I was being a bit careless, I guess. Now that I've started mixing my shakes again, they have this weird smell... kind of sour.

Toss that crap in the trash before you end up with a legendary case of food poisoning. ☕

I’ve used Jack3d before, but you didn't specify what exactly you're looking for. If you're in a cutting phase trying to drop some weight, it’s actually great—that's pretty much when I stick to it. It gives you a solid energy kick and acts as a thermogenic. The catch is that you’ll really feel it during those first few times you take it. After that, even if you bump up the dose (which is mandatory, though don't go more than 10g over), that "kick" starts to fade. Sometimes I'll grab it when I'm totally wiped from work and other life stuff just to get myself revved up before hitting the gym.

It sounds like it works as a pre-workout booster, which is exactly what I'm after. I have a leaner build, so I'm not really worried about weight loss; I just want something that provides a noticeable energy surge without heavy side effects. I tried guarana before, but it didn't do anything for my energy levels and gave me some nasty side effects, so I quit. I'm wondering if Jack3d is actually what I need.☕

Is anyone actually using Jack3d? It’s always been hyped up as one of the top-tier supplements out there, but I want the real story. Is there anyone here who’s personally putting it in their stack? I’m looking for an honest, unfiltered review. 🙂

I was looking at the label for Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Whey, and it mentions you should probably check in with a doctor if you plan on using it long-term. That caught my attention because I’m already halfway through my second 5lb tub, and honestly, I haven't seen that kind of medical disclaimer on any other protein brand I've tried. Is anyone else seeing this, or is it just me?

My bad, I totally just let one rip near you. Sorry about that, man. ☕

How much glucose can you actually consume daily without wrecking your system? I'm wondering if you can seriously mess up your blood sugar levels if you go overboard with it. 🤷

Let me break this down for you. If you want that shredded, aesthetic look, you go for higher reps (15+). If you're chasing raw mass, you stick to the 6-10 range. Most people just run 4-6 sets depending on what fits their schedule and fitness level. Now, if you actually want that "Greek god" physique, you need to be hitting cardio 2-4 times a week for at least 45 minutes. You don't even start tapping into those fat stores until about thirty minutes in, once you've burned through the energy you consumed during the day. Another option is running on the treadmill, again for 40+ minutes. But honestly, diet is what dictates your look more than anything else. Lowering carbs and bumping up protein is the key. A perfect example is those snack bars—you aren't going to see any definition if you aren't watching what you eat. And don't for one second think you'll get anywhere just by cutting calories without working out; your body will eventually adapt to the lower intake and your metabolism will just slow down.

You're sitting here talking about having a sensitive stomach and all that nonsense, so let me ask you: have you ever even tried mixing protein with grapes? What kind of protein? Everything is available online, and maybe your kids have been doing a better job searching Google than you have, because clearly, you haven't.
Even more important: after a workout, you don't even need protein as much as you need dextrose to help quickly repair those torn muscle fibers. By the way, if you aren't sore tomorrow, you didn't train hard enough. That's my number one rule.

Look, I'm not a professional strength and conditioning coach, but wtf!? There is more stupidity in this single thread than in the rest of this entire forum combined.☕

slydriver52 said:Just how much of that milk were you slamming every day to end up with all that fat? And was it even low-fat to begin with?
At the end of the day, we aren't all built the same way, so you can't just claim that milk messes everyone up.
Now, please explain to me why recreational lifters are constantly chugging whey mixed with glucose immediately after a workout?
I know plenty of guys who stick strictly to whole foods—like chicken and rice—right after training, and they look a hell of a lot better than those clueless kids who read some bodybuilding magazine or saw some flashy packaging and convinced themselves that post-workout whey with glucose is mandatory.
Those kids don't have a clue what they're doing. They probably have no idea that dumping a massive amount of glucose into your system slows down digestion because of its high osmolality. I see tons of them tossing 100g of glucose into their shake right after a session when their stomach is at its most sensitive.

100g 😕What do you mean "normal"? That's half the damn container! :S

this one or this one?

