger—so he's catching up...

That’s exactly why they brought in DRS—because if he can't stay close enough through the corners, he's got zero chance of making a move on the straight. You give them both DRS and you basically end up right back where you started... just a wash.

Obviously not. Red Bull could blast through Eau Rouge - Raidillon without breaking a sweat even with the DRS wide open—but Haas and Sauber? They’ll end up face-first in the wall...

So, that would just widen the gap between the big teams and the small ones even further—and here we are, working so hard to actually close those gaps...

Not all drivers would be willing to take the same kind of risk—you’d have some closing the door a bit early during braking, others waiting a little longer, and then there's someone like Max Verstappen... 😬...later than everyone else.

Doesn't the DRS automatically close when you hit the brakes...?
crimsonhawk23 said:Good grief, come on pro—think about this for a second. Think professionally... ☕I said we should just let them use DRS whenever and wherever they want, no restrictions. Let it be up to the drivers and their own judgment.

You're just focusing on attacking versus defending.

And even on defense—unlike you—I don't see how the guy in front could open up the same tiny gap with DRS as the guy behind who's actually using it to make a move.

😬 😁

Well, the driver in front would open it EARLIER because he'd exit the corner sooner...☕

If DRS can be used anywhere, fine—but then everyone’s just going to use it in the exact same spots, or do you really think they won't?
crimsonhawk23 said:Come on—maybe think for a second before dropping questions like that...

I mean, you're saying everyone can use DRS, but then what's even the point? The whole idea behind DRS is so the guy chasing has the advantage. If both drivers are just using it constantly, then the whole concept loses its purpose...
crimsonhawk23 said:Personally, I’m not sold on scrapping DRS entirely—but I am all for getting rid of every single restriction. Basically, let whoever wants it use it, whenever they want, wherever they want... honestly, if someone wanted to run an entire lap with open DRS, let them. It would actually make things more interesting because driver skill—especially defensive driving when someone is breathing down your neck with open DRS—would finally start to matter a bit more.

Then what's the point of DRS? If that's the case, just scrap it altogether.
Looks like rain is coming—Lewis's gonna grab half a spot while Vettel flies past 😁
Joseph Flores15 said:Man, he really sent it wide in The Parabolic Turn 😁

Using Kimi's car again, haha...
crimsonhawk23 said:Ricciardo is having "random" issues again—just half a lap 🤣 🤣 Looks like an engine failure.

It doesn't seem all that random when he's running that spec3 engine—the one the Renault representative said they weren't even sure was reliable enough to use in a Renault...
stormytiger4 said:That’s just not true.

What do you mean it's not 5 and 8? Unless that driver happens to have a brother or something...
stormytiger4 said:Man, I’d love to see this finish order at the end:

1. Kimi Räikkönen
2. Ocon
3. Sebastian Vettel
4. Ric
5. Leclerc
6. Sainz
7. K-Mag 8. Leclerc
8. Leclerc
9. Sergio Perez
10. Hulk
...

DNF
Lewis Hamilton, Mad Max

You wrote Leclerc twice🤦

Kimi is basically just bait at this point... if he hadn't been the last one to pit, he might've actually pulled off the win eeeeeee

But hey, I guess they have to justify that $60 million paycheck.
