Last year, when we picked up our pastries from Emma, they were priced at $90 per kilogram, though if you ordered more than 10 kilograms, the rate dropped to $27, so I imagine the current pricing follows a similar volume-based structure. As for the flavor, everyone kept asking us where we got them because they were truly exceptional.🙂Just last month, we even ordered a custom cake from them for a christening, and honestly, I can’t decide if it was even better or just more beautifully designed than the previous batch.👍One thing I find quite clever about their business model is that they provide newlyweds with half a kilogram of pastries free of charge, allowing them to sample the quality firsthand before committing to a larger order.😉

Maybe I just happened to get a bad batch, much like you did...?!?!
That seems to be the case.😉 Since I am aware that many women have been praising Kaiser just as much as they have Apple, I find myself wondering... 🙂 I realize this is somewhat off-topic, but I find myself wondering: when might you finally grace us with those photographs from your wedding?🙂
David Howard9 said:You know, Emma's treats left me with that exact same impression. I almost 🤮 when I bit into the Shubarić, because there was just so much margarine in it, and the rest felt so bland too...
Oh, I just knew you would be the first one to chime in on this😂. Don't take it personally, but everyone has already heard that story about your fruitcake, much like they've already heard your takes on Emma.😉

If you ask me, they are absolutely top-tier.🙏 However, I must share a different experience. A few days after some ladies were raving about Cashner’s bakery, my husband and I decided to pick up a few pounds of their wedding cakes to bring home. I must admit, we were quite disappointed. 😢The aftertaste of margarine from the white pie still lingers on my palate, the bohem square was entirely flavorless, and everything else was merely mediocre. To be fair, the cookies are visually stunning. I have no intention of being overly critical, but we won't be returning there; we will certainly stick to Emma and Sugarman!🙂

You should definitely give them a shot if you're feeling it, then let me know what you think. Since their shop is right there at the intersection in Dubac👍.
Could you please elaborate on what specifically missed the mark for you? We actually headed over this past Saturday to check out those much-vaunted pastries ourselves, only to find the doors firmly shut (their hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM 😕). I had gone in expecting a traditional bakery where we could pick up a few cakes and treats for the house, so the disappointment was quite palpable. I'm left wondering—do they operate strictly by appointment, or is it something else entirely? 🤷
Ladies, just a heads-up: at the IBM wedding fair, they were handing out half a kilogram of pastries for free last year (if I recall correctly). It’s actually a great chance to get a little taste and see how delicious they really are. 🙂

I was reading about the pastry shop in Manhattan (I drove by there once, but I couldn't quite figure out what it was near?) has anyone actually tried their cakes???
What about Emma ???'s bakery? Or maybe Peace of Cake??
For a crowd of 120 people, roughly how many kilograms of cake should we order? We won't be sending guests home with leftovers...
thanks ladies😉[/Q Unfortunately, they don't do wedding cakes over at Orient. We ended up ordering from Emma ??? last time, and they were absolutely delicious. 👍
restlesssailor66 said:Why don't you head over to Brooklyn? It’s right near me, so maybe you can get a real feel for the vibe and see if they're actually decent or just total flops...
The address is 14 Main Street; it sits at the very end of that block, almost right by the railroad tracks.😉
Emma is currently in a small town in the Midwest. I personally haven't encountered a single subpar dessert there; in fact, at the wedding, everyone was hunting down her contact information, and now there’s a massive surge of orders for her holiday cookies. The newlyweds are given half a kilogram of treats for free, which serves as an excellent way for guests to judge whether they are truly exceptional or, as some might claim, underwhelming.

we're actually heading over to Sugarland this Saturday—my husband realized out of nowhere that his buddy and his wife host a little get-together there 😂 so we're going to swing by and see if we can strike it lucky 🙂
The pastries there are fantastic; personally, I'd put them right up there with Emma, though they were about two bucks more expensive, so Emma ended up winning me over.🙂

I feel compelled to join the chorus of praise for Orient. I should probably exercise some restraint to avoid sounding like a walking advertisement—the owner happens to be a close friend, after all—but we had their wedding cake for our big day, and frankly, it was sublime. They possess a certain mastery that seems entirely unmatched by anyone else in the business.🙂
The same goes for the pastries; I’m not entirely sure if there are any options under $27 , though perhaps someone here knows of some more budget-friendly 🤷. Personally, when I visited Sweet Secrets and Cake, I was paying $27 per pound, yet the desserts were absolutely divine 🙂
If I may offer a personal recommendation—you simply must visit Emma (Malešnica). Their pastries are truly exquisite; every single guest I’ve hosted has raved about them. 🙂

It’s going to be a unique twist on things, and I'm certain it will be delicious! 🙂
feraltrucker22 said:. . So, what are you all planning to put on top of the cake? I’m drawing a blank. I can't stand those little bride and groom figurines they usually use at the venue where I'll be working, and I'm definitely not a fan of pigeons either...🤷
We are thinking about doing a bride and groom topper, but something a bit more eccentric—maybe in a wild, stylized pose. I simply couldn't see myself going with the classic versions.
