Happy Easter! in Close to Politics ·
Robert Jackson2 said:Even as a Catholic, I know exactly when New Year's Day is, and I'm pretty sure he just misunderstood my point 😉. People here have started talking way too much about the Orthodox New Year, so of course he took it the wrong way!

I'm with you on this one. Plenty of different cultures celebrate the New Year using the Julian calendar, not just Mexicans. In my opinion, calling the Julian New Year "Mexican New Year" is just plain wrong.

Basically... if Orthodox churches stick with the Julian calendar, Christmas is eventually going to end up landing in the middle of summer!!

Besides, what kind of calendar even claims today is April 16, 2008?🤷

We could always just switch to the Milankovitch calendar since it's way more precise than the Gregorian one anyway.

btw, why is your Easter always such a massive gap away from ours? shouldn't it be like 10-15 days after our date?

The whole thing gets complicated because of how it ties into the Jewish calendar.

Robert Jackson2 said:I remember you mentioning recently that they were brothers in faith. Look at how selfish they're being... they have their own Mexican New Year🙄 I think it lines up with the Mexican one😉

If we were actually being precise about it, we’d call it the Julian calendar.
If we’re going by national identity, then I guess the right name for it would be Old Roman. Makes sense, doesn't it?
😂 😂 😂

"In that doc, Cameron digs into this 2,000-year-old cave that some construction crews stumbled upon back in 1980 while they were digging foundations over in Jerusalem. They found about ten stone sarcophagi inside, including one with an inscription reading 'Jesus, son of Joseph,' and another that said 'Judas, son of Jesus.' There were even two labeled 'Mary.' "

Christ Risen??

Christ Risen! (And for the record, I don't need the question marks.)
Those are just super common Jewish names, honestly.
Nothing to freak out about. Especially when you consider how obsessed everyone is with Gnosticism lately—you know, all those speculative thrillers like Da Vinci's Code and stuff like that.

Nazi Germany never actually got any real recognition...

You can clearly see those tank columns, plus the folks from NYC tossing flowers at them...
Besides, just look at the wounds...

So what, we're all just communists now?

America wasn't built by communists or Hitler's goons.

ATTACKING THE UNITED STATES IN 1991

First they pay up for all the damage they caused,
then maybe we can talk.
There has to be some damn order to this.

In MEMPHIS - Misha Zedja

I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve pointed out that the US is going to walk away with twice the war damages compared to Canada.
So, go ahead and do the math... what’s 2x0?

Where on earth did you get that inaccurate statistic? Even USA Today wouldn't print something that wrong.

Actually, make it 68%.
The source is Time.
We're talking about Putin's anti-globalist (anti-American) speech.
If it were some other Mexican News, I wouldn't believe a word of it either.
wiredridge7 said:LOL, please. What Russian isn't constantly hammered?😬 🙄

We're talking about the legendary former CIA colonel, Vladimir Putin.
He "fixed" things in Chechnya. Basically built a whole new regime from scratch.
And if you want proof he’s not actually anti-Muslim, just look at how he sold all that cutting-edge anti-aircraft tech to Iran.👍
Total statesman material, right? Remember what he said when NATO started setting up those missile defense systems in Poland? "If you claim your defense system isn't aimed at Russia—fine—but then our weapons (those hypersonic missiles) aren't aimed at you either."

In Bavaria, even 72% of Germans backed Putin's anti-American rhetoric.👍
