Chase Student Starter Pack in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
I’ve got a quick question regarding the student American Express card. I’m currently using one, but lately, I’ve noticed something weird at checkout: multiple merchants aren't approving installment plans anymore. It’s like they’re forcing everything onto a single monthly payment instead. The strange part? This seems to be happening exclusively with my Chase American Express student card—my other cards are clearing installment requests just fine. 🤔 Now that I’ve officially landed a job, I’m planning to ditch the student package and upgrade to a standard American Express with an annual fee. My big concern is whether I'll run into this same headache. Will I still be blocked from making purchases on installments with a regular card? Is this issue tied to American Express itself, the specific merchant, or am I just getting unlucky everywhere?
Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning in Movies ·
Honestly, it didn't really do much for me... I actually drifted off halfway through the movie. ☕I ended up waking up just in time to catch those last two final scenes.

Is anyone else celebrating Body Day over in Canada? I’m supposed to head out to a small town in the Midwest this week to pick up a package, but there's absolutely nothing posted on the USPS website ☕

^I’ve walked past that shop a thousand times, and honestly, I have no clue they even carry sports nutrition. All I ever see in the window is boxing gear and UFC stuff.

Does anyone know if any shops in Washington, D.C. have any whey protein on sale right now?

Does anyone know if the Fitness Point in North Jersey carries the Inkospor line, or am I going to have to make the trip out to Gladiator on Fifth Avenue?

Sam Roberts said:Honestly, the way you’re talking makes it pretty obvious you have no clue what you're doing. Do you even understand how protein works? There is zero logic in popping 12 tablets a day.div>

I’m not tossing them in the trash, and I’m not selling them either—not when I’d basically be giving them away for pennies. I’m not looking for a lecture here. I’ve been hitting the gym long enough to know my way around a barbell; I just need some actual advice on dosage, because 12 a day feels excessive to me.

If we’re going to follow that line of reasoning, what’s even the point of taking whey and creatine? Why would they be any better than just straight amino acids? At the end of the day, protein is basically just a collection of amino acids anyway, so logically, wouldn't it make more sense to just start with the core supplementation?

EDIT: I’ve already got them sitting here, so really, I just need to decide on my actual dosage.

I’ve got a question regarding amino acid capsules, specifically Dymatize Super Amino 4800. According to the dosage instructions: "As a dietary supplement, take four (4) caplets three times daily." If I’m reading this right, I’m supposed to just knock back 4 capsules, three times a day—meaning 12 capsules total 😕 That feels like a massive amount to me (even if I'm not stacking it with anything else), doesn't it? Shouldn't the dose be based on some kind of body weight category? Will I actually see any meaningful gains if I just stick to a max of 2 or 3 capsules a day?

I'm pretty new to all this. I've already overhauled my diet and my workout routine... I even figured out which supplements I'm going to grab. The only thing tripping me up is where to actually buy them. I was looking locally here in the States, but honestly, seeing the prices abroad, everything is like half the cost. I'm not trying to sponsor anyone, but if someone could point me in the right direction or give me some advice on where you guys pick up your supplements—even just shoot me a private message—I’d really appreciate it.
Thanks in advance 👋

There are two specific online shops in Canada that people usually use; it’s a solid move because you end up saving about 30-50%. Or, an even better hack is to check sites like eBay or local marketplaces. People sell the exact same stuff they bought in Canada there, usually just 20-$10 more expensive, which still works out way cheaper than buying anything domestically.

I'm thinking about picking up some stuff from Vitamin Shoppe
two 5lb tubs of ELITE WHEY
or maybe just
one massive 10lb tub of GOLD WHEY.

Which one do you guys think is actually better? The price is basically a wash for me.
thanks 🙂

Honestly, they’re both fine. There isn't really a "better" option here—just grab one of each and see which flavor you actually enjoy more.

Looking for a specialist... in Health ·
So, I was sent over to the Mayo Clinic by an orthopedist back on February 15, 2012. ☕ What a complete disaster. I’m going to have to keep looking elsewhere.

I sent an email to the orthopedic department over at Hilltop this past Monday, but I still haven't heard back regarding an appointment time. Is it pretty standard to wait a few days for a response, or should I just head down there in person?

I’m looking for a solid recommendation for an orthopedic surgeon who actually knows what they’re doing—someone who takes insurance/referrals, obviously. It's a sports injury involving my shoulder. Specifically, I need to know which hospital is even worth stepping foot in; I’ve heard the orthopedic department at New Hospital is absolute garbage. I also really don't want to be stuck on a three-month waiting list just for a consultation. I was pointed toward Aritheru over on Petrov, but it turns out they don't see patients under standard insurance coverage. Someone else suggested I check out Božidarevićev, but I can't find a single thing about that facility online.

quietpilot87 said:I already picked up some Optimum Nutrition, I'm just curious what you guys think about it.🙂

If we're talking flavor and how easily it mixes, it's hands down the best whey out there. As far as my own experience goes, in terms of actual results and muscle gains, it's pretty much on par with everything else.

Well, I guess I’ll have to cut it out for a week or two—maybe longer. It might actually be the whey protein causing this. If it isn't, I'll start digging through the data to find the culprit, but if it is... what then?

Charles Chavez5 said:Honestly, it doesn't matter. Whether you pick Optimum, Gold, Silver, or Twinlab, what's the real difference? One foams up less, one dissolves a little smoother, and with the third one, you deal with less gas (my apologies to the ladies here)🙂

Is it actually possible that I'm one of those rare outliers where whey protein is causing my kidney pain? Let's say, for the sake of argument, that it is—how on earth can millions of other people take whey without any issues at all, even when they're stacking more intense supplements? ☕

So, is it theoretically possible to run into kidney issues if you're taking supplements over a long period? I'm currently on my third tub of Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Whey—been at it for about six months now, taking one to one and a half scoops every single day. That’s it, though; no other supplements involved. Lately, though, specifically over the last week, I've been feeling this dull ache on both sides in the kidney area. Maybe the best move is just to take a break and see if the pain clears up ☕