If anyone here has actually used these or even just knows their ingredients, let me know.😁
This ABB stuff looks like it might even be better, plus you get two units for the same price. It’s not exactly cheap, so I can't just go crushing through the whole thing in a week.😁

Personally, I wouldn't touch mass gainers ever again. I wasted my time with them when I was starting out and didn't see any real progress. Even though I wasn't obsessing over my physique back then, I was still pretty disappointed. Those gainers are just loaded with random junk carbs, and for my body, they were basically zero-effect. You can make up all those calories and carbs with actual food, which makes gainers pretty much redundant. My advice? Aim for a powder that's mostly protein and low on the carb count. I had a much better experience with products like that, especially since I have a leaner build.

Alright, has anyone here actually noticed a tangible difference when mixing their protein powder with water versus milk? I’m looking for people who have cycled through both—maybe did a few months on water, then switched to milk—and can honestly say, "Yeah, water is better." I want real, firsthand accounts based on actual experience, not some half-baked theories you find on a random corner of the internet.

Seriously, what kind of logic are you guys using to justify mixing your post-workout meal (PWM)—meaning, your whey and milk shake after hitting the gym—with dairy!??!?
Milk slows down your digestion. On top of that, your stomach is already struggling enough to process your PWM, which usually consists of whey and glucose.
You don't want that glucose sitting there undigested. 🙂
You know exactly what happens when it doesn't get straight to the muscles...
If you absolutely can't stand the thought of mixing whey with water, fine, go ahead and have milk, whey, and some oats in the morning.
Or, if you're having a gap between meals—say, three hours—then maybe a whey and milk combo with some whole grains or a couple of grams of low-fat cottage cheese makes sense just to slow the whey down...
But when it comes to your actual PWM, it’s water or nothing. Period.

It's not important to me, and I bet it isn't important to at least 90% of the people on this forum either. I'm not a pro athlete, and I'm not obsessed with constant calculations, math, studying papers, tracking progress, obsessing over my looks, or weighing and measuring myself every single week. I drink my supplements with whatever works for me. I'm not going to force myself to drink something that makes me nauseous just because I read some random thing online saying it's "supposed" to be done that way.
Tucker & Dale vs. Evil (2010) in Movies ·
The comedy is just aggressively mediocre. It’s neither great nor terrible—it just sits there. The core idea is actually pretty innovative, but the execution? Total flop. Honestly, reading all these glowing reviews for this movie is a massive disappointment. Either I need to sit through this a few more times before it actually clicks, or you guys just have zero standards when it comes to comedy. 🙂

It honestly fascinates me how much people obsess over this stuff. Look, unless you're some pro powerlifter or a competitive bodybuilder, just drink it with whatever makes it taste good to you. Personally, I can't stand mixing mine with water—the taste is just gross.

slydriver52 said:Hey everyone, I’ve got some bad news to share.
Some of you might have already heard, but I wanted to flag that retailers over in Canada have started hiking up prices on whey concentrate and casein. This is happening because global market prices have been climbing steadily since the start of the year.
I'm predicting we'll see those same price hikes hitting us here in the States pretty soon, so my advice is to stock up while you still can.

I'm being dead serious about this.

Check this out:http://www.prlog.org/10705477-price-...must-read.html

The article itself dates back to 2010, but the logic holds up for this year too. Big corporations carry massive raw material inventories, so they don't feel the sting of new market prices immediately.

Can you give me a specific link showing exactly which products went up in price in Canada?

slydriver52 said:Sure you can, just don't let it sit around too long—use it up ASAP.
If it starts tasting sour after a while, just toss it.

I'm talking about the 2:1:1 Recovery powder, and the expiration date is May 2011. That should cover the whole month. Honestly, the only reason I grabbed it was because the price was slashed specifically because of that date. Plus, I see people raving about it online, and I figured I could polish it off within two or three weeks anyway. It's actually pretty good 🙂

Is it actually safe to take a supplement if it’s slightly past its expiration date? I’m not talking about some crazy scenario where it expired three or four months ago—I mean we're looking at maybe fifteen days or so. I picked up a tub on sale because the date was coming up fast, and a buddy of mine is insisting it's perfectly fine as long as you don't let it sit around for months on end. I wanted to get your take before I start loading up on it. 🙂
